‘We hear you’: Ticketmaster is shutting down Seatwave
Ticketmaster have released news that are shutting down their ticket re-sale site, Seatwave.
Seatwave, which was acquired by Ticketmaster three years ago, allowed fans to sell tickets to sold-out gigs within minutes of purchase.
They were also allowed to set their own price – which was often way above the original ticket cost.
Today, however, the ticket selling site released a statement announcing that Seatwave is no more, saying they are "tired of seeing others snap up tickets just to resell for profit."

In its place, the website will launch a new "fan-to-fan" exchange system where people can sell tickets at face-value or less.
"The new website will be rolled out in Europe early next year," they wrote on a blog post. "But from today, there will be no new events listed on Seatwave."
"We’re excited about making ticketing simpler. All you need to think about are those incredible experiences you’ll never forget."
The news comes after Cabinet approved a new ticket touting law in July. The new law would ban the resale of tickets in venues with a capacity of over 1,000.
