‘I’m in rehab to save my life’ Chaka Khan is battling a drug addiction

Chaka Khan, known to the world as the Queen of Funk, has entered a rehabilitation facility as a result of an addiction to prescription pills.

Yvonne Stevens, the sister of the ten-time Grammy award winner, has also entered the rehabilitation and aftercare programme.

Chaka Khan was great friends with the late musical legend, Prince, and cited his death as her reason for seeking the help she needs.

"The tragic death of Prince has had us both rethinking and reevaluating our lives and priorities. We knew it was time to take action to save our lives. My sister and I would like to thank everyone for their support, love and prayers" she told the Associated Press on Sunday.

I LOVED him. The world LOVED him. Now, he's at peace with his Father. Rest in power, @princestagram, my brother.
