Tributes are pouring in for tennis star Andy Murray after a tearful press conference addressing his possible retirement.

The former world number one has claimed that retirement is imminent following injuries which have plagued him for years, especially that of his hip.

Speaking about the upcoming Australian Open, Murray broke down in tears as he said it could be his last tournament.

The three-time Grand Slam winner has broken himself in order to keep up with arguably tennis' greatest generation, with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer hot on his heels all the time.

Murray was emotional as he spoke about this summer's Wimbledon tournament, saying; “I'm not sure I'm able to play through the pain for another four or five months.”

The Scotsman has won the beloved British tournament twice, and wants to finish his career in the place where he won his first ever Grand Slam.

He couldn't hold back the tears at the conference, after years of intensive physiotherapy and surgeries to try and maintain his status as one of the world's top players.

"I said to my team I think I can get through this until Wimbledon – that's when I'd like to stop playing,” he said.

Tributes have been coming in fast for the player and iconic feminist, among them is one from the infamous 39-time Grand Slam winner Billie Jean King;

Fellow player and BFF Nick Kyrgios posted a touching tribute to his 'brother' and 'old friend' Andy, and our hearts legitimately shattered;

Murray has become a low-key feminist icon after consistently defending female tennis players battling the notorious sexist in the sport, such as Serena Williams.

He has argued for women's rights in the sport in numerous press conferences, and has battled sexist questions from journalists throughout his career. SLAY ANDY.

During Wimbledon in 2017, Murray called on schedulers to give women more opportunities to play on the main show courts.

Let's not forget his unreal take-down of a reporter who claimed a male player was "the first US player to reach a major semi-final since 2009," even though Venus and Serena Williams as well as three other female players had achieved this.

YAS ANDY. SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK

He's also renowned for his blunt Scottish wit;

We love you Andy, never change.

Congratulations for all that you've achieved in the tennis world, you'll be remembered as one of the greats.

It is well known that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has a close friendship with tennis star, Serena Williams. The two have been seen spending time together on many occasions.

But how did they first meet? The pairs first interaction was reported to be during the 2010 Super Bowl in Florida.

Meghan said, "We hit it off immediately, taking pictures, laughing through the flag football game we were both playing in […] So began our friendship.”

The women stayed in close contact, grabbing lunch when they were in the same town and texting often with one another. The Duchess reflected on their friendship, saying “what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations — our endless ambition."

As powerful public figures, we can see why this dynamic duo get on so well, and it was no surprise when Meghan was in attendance at Wimbledon two days ago. She turned up for her dear friend, Serena, cheering her on throughout the tournament.

Unfortunately, Serena’s loss was devastating, but her following speech portrayed her defeat as just a small obstacle. Through her husband’s (and Meghan’s) support she is determined to come back even stronger next year.

Serena explained that she and the Duchess have always encouraged one another. The tennis pro said, “Now she’s supporting me in a different role but our friendship is still exactly the same.” During Serena’s post-game speech, Meghan was spotted with teary eyes in the audience. She was proud of her friend’s performance and moved by her words.

Earlier this year, Serena also showed her support for the Duchess by attending her royal wedding with Prince Harry.

Serena said that their friendship has remained the exact same since the royal wedding.

It is fantastic to see two strong women be so uplifting. A genuine friendship is hard to foster underneath the public eye, but we are happy to see that Meghan and Serena have not wavered in their affection for one another.

Watching celebs live their lavish lives at Wimbledon, while you slug away at your 9-5 job is no easy feat.

The glamour, the fashion, the food, and of course, the alcohol, is flowing from start to finish.

Well, WILDE in Dublin has created a Wimbledon inspired drink and it sounds totally delish.

The Harry Street spot is serving up a fab Pimms Cooler with earl grey tea, cucumber, basil and strawberries for you to enjoy on the restaurant's terrace.

We've all been there – You're at an event with your other half, and he says or does something so damn questionable you wonder how the pair of you ever made it past the first date.

Thankfully, it's not just us mere mortals who have to endure these public bust-ups as Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk proved at Wimbledon this weekend.

While watching the men's final yesterday, 30-year-old Irina looked distinctly put out by her boyfriend in a series of moments which unsurprisingly made their way onto social media.

41-year-old Bradley, who has been dating Irina for more than a year, could be seen trying – and failing –  to lighten the mood between the pair in an incident that will ring a bell with anyone in a relationship.

While Irina looked the other way and resorted to reading a book – upside down – so as not to engage with the actor, Bradley, on the other hand, kept a tense smile plastered on his face and did the ol' 'This will blow over in no time har har har' grin at anyone who happened to sense the atmosphere.

