World Record Egg got a makeover, so the internet has basically peaked

by

Unless you have living under a WIFI repellant rock for the fist month of the year, you may have noticed a notable increase in the amount of eggs that have been featuring on your social media.

It all kicked off with the World Record Breaking egg, which aimed to beat Kylie Jenner for the most liked Instagram picture in history. It far surpassed it's goal of over 18 million likes, which Kylie received for the announcement of her newborn daughter, and currently has over 51 million likes.

The egg has featured heavily in popular culture since, with Miley Cyrus referencing the phenomenon in her pregnancy denial.

Now, the egg is being repurposed by the beauty community on social media.

A video is currently going viral, created by Russian beauty influencer Sonya Miro, which showcases the egg receiving a very glamorous makeover.

The egg is treated to a full face of high glam makeup, complete with eyelashes.

Miro uses high-end products for the project from Huda Beauty – including the Obsessions eyeshadow palette and the #FauxFilter foundation, which has a cult user base.

Sonya posted the video to her 400,000 followers, where it has received almost 700,000 views, but we';re sure it's only a matter of time before it is posted to the Huda Beauty Instagram page, which showcases the best viral beauty content to a community of 31.8 million followers.

The makeup skills demonstrated in the video are seriously impressive, with Miro carving our cheekbones, a nose, and eye sockets using shading.

The MUA opted for a striking glitter cut-crease with long fluffy lashes for the eye look, and a glittery lip method.

Miro's virality has encouraged a number of fellow MUAs to try the trend, to equally beautiful and odd results.

While slightly egg-centric, the trend is undoubtedly hypnotic, and eerily relaxing in a way that only footage of someone contouring a food product could be.
