Brad and Angelina’s brood of six kids is about to get a lot bigger…

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie could be about to welcome a new addition to their ever-growing brood.

The couple are reportedly making plans to adopt a Syrian orphan, after Angelina made one of several visits to refugee camps in Turkey earlier this year.

As part of her work as a United Nations Special Envoy for Refugees, the actress travelled to the country to meet first hand with victims of the Syrian displacement crisis.

After meeting three young brothers who had been orphaned when their father was taken away by soldiers and their mother killed in a bombing incident, Angelina apparently made the decision to adopt again.

The Mr and Mrs Smith star, who has three adopted children and three biological children with her husband Brad Pitt, suggested adopting more than one orphan, but soon realised it was not a realistic plan.

"Angie wanted to adopt all three [Syrian brothers], but when she got back to the United States, and told Brad about it, he said no,' an insider tells RadarOnline.

"Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their other kids.

"Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work. But they compromised at adopting one."

As a result of her involvement with the UN, Angelina has made more than six visits to Syrian refugee camps.

Back in 2013, the actress urged the world's governments "to save a generation of traumatised, isolated and suffering Syrian children from catastrophe."
