‘Over the moon’: Corrie’s Sam Aston and wife expecting a baby boy
Coronation Street star Sam Aston and his wife Briony are set to welcome their first child into the world in the coming months. The parents-to-be just revealed the sex of their unborn child in an interview with OK! Magazine, and it's safe to say the actor is overjoyed.
"We're having a boy! It was a massive surprise when we found out, as there are loads of girls in our families, so we were adamant we were having a girl."
Briony shared, "We found out the day before lockdown. Sam couldn't come with me because of the current rules, so I got the consultant to write the sex on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope and we both then sat in the car and opened it together. We were over the moon."
The soap star and his wife confirmed they were expecting their first child in May.
The actor joked about his character Chesney, who is father to quads on the show, "We’re glad it’s not quads like Chesney! One’s perfect and just enough for now.”
Briony is not due to give birth until September, but the parents have already chosen a name for their baby boy. They teased, "It's a five letter name though, my family keep guessing or trying to guess what the name is."
We cannot wait to find out their chosen moniker!
