We’re currently in the throes of Christmas Party season. Getting the balance right can be hard. Deliveroo can’t help you strategise when to tan and wash your hair, but they can help the best know we know how, with food!

The office party isn’t the same without a few cool beverages, whether for something to do or to calm the nerves.

As we eagerly count down the days to Christmas Holidays, Deliveroo has noticed that most 9-5’ers will be hanging up the keyboards on a Friday this year. We’ll be mad to hit the road.

This Christmas, Deliveroo for Business is giving one lucky worker the chance to be crowned the ‘Office Hero’ and win their colleagues the ultimate Office Christmas Party, with 0% Beer Fear.

Recent trends uncovered from the Deliveroo database have shown a steady increase in non-alcoholic beverage orders from restaurants across Ireland – Deliveroo partners are responding.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro launched its first alcohol-free beer this year, Peroni Libera 0.0%, which is available on Deliveroo. Building on the trend for mindful alcohol consumption as part of a balanced lifestyle.

Inspired by the rise of 0% alcohol orders, Deliveroo for Business is stepping in this year and making one lucky worker the Office Hero with the Soberest Christmas Party ever. While it’s up to your co-workers whether they drink or not, it’s unanimous that everyone is united in the love of party food, especially when it comes from some of the best restaurants in Ireland.

A spokesperson for Deliveroo said: “The apprehension around Christmas Parties is proving itself year on year. It’s amazing to see Ireland changing the stereotype with more people opting for non-alcoholic options and to see our restaurants stocking them.

“For Deliveroo, it’s a great opportunity to be able to give back to a hard-working office and give them a Christmas Party or End of Year celebration that is hopefully more suitable and memorable for all,” they continued.

To be in with a chance, here’s what you need to do. E-mail, officehero@deliveroo.ie, explaining why you deserve to be the Office Hero (creativity encouraged) and win the ultimate Office Christmas Party for your colleagues, all thanks to Deliveroo for Business.

Deliveroo for Business allows companies and employees alike to say goodbye to lacklustre office catering and hello Taco Tuesdays! Armed with your own Account Manager, have your favourite meals delivered to you on company time. Whether it be late night working, client meetings, team training or Christmas Parties.

Being named ‘Office Hero’ might not gain you a promotion, however, it can guarantee you some delicious food and drinks.

Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague were the runners up of this years' Love Island series, but ex Islander Elma Pazar has given her opinion on why they didn't take the crown.

20-year-old boxer Tommy and 19-year-old influencer Molly were beaten to the £50,000 prize by Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea, and Elma explained that the runners up were dull to watch.

The 26-year-old eyelash technician said; "For me personally, Amber and Greg deserved to win. I'm really happy for Tommy and Molly that they came second, they were a solid couple all the way through."

Amber and Greg found each other after Michael Griffiths broke the 21-year-old Geordie girl's heart in shockingly douchebag fashion.

Essex gal Elma added; "But in a sense, I think because they were just a guaranteed couple, they didn’t bring much drama after a while.

"It’s nice for them, obviously you don’t want to have drama when you’re in a relationship."

Elma left the villa single, but dispelled claims that viewers assumed that Molly-Mae was faking her love for Tommy through non-existent tears.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, she said: "I know Molly got a lot of stick about not being genuine and stuff but I do honestly think that Amber and Greg were the rightful winners, especially Amber."

Molly recently hit out at co-star Belle Hassan after she accused Molly of being 'two faced' in the final week.

She said her comments were a "shame" insisting: "There were no tactics used at all. Absolutely none. People can say what they want."

Herself and boyfriend Tommy Fury voted to send Belle and Anton Danyluk home, leading to them being dumped from the show by the public before the final.

21-year-old Belle said: "I think Molly has too many opinions sometimes. I really get on with Molly, but she can be a little bit two faced."

Tommy defended their join decision, and said: "We put Anton and Belle in the bottom three, but it was the public who voted Anton and Belle out. It wasn't us. It was the voters who did that."

Fair point. Belle saying the move was 'tactical' doesn't mean much, considering the entire show is a competition for a huge cash prize…

EVERYONE deserves someone who looks at you the way Lady Gaga looks at Bradley Cooper, okay? Everyone. It's so pure.

The multi-talented songstress won Best Original Song for Shallow, the leading tune from A Star Is Born starring Gaga and Cooper as a musical duo who fall in love.

The world was waiting for their performance at the Dolby theatre last night, and it certainly lived up to its expectations.

We're all shooketh, just look at how intimate this performance is. Most definitely Oscar-worthy, and Gaga's speech for Best Original Song blew the audience away.

"I want to thank my family, my mum, my sister I love you, Bradley," she cried on stage.

"This is hard work…but if you have a dream, fight for it. It's not about how many times you get rejected, or fall down or get beaten up. it's about how many times you stand, are brave and keep on going."

YAS GAGA.

The reaction from both the celebs in the audience and Twitter was hilarious, with the world having an emotional meltdown at just how perfect she is as a performer. She deserves this recognition.

The chemistry between the duo, who play Ally and Jackson Maine in the Cooper-directed fim, is palpable on stage and on screen. Fans desperately want their love to succeed in real life too…

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that Victoria's Secret model Irina Shayk, Bradley Cooper's baby mama and partner, had sat herself between Gaga and Bradley. Strategic much?

(*Break up with your girlfriend, I'm bored* plays softly in the background…)

Jennifer Hudson certainly was vibin' with Gaga's speech, which was uplifting as predicted. The star has only just broken off her engagement to former talent manager Christian Carino.

