5 very good reasons you should cut down on coffee

Most people love a cup of coffee, perhaps one or two a day, but there are those whose love of coffee stretches a bit further than that…

So, what is the motivation to cut down on coffee and why should you bother?

Here are some reasons you should consider cutting down to one cup of coffee a day:

1. Save money
If you love to pop by the coffee shop on your way to work or college, and you do this every day, at an average coffee price of €2.50 you are spending around €652.50 a YEAR – yikes! You know what else €652.50 is? A stunning designer handbag, that's what.

2. Better sleep
Caffeine is a stimulant, so if you have trouble sleeping, then ditching the black stuff could majorly improve your night's sleep, resulting in better focus.

3. It's addictive
At the end of the day, it's never good to NEED a crutch to get you through the day. No, it isn't the worst thing you could be relying on, that goes without saying but time and time again we hear people say: "don't talk to me before my coffee" or "I can't think without coffee" which isn't exactly ideal, is it?

4. Less headaches
Coffee is known to cause more headaches, because as people become dependent on it, caffeine withdrawal manifests itself in a throbbing headache. Not cool.

5. Whiter teeth
These days, many of us are worried about the appearance of our teeth, and go to great lengths to get and keep them as white as possible. Coffee is one of the worst culprits for staining your teeth and even turning them yellow – eek! So, if you want whiter teeth, put down that mug!
