Dublin student lauded for creation of a Netflix-inspired exercise bike

Ladies, all hail your new hero, Ronan Byrne.

The Irish lad, who attends the Dublin Institute of Technology, has designed an exercise bike which will allow you to binge-watch Netflix… as long as you continue pedalling, that is.

Cycflix, which is currently in proptype stages, will alert the user that their TV show or movie will come to an end if they don't continue to pedal thereby encouraging the individual to maintain a steady pace in order to stay up to date with their chosen storylines.

Elaborating on the design on his blog, Ronan wrote: "It uses a stationary exercise bike connected to an Arduino Nano to control the streaming of Netflix on a PC."

"The main gist of the project is that, at the click of a button and some user input, Firefox will open and play Netflix and monitor your speed for the workout routine you designed."

"If you are going below the speed for too long, Netflix will be paused until you get back up to speed," he added.

Sharing a video of his design on YouTube, Ronan has received considerable support from internet users impressed by his idea.

"This is f*cking clever. Congratulations!" wrote one while another added: "This is just brilliant!"

Thoughts, ladies?