If reports currently doing the rounds are to be believed, Irina's bad mood may have a little something to do with the presence of Bradley's ex Suki Waterhouse at the famous sporting event this weekend.

Having taken Suki to his first ever Wimbledon in 2013, Irina might have been feeling a little put out after running into the actress at the game yesterday.

Or maybe she was just hangry – who knows?

It's a good day for Serena Williams, she has just taken home the trophy in Wimbledon.

In the captivating final, Serena beat Germany's Angelique Kerber 7-5 to 6-3.

It's the youngest Williams sister's 22nd grand slam title and we're sure Venus is over the moon for her sibling.

We're big fans of Princess Kate around these parts – so today we've been pretty ecstatic at the news that the British royal has just made her SnapChat debut.

And while sadly, the 34-year-old hasn't set up her own profile just yet (imagine the totes adorbs snaps of George and Charlotte!), she did appear on the social media platform via winning semi-finalist Serena Williams's account.

Hurrah!

In the video, which was taken at Wimbledon earlier today, the Duchess Of Cambridge can be seen rocking a bright yellow dress from Roskanda alongside the clearly delighted tennis superstar.

Sophie, Countess Of Wessex is also in attendance and after Kate beckons for her to join the party-of-two, she can also be seen smiling warmly for the footage.

And while the wife of Prince Wills is evidently rocking her best 'I'm not so sure about this but I better just play along' face – with Ms Williams, Wimbledon's current defending champion, is relishing the moment.

Indeed, at one stage she announces: "OK so I'm in the in crowd now… I'm with royalty!"

With Serena now through to Saturday's final, and with the Duchess due to make further SW19 appearances over the course of the final few days of the competition, here's to hoping we can nab another few SnapChat sneak-peaks of Kate.

Our favourite tennis competition of the year is fully under way, and the celebrities have begun to flock to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in south London.

The Wimbledon Championships, which is celebrating its 139th year, is a beacon for the who's who of popular culture.

Leading the pack this year is the beautiful Australian actress Rebel Wilson. The pitch perfect star arrived on Monday afternoon, rocking a green and white dress, paired with a chic white biker jacket, in keeping with the tennis theme.

The hilarious Wilson, 36, is currently based in London, where she will make her West End debut this month as Miss Adelaide in a production of Guys and Dolls

Pippa Middleton was also in attendance on the first day of this historical sporting competition. The Aunt of England's future king looked stunning in a white dress decorated with poppies, paired with a red clutch and simple white heels.

We are so excited the rest of the fabulous style throughout the tennis season!

Tennis champion Maria Sharapova has confirmed she does not wish to retire from the sport, and hopes to play again, despite having just failed a major doping test.

The 28-year-old, who is currently the world's highest-paid female athlete, announced the doping news in front of a packed press conference in Los Angeles this evening.

She explained that she had received word from the International Tennis Federation that she tested positive for the banned substance meldonium at the Australian Open in January 2016.

Meldonium was added to the Federation's official banned substance list at the beginning of January, but Maria said it had been prescribed to her by her family doctor for the last ten years.

"I've made a huge mistake," she told the gathered media.

"I know that with this I face consequences… I don’t want to end my career this way and I hope that I will have a chance to play again."

Meldonium is thought to increase endurance, improve rehabilitation after exercise, and protect the body against stress.

Many press outlets had predicted that Maria's "major announcement" would be related to her retirement, but she assured them this was not the case – and did so quite sassily indeed.

"I know many of you thought that I would be announcing my retirement but if I was ever going to… it would probably not be in a downtown Los Angeles hotel with this fairly ugly carpet."

Maria has won five Grand Slam singles titles and has won each of the four major tournaments – the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the United States Open – at least once.

Back in 2009 at the royal wedding, the crowds got a little bit distracted when they set eyes on Kate Middleton's stunning sister, Pippa, and it seems the same thing may have happened again.

It's no surprise that Kate would have stunning siblings, but that still didn't stop us being in complete shock and awe when we spotted her brother attending Wimbledon yesterday.

James Middleton caught the attention of Twitter yesterday when he was spotted watching the tennis from the royal box on centre court.

The photos from the royal christening were released this week, but it seems that baby Charlotte was completely outshone by someone else, her uncle's beard.

Sadly, James and his beard are not on the market. He has been dating actress Donna Air for two years.

Wimbledon kicked off last week, and since then has seen a host of celebrity attendees.

We have been waiting patiently each day to see which celebrities turn up, and it seems the closer we get to the final, the more celebs we see.

