A Breaking Bad actor explains how fame and pregnancy are the same

The 59-year old Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has been keeping busy since the much-loved series came to an end in 2013.

The Emmy award winner has 14 projects currently in development at his production company Moon Shot Entertainment.

The actor recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about how he’s still trying to find his groove after playing the role of a lifetime on the fan favourite series. After his run as Walter White admits that he has certainly become more recognisable, which is something he’s not quite used to.

“I've been really poor, foreclose-on-your-house poor. And I've been rich. Rich is better. But I'm just now starting to get used to the hour of fame.”

He explains that now that he has spent more time in the spotlight, he is approached by fans much more often. Apparently, not all of them want to shower him with praise either.

He explains: “they have this sensibility where they feel comfortable coming up to you and saying, "You know that thing you did? I didn't like that movie."

When asked does he like his ‘hour of fame’, he had an interesting response:

“Being [famous] is almost like being a pregnant woman. People think they can just put their hand on your belly and tell you, "Oh, you're going to have a boy!"

He likened it to having “a complete stranger fondling you.” Pleasant.

He explained that while it’s not always congratulations that people want to pass on to him, he just glad that people are watching his projects.

“I'd rather have people fiercely angry with me so long as they're moved to some emotion.”
