Protect your eyes from sunburn

Be honest, when picking up a pair of shades, do you go for style or the SPF it offers?

If you want to protect your eyes, you’ll definitely be going for the latter after reading this.

According to the World Health Organisation, up to 20% of cataracts (clouding of the lens inside your eye) are caused by overexposure to UV rays.

When it comes to protecting skin from the sun (most!) ladies are well versed in applying suncream, but did you know that your cornea can also burn? Sounds awful…

You can also get skin cancer on your eyelids and around the eye area.

It is important you pick up a pair of sunnies that have a UV400 label or ones that tell you they offer 100% UV protection.

Also, pick up a wide brimmed hat for extra protection – your eyes deserve it.