Will and Kate left the kids at home today as they attended the Andy Murray match in the All English tennis law club today. Kate, who is known for her Wimbledon attire, wore an elegant red, knee length, L.K Bennett dress.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were seen cheering on Andy Murray in the quarter-final match as they chatted and laughed with each other, while other members of the royal family also sat in the royal box alongside them.

Also in attendance today, was former English footballer David Beckham with his son Romeo. The father and son wore matching outfits of white shirts and navy blazers and looked adorable sitting side-by-side smiling in the crowd.

The 12-year-old model was the only one out of four of David and Victoria's kids to be at the match today but we are hoping more of them make an appearance before the competition is over.

John Legend took a break from his European tour yesterday for a little court-side relaxation with his wife Chrissy Tiegan. The pair went to see number one player in the world, Serena Williams, as she battled it out with her sister Venus yesterday. Serena's players box was clearly reserved for celebrities only as a few seats down from the power couple was champagne papi, Drake.

Looking extremely Dapper, Bear Grylls along-side his wife Shara were spotted today cheering on Andy Murray. Bear looked handsome wearing a tailored navy suit with a crisp white shirt.

Hollywood heart throb Bradley Cooper was sitting with Mirka Federer as Roger played on court one. Bradley was seen attending Wimbledon last year with now ex-girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, but by the looks of things, he doesn't seem to be missing her.

Staying at the swish Kensington Hotel, where rooms start at €400 a night and go up to €3,150 for a suite, Amy Huberman and Brian O'Driscoll are certainly making the most of their mini-break in London.

They got to see all the court-side action at Wimbledon yesterday – and today they're back for more.

Amy is wearing a Saxony dress from Zoe Jordan's current collection; the number sports a striking asymmetrical hem and a glacial-print pattern. It's currently priced at €1,450, having been reduced from €2,080.

Yesterday, she was also in Joe Jordan, this time in Bruges shorts, €240, and a matching Eine top, €225 – both in tonic-print. She teamed her outfit with Bourbon shoes, a label with which she has several successful design collaborations.

The first Saturday of Wimbledon – dubbed 'middle Saturday' – has traditionally been the day when stars from the world of sport attend matches on Centre Court; hence Brian's invite to the famed Royal Box.

Today they will watch games from Roger Federer, Petra Kvitova, and Andy Murray.

Fellow rugby legends in attendance include Matt Dawson and Stuart Lanchester, as well as soccer's Gary Linekar.

Unsurprisingly for an athlete who remains so enduringly popular more than a year after his retirement, Brian received a warm round of applause when he was introduced to the crowd this afternoon.

Yesterday, Bod wore a grey suit from Tommy Hilfiger, which he teamed with a blue-striped suit and blue tie.

He and his wife, who celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary on Thursday, have long been tennis fans, and have over the years frequented the Grand Slam competition whenever their schedules allow.

And this year, Amy can even indulge in a glass of champagne or cool Pimm's; when the duo attended the 2014 tournament she was four months pregnant with their second child, a son Billy, who was born in November. They also have a two-and-a-half year old daughter, Sadie.

Earlier today, the author and actress shared a stunning shot of their hotel's staircase, joking that she was tempted to slide down the bannister.

Want to slide down this so bad @hotelkensington it's so pretty!

Following the birth of their second child, they've been very much hiding out in their country abode, Amner Hall.

However, it seems that our favourite royal pairing, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are about to make an unofficial appearance this week – namely at Wimbledon.

Wills and Kate have visited the All England Tennis club on many occasions over the past number of years, sitting in the Royal Box (natch) on Centre Court.

In fact, aside from the tennis itself, Kate’s court-side fashion is pretty much the most important thing going on at Wimbledon this fortnight.

The British queen-in-waiting, who gave birth to Princess Charlotte on May 2, was in attendance when Scotland's Andy Murray won an Olympic gold medal on Wimbledon turf in 2012. And she visited several times last year – when defending champion Mr Murray lost in the quarter finals.

So with the Grand Slam tournament beginning this week, we've decided to look back at some of Kate’s most stylish Wimbledon moments:

In this white lace wonder by Australian designer, Zimmerman, Catherine really stood out from the crowd at last year's competition

Also last year, we love this pop of colour from designer Jonathan Saunders and would like to see something similar for the '15 tournament

Kate looks effortlessly elegant in this Alexander McQueen dress while cheering on Andy Murray in 2012

This white Alice Temperley dress sold out within minutes of Duchess Catherine walking onto Centre Court in 2011

PS… We also need the Cambridges to go along because their matching facials expressions are seriously adorable!

OK, so did they rehearse these?
