Stereo Kicks, the eight piece boy band from last seasons X Factor, have announced they are splitting up after less than a year together.

The band was put together on the television show last year in the boot camp stages of the show.

This morning they posted on Facebook a very long an heartfelt message to break the news to fans that they are now gong their seperate ways but they thanked them all for what has been an 'amazing' year.

They said that family is often an over used word but over the past year they have become one and 'that is why the next part is so hard'.

The band broke the news saying "We all feel the time has come for us to now continue our journeys individually."

"We have learnt first-hand just how tough the industry is as an unsigned act. Unfortunately, due to these circumstances, we are no longer able to carry on as a band."

They reassured fans that felt as if they could have done more "Please understand that there is nothing more that you could have done and that this is a situation completely beyond both your control and ours."

The statement read that Stereo Kicks will continue to be a huge part of their lives and they will remain as the best of friends going forward.

They then continued to thank the fans and told them they wanted to end on a high so they announced a goodbye concert in Thorpe Park. They signed off saying "Thank you so much for EVERYTHING! We Love You!"
