He's had his well-documented wrangles with the law in the past – including a high-profile case against his ex girlfriend Rihanna – but trouble and Chris Brown still seemingly go hand-in-hand.

In fact, the singer has now been named by police as a "person of interest," in an assault case involving a young woman.

The woman claims that on Monday evening, and after she refused to surrender her phone to his entourage, she was forcibly thrown off Mr Brown's tour bus.

Along with French Montana and Fetty Wap, Chris, 26, has been shooting a video at the Platinum 84 Gentleman's Club in Denver.

TMZ reports that the woman, who was not part of the production, had now filed a police report for third degree assault – and that relevant CCTV footage has already been viewed by the authorities.

The woman in question furthermore claims that her phone was smashed during the alleged scuffle.

Supposedly, the matter arose because Mr Brown and his posse always enforce a strict 'no phones' rule on their tour bus to avoid videos or photographs being secretly shot.

Police are now very much looking to interview Chris and his friends as part of their investigations.
