Ed Sheeran charmed us on the Late Late – he even wants to move here!

Ed Sheeran was Ireland's sweetheart last night – not only did he perform at the first of four sold-out concerts at the Three Arena, he also appeared on The Late Late Show

The 23-year-old had pre-recorded the interview with Tubs earlier in the day, before heading off to the gig – for which he wore an Irish football jersey. Aaaw!

The star charmed grannies across the nation with his totally adorable interview, revealing he loves Ireland and that it's one of his favourite places to perform.

Ed even admitted he'd love to end up in Ireland one day, to be closer to his family. "“All my family is moving back to Ireland now. I would love to live here. But I don’t necessarily live anywhere at the moment," he told Ryan. "Later down the line when I actually have time to stay somewhere though – I’d love to live here." Any chance you'll invite us over for a cuppa, Ed?

And, if that wasn't enough reason for us to start calling him an honorary Irishman, Ed also confessed that his guilty TV pleasure is Love/Hate – and he's a big fan of Nidge!

His obsession started when Taylor Swift's crew showed him a few episodes while on tour in 2013. "I was on tour with Taylor for most of last year. All her tour crew are Irish – and they had it all on an external hard drive," he said. "I’m not sure if that’s legal – but I bought the DVD. I got it, I watched it three times… Nidge is such a calm, cool character."

Ryan then surprised the singer with a signed copy of the show's box set – we're kinda jealous!
