Boyband star files for bankruptcy after failed comeback tour

UK boyband Blue were the heartthrobs of the early Noughties, with a string of hit singles and sold-out gigs, but it seems their fortune has all but disappeared with the news that a THIRD member of the band has now declared bankruptcy.

Antony Costa, who has just become a father for the second time, said that filing for bankruptcy was the right decision for him and his family.

"I am really proud to be a father and the arrival of my new daughter has made me take a good look at my finances," the former singer told The Sun. "I want to be sure I can provide the best possible future for my family."

Antony’s fellow Blue members Duncan and Simon made the same move last year, after the band’s failed comeback tour.

Earlier this year we reported that the band’s management firm had reported earnings of just £77 in 2013, following a hugely publicised comeback tour with Atomic Kitten, 5ive and Liberty X.

Though the claims were denied at the time, it seems money really is tight for the former pop stars.
