SAFE: Woman seen hanging from window of Paris’s Bataclan is found

In graphic phone footage taken by a journalist during Friday night's terror attacks in Paris, one woman's fight for life was clearly visible.

Hanging from a second-storey window ledge, the pregnant woman appeared to be struggling, unable to jump down to safety or to climb back inside.

After the footage went viral and was shown on news channels across the globe, millions wondered what had become of her, and indeed, if she had made it to safety.

Thankfully, new reports confirm that the woman in question survived the attacks, after one man came to her rescue and pulled her back in through the window.

The woman, who wishes to remain unidentified as she recuperates, connected through a third party with her 'hero' on Twitter yesterday, and was able to thank him for helping her.

Her saviour, who also prefers not to reveal his identity, described to French newspaper La Provence how he had run onto the stage of the Bataclan to try and protect himself from being shot. He saw the woman hanging from a window in front of him and did his best to help her.

"She was pregnant and was pleading with the people below her to catch her if she jumped," he recalled.

"Below it was chaos. I went through the other window and attached myself to a ventilation shaft.

"I was 15 metres off the ground. I held on for five minutes then the woman, who couldn’t hold on any longer, asked me to help her get back inside.

"So that’s what I did. I don’t know where she went following that."

The man was later taken hostage but made it out safely when French police stormed the building.

At least 89 people lost their lives at the Bataclan when they were shot by gunmen wielding AK-47s and wearing suicide vests, during a concert by American rock band Eagles of Death Metal.

The shootings were part of a co-ordinated attack on Paris, which saw 40 others killed in six other locations across the city.
