Buffy star Nicholas Brendon has been arrested for the second time after trashing a hotel room, just days after his four-month marriage came to an end.
The actor caused $450 (€396) worth of damage to his room and also refused to pay his food and drink bill which totalled nearly $380 (€335), according to police reports obtained by TMZ.
Nicholas, who played Xander Harris in the popular teen show, was staying in Florida for an appearance at a comic book convention when he caused the damage.
After being arrested on suspicion of grand theft, Nicholas tweeted the convention's organisers, Shock Pop Comicon, saying they hadn't looked after him well enough. In a now-deleted tweet, the actor wrote, "Hey T**tters! I'm stuck in Ft Lauderdale w/no per diem. No hotel. No ride to the airport. Thanks @Shockpopcc."
Nicholas' manager, Andrea Albin, took to the actor's official Facebook page to make a statement about his behaviour.
"We're aware of the arrest. We appreciate the love. We want nothing more than for Nick to focus on his health and personal well being at this time," she wrote. "Everyone makes mistakes- and we hope to help him succeed at life in every possible way."
A rep for the star told TMZ that he is "battling a disease that many of us don't understand" and that he is "sorry for his actions and takes what happened last night very seriously."
The news comes just five days after it was revealed that Nicholas' shock marriage to Moonda Tee had ended. The pair got engaged last October and exchanged vows in Las Vegas that same week.
"I am officially announcing that Nicholas and his wife, Moonda Tee, have parted ways," wrote Andrea on Nicholas' Facebook page. "Nicholas expressed that Moonda is truly a ‘beautiful person’ and that he ‘wishes her the best that life has to offer.’"
We hope Nicholas has a good support network looking after him at this time.
