She was the baby that confirmed her parents were so much more than just another Hollywood fling – and today (can you believe it) Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt turns nine.
Happy birthday, Shiloh!
The gorgeous child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt was born in Swakopmund in the southeastern African country of Namibia on May 27, 2006.
And although her mum and dad met and fell in love on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith (when he was infamously still married to Jennifer Ainston) they didn't confirm their union until four months before Shiloh's birth – by which stage Angie was sporting a noticeable baby bump.
At the time, the actress was already a parent to Maddox, now 13, and Zahara, ten.
With Brad, she also went on to adopt Pax, 11, and give birth to twins Knox, a son, and Vivienne, a daughter, who are now six.
Shiloh is know for her love of dressing like a boy. She shuns girly dresses and anything pink or pastel, and also asks to be called 'John'.
"I think she is fascinating, the choices she is making," Ms Jolie has said of her daughter's appearance.
"And I would never be the kind of parent to force somebody to be something they are not. I think that is just bad parenting."
At the time of her birth, her pictures were sold to a glossy magazine for an eye-watering €7m – a record-breaking figure which her parents used to support several charities close to their hearts.
After seven years and six children together, Brad and Angelina announced their engagement in April 2012.
Last August, along with her five siblings, Shiloh witnessed her parents marry in an intimate ceremony held at their private estate, Château Miraval, in southeastern France.