Her $400,000 pink diamand ring was nowhere in sight, unfortunately. Congrats Gaga, we heart you for all that you do, carry on gal.

Katie Taylor has won her third boxing fight in a row, after taking out Monica Gentili in London last night.

The Bray native came out swinging and set the pace for most of the fight, swinging mainly head and abdomen shots towards Monica.

In the third round, Katie stepped it up a notch, coming at Monica with major aggression. The Italian fighter stood her own, but it was clear that Katie was a rank above the rest.

It then all came down to the fifth and final round, when Katie unleashed a fierce combination of knocks that sealed her victory.

It'll only be three weeks until we see the Dub fight again, as she's taking to the ring in Manchester.

Congrats, Katie!

We love a good gig here in Shemazing! HQ, but this one looks set to be the gig of the year – and it's for a brilliant cause.

Syria's Vibes, a non-profit campaign to raise much needed funds for Syrian medical supplies and children is launching a music event on the three floors of the Grand Social with live performances and top DJs set to take the stage at 8.00pm on October 7.

The event is hosted by Dubliner DJ Calvin James Sweeney, co-founder of The SCOOP Foundation (Supporting Children Out of Poverty) who has spent the last 6 months living and volunteering as a medical assistant in Syria.

The foundation aims to draw on the universally shared passion for music by hosting DJ events and asking musicians and the general public alike to hold their own events with the aim to generate as many donations as possible.

Acts set to perform next Friday are:

  • Interskalactic (9 piece ska / party band)
  • Contour (electronic)
  • Zaska (8 piece funk)
  • Dogs (electronica)
  • DJ Deece
  • Malibu Club
  • Calvin James
  • Charlie Garrett
  • Long Island Sound
  • AJ
  • Boots & Kats

If you fancy heading along to the gig, we have TWO VIP passes up for grabs over on our Facebook and Instagram page.

The prize includes attendance for two at the VIP pre dinner in the neighbouring Woollen Mills restaurant, 2 passes for the Syria’s Vibes event and a copy of the highly anticipated SCOOP Art cook book which provides recipes which combine passions of both food and art for a very worthy cause.

We'll be there. Will you?

We boast many fine locations on this island.

From our wonderful park-lands, dramatic coastlines and rolling fields, to world-class libraries and ancient castles, we can proudly lay claim to plenty of internationally-renowned tourist gems.

But just for a moment image this: we cherry-pick the best of the rest from the most fun and fabulous attractions around the world… and create our very own (superior!) versions just for the people of this great land to enjoy on their doorstep…

1) Disneyland Drogheda

Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, Orlando… they ALL have a Walt Disney theme-park packed full of fun. And now it’s Ireland’s turn.

Located just off the M1, Disneyland Drogheda would boast its very own Space Mountain, Cinderella Castle and Animal Kingdom experience, as well as head-turning daily parades and spectacular firework displays.

2) Circuit de Moneygall, Offaly

A vital new addition to the Formula 1 racing schedule – Circuit de Moneygall would be a world-class circuit holding a Grand Prix to rival Silverstone, Monza, and Monaco.

Conveniently positioned in Moneygall – a town, of course, made famous by Barack Obama – it would have state-of-the-art facilities for drivers, teams, media, and spectators.

3) Sydney Parade Opera House, Dublin

Hosting the crème de la crème of the entertainment world, Sydney Parade Opera House would sit proudly in Dublin Bay over-looking the water.

With acts and performers arriving from Broadway and the West End, Ireland would enjoy year-round second-to-none concerts, shows, and gigs.

4) Wet ‘n’ Wild, Athlone

A water-park to rival the world's biggest and the best, Wet ‘n’ Wild Athlone would attract a steady-stream of international tourists.

Sitting on the expansive Lough Ree, highlights would include tube and freefall slides, lazy and wave pools, as well as top-notch water-sport facilities.

5) Lusk Vegas, Dublin

North county Dublin’s answer to the City Of Lights, this resort would boast Ireland’s very own Bellagio and Caesar’s Palace hotels, as well as a Little White Chapel perfect for a quick and easy wedding ceremony.

Furthermore, casinos and restaurants would be bathed in bright neon lights along the glittering Lusk Vegas Strip.

6) The Rink at Blackrockefeller Center, Cork

Complete with its trademark 5.5metres-tall gilded bronze sculpture of Prometheus, The Rink at Blackrockefeller Center would understandably be a major draw to Cork – quickly rivalling its Manhattan counterpart as the world’s most iconic place to ice-skate.

At Christmas it would really come into its own, sporting a 30metre-tall Norway spruce fir complete with oodles of festival lighting and decorations.

7) The Letterkenny Eye, Donegal

Nestled on the River Swilly and extending to an impressive 150metres tall, the Letterkenny Eye would be a Ferris wheel to rival all others.

Attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists to the town, the wheel would soon be established as the very symbol of Donegal.

8) Palm Islands, Rosslare

The sunny south-east would be the perfect place for Ireland’s answer to Dubai’s spectacular coastline extension.

Palm Island, Rosslare would accommodate a stunning complex of five-star residential units, leisure and entertainment attractions, as well as hundreds of kilometres of unspoilt sandy white beaches and palm trees.

But if you assume these dreams are all a little too far-fetched – think again. That’s because of tonight’s incredible EuroMillions draw. A cool €130million to dream not just big, but monumentally so… allowing the winner to #ShareTheDream with the wider community.

Be quick though: you have until 7.30pm this evening to play EuroMillions a retail agent outlets, via lottery.ie, or using the National Lottery app.
