Right, everyone get to Monaghan ASAP.

Conroy Gold and Natural Resources has confirmed the discovery of a gold deposits in soil near Rockcorry in Co. Monaghan.

The company released a statement that said "an extensive 700m by 300m gold-in-soil anomaly" had been discovered. This revealed that there are four gold-in-soil samples above 20 parts per billion, and a further five above 10 parts per billion.

So basically, this confirms that there is gold to be found in Monaghan!

Professor Richard Conroy, chairman for the company said “this discovery confirms the gold potential of the company’s licences in the area lying between the company’s existing gold targets.”

The new findings are about 14KM southwest of Clontibret where the company is proposing to develop their first gold mine in the area. Yes, an actual gold mine. Could we finally be leaving the austerity woes behind us? Maybe!

The discovery adds further evidence to the continuity of a gold trend that runs from County Armagh, across Monaghan and Cavan. Jackpot!
