If you are heading to the States this summer, instead of the usual touristy attractions like the Empire State Building, Sears Tower, The Magnificent Mile etc. , explore the weird and wonderful that America has to offer:

The World’s Largest Ball of Twine, Cawker City, Kansas
Yes, it exists and yes it is in the States – Cawker City, Kansas to be exact. Started by Frank Stoeber in 1953, it has grown to weigh nine tons and is 40 feet in diameter. Pretty impressive!

Wee’l Turtle, Dunseith, North Dakota
What could be better than visiting an 18ft giant turtle made from 2,000 wheel rims? Nothing!

UFO Landing Port, Green Bay , Wisconsin
If you are a UFO fanatic than head to Green Bay. There you will find a 42ft tall extraterrestrial airport waiting for space life to land.

Largest Ball of Paint, Alexandria, Indiana
Competing with the world’s largest ball of twine, this 1,300lbs ball of paint has 20,000 coats of paints – amazing.

Enchanted Highway, Dickinson, North Dakota
Just off Interstate 94, you will find the giant solitary figures standing 45ft tall made from storage tanks and scrap metal. Figures include Geese in Flight, Fisherman’s Dream and Pheasants on the Prairie.
