If you secured tickets to Chris Rock's gig in the 3Arena this month, you're no doubt absolutely buzzing.

But if you've already planned captions for your snaps and come up with a series of smug tweets to send throughout the gig, we have some disappointing news for you.

Chris Rock will not be allowing you to use your phone at any point during his performance on Saturday September 30.

According to a recent announcement, the 52-year-old comedian will be providing the audience with a Yondr Pouch in order to ensure that everyone in the arena is present and engaged on the night.

So, what is a Yondr Pouch exactly?

Well, the pouch allows phone signals to get through, so someone can feel a phone vibrate when a message arrives, but if you need access during the show, you may leave the room, have the device unlocked and use the phone in the lobby or outside — similar to the way smokers light up outside a non-smoking theatre.

Chris Rock has urged his fans to embrace Yondr and take one night off from being the paparazzo of your own life.

The comedian hopes his upcoming show will be a return to old school entertainment where the great memories of the night will remain in people’s minds and not on a cell phone.

Ladies, it's time to embrace it.
