Tali Lennox shares heartbreak on Instagram after body is discovered

Some tragic news this morning as police searching for missing man Ian Jones have recovered a body near to where he was last seen.

Tali Lennox, daughter of music legend Annie Lennox, was kayaking with her boyfriend Ian on New York's Hudson River on Saturday when the pair got into difficulty. Neither was wearing lifejackets when they entered the water, but while Tali was luckily picked up by a passing boat, Ian has not been seen since.

While an official confirmation has yet to be made, police believe the body recovered is indeed that of 32-year-old Ian.

Rescue crews have suspended their search since the discovery was made near the Poughkeepsie Yacht Club yesterday afternoon. According to NBC News, the body found "matches the description" of Ian.

22-year-old Tali took to Instagram late last night to express her heartbreak, posting a black-and-white image of herself and Ian with the message, "My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me. All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."

While the cause of the accident is unknown, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Captain John Watterson said over the weekend he believed that both “the river's strong current and alcohol may have played a role”.

Ian was a professional model for IMG and had worked for Levi's, Detail magazine and Wallpaper magazine among others.

Heart break for pop star and family this weekend in New York

There has been heart-breaking news for Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox and her family this weekend following a tragic kayaking accident yesterday morning.

Her 22-year old daughter was out on the waters of the Hudson River with her boyfriend, 32-year old Ian Jones when they got into difficulty.

Both Tali and Ian disappeared beneath the surface of the water and it is understood that neither of the pair were wearing a life jacket at the time.

Tali was fortunately rescued by a passing boat, however following the kayak’s’ capsize it is understood that Ian has not been found.

Rescue workers were forced to call off their search yesterday evening when rough conditions were proving difficult for the crew. They explained:

"The rescue operation has been hampered by difficult river conditions but they guys are doing everything they can to locate the missing man."

They said that while time is important in situations such as this, “no one has given up hope”.

The couple are based in New York and have been seeing one another for a number of years, Annie is said to be very close to both her daughter and Ian who is a photographer.
