Anne Hathaway has NO time for people hating on her girl J-Law

Jennifer Lawrence's friendship with Amy Schumer might be the one getting all the attention of late, but the Oscar-winner also counts another A-lister among her circle of BFFs.

Actress Anne Hathaway has taken to social media to hit back at those criticising J-Law for her behaviour at this year's Golden Globes.

Jennifer came under fire after telling a journalist to put his phone away while he interviewed her in the Globes press room, immediately sparking a reaction online.

Some said Jen's response was justified – the journalist was apparently snapping pictures while interviewing her – while others blasted her as downright rude.

Anne is firmly in Jen's camp, and said as much in an open letter on Facebook this week.

"Dear the Internet," she wrote.

"It's become pretty clear that the Jennifer Lawrence 'scolding' was taken out of context and that she was dryly joking with a journalist who was indeed using his phone to take photos of her.

"Let's not continue the sad but common practice of building people – especially women – up just to viciously tear them down when we perceive them to have misstepped.

"Jennifer is a beautiful, talented, wildly successful, popular, FOUR TIME OSCAR NOMINATED young woman. Please let us not punish her for these things.

"Sincerely, a J-Law fan #‎supportstrongwomen #‎imwithher #‎whycantwegiveloveonemorechance."

Though she's generally quite private online, this isn't the first time in recent weeks that Anne's shared something personal on her social media accounts.

Two weeks ago the pregnant star took to Instagram to beat the paparazzi to the first "Anne's baby bump" shot, after spotting photographers tailing her during her New Year's beach holiday.

"Just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed," she wrote alongside a snap of her in a bikini.

"I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy."

Kudos to Anne.
