Modern Family star Sarah Hyland has just announced her engagement to boyfriend of two years Wells Adams.

The proposal took place on a gorgeous beach, and luckily someone managed to capture the moment when Wells got down on one knee.

The delighted actress captioned the post: "That can't eat, can't sleep, reach for the stars, over the fence, world series kind of stuff."

Wells tweeted a video of the aftermath of his proposal, with himself and Sarah embracing after she said yes. Wells captioned the post: "I'll be Johnny, you be June. But forever."

The Johnny Cash reference seemed to go down well, with a host of celebrity pals rushing to congratulate the pair.

Vanessa Hudgens wrote: "So freaking adorable," on the post by Sarah, clearly over the moon for her friend and her fiancé.

Nick Jonas added "Congrats," while Lily Collins wrote: "Ahhhhhh congratulations! So excited for you xxx."

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale wrote; "Congrats you two!" while actress Debra Messing was quick to proclaim that they'll make gorgeous babies…
