Domino’s, the nation’s best-loved pizza, is calling on the people of Ireland to nominate their Local Legends – outstanding frontline care workers who go above and beyond for their local communities – giving them a chance to get their hands on free pizza for them, their household AND their work colleagues for a whole year.
As case numbers and pressure on healthcare workers continues to rise, Domino’s wants to recognise the efforts of all the unsung heroes keeping Ireland going – no matter how you slice it, they're awesome! From emergency services to health professionals, all nominations are welcomed.
Deserving Local Legends will be drawn from across Ireland, with each being granted a monthly pizza party delivery* to savour safely within their household, every month for a year, creating a well-earned opportunity to enjoy some quality time over a cheesy hot slice or two.
As an added 'side' Domino’s wants to spread the love even further, so will also be delivering pizzas to each Local Legend’s work colleagues to relish every month too – as we know being a Local Legend is very much a team effort.
The new scheme builds on Domino’s biggest ever giveaway earlier in the year, which saw 200,000 slices of pizza donated to Feed The Heroes, Barnardos and to frontline workers both through the organisation, and directly to Garda stations, hospitals, fire units, hostels, homeless shelters, testing centres and vulnerable people within their local communities.
Dominic Paul, CEO of Domino’s Pizza Group PLC, said: “We want to say a heartfelt thank you to our amazing frontline care workers in Ireland, who continue to support us all. Knowing many of you continue to quietly put in long hours to keep things moving, no matter what life throws at us, we wanted to give the nation’s heroes a guaranteed reason to relax, reflect and enjoy some down time with their household every month."
Domino’s will be accepting nominations for Local Legends from 15th October – 30th October, with entries submitted here. The nation’s Local Legends will then be selected at random, before being announced w/c 16th November.
