The bodies of two men, both aged 22, have been found in Dublin in the last 24 hours.

Emergency services were called to a house on Woodville Avenue, Lucan at around 3pm yesterday afternoon, after a young man was found with a suspected gunshot wound to the chest.

The scene has been preserved overnight pending the arrival of the Garda Technical Bureau this morning.

It's understood the man, who was training as a plumber in Co. Limerick, had been out with friends on Saturday night, though no motive has yet been established.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Meanwhile, a second man was found with a head injury at a Luas stop on Ranelagh Road shortly after 4.30am on Monday morning.

The 22-year-old was rushed to St James's Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination and Gardaí are reviewing CCTV images of the area.
