Carey Mulligan has given birth… but you didn’t hear it from her

Actress Carey Mulligan is a new mum, but she's keeping things on the down-low for now,

The Far From The Madding Crowd star returned to the red carpet in London last night, amid reports she has already welcomed her first child with Marcus Mumford.

According to E! News, Carey and Marcus are parents to "a healthy and happy baby," though it's unclear when their little one arrived – and whether it was a boy or a girl.

Rather than make an official pregnancy announcement back in April, 30-year-old Carey let her bump do the talking.

After seeing the English star at various events looking noticeably curvier around the stomach area, fans eventually concluded that she must be expecting.

Her loose patterned sweater gave nothing away last night, but given that Carey and Marcus are notoriously private, we doubt we'll be getting any official birth announcement either.

Posing with Meryl Streep at the opening of the BFI London Film Festival, Carey looked relaxed and happy.

"She is just enjoying this time with her family and close friends," E!'s source said.

Carey and Marcus married in 2012 in an intimate barnyard ceremony in Bridgewater, England. 

Prior to meeting Marcus, the actress dated Tranformers star Shia LeBeouf for over a year, before parting ways when it became apparent they wanted different things.

"She was chasing marriage, family, kids more than I was," Shia revealed shortly after the break-up.
