twilight

Cast your minds back to the white wood panelled house from Twilight, the iconic supernatural tale of a high school girl falling in love with a (monotonous) vampire named Edward Cullen.

Bella Swan was a misfit character who spends a lot of time cooped up in her room, which is later visited creepily by Edward. The 2008 movie launched the careers of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

Luckily for any die-hard fans of the franchise, the iconic home was set in rainy Washington State and is now available to rent on Airbnb.

The famous house is referred to as the Twilight Swan House on the app, and was featured as the home of Charlie and Bella Swan in the films.

The charming 1930s home is located in downtown Saint Helens, a quiet neighbourhood, and is within distance to the riverfront and only a short drive away from Portland.

You can literally recreate all of the most memorable scenes from the infamous flick, which spawned three other films in the series and was adapted from the books by Stephanie Meyer.

Do we all remember Bella's bedroom being visited in the night by Edward while the protagonist was asleep? Wouldn't that seem extremely creepy now? It 100 percent would. Jus' sayin'.

There is a two-night minimum label on the house, with discounts applied for one-week stays or longer. The house costs a cool $330 per night on off-peak days, and $440 per night on Fridays and Saturdays.

It's pretty steep to stay there, but bear in mind that you'd be renting the entire gaff. That means you're better off getting a massive gang of Twilight addicts to head on the experience with you, and to lower the price.

As Jess says; "Need to get my twilight bitches together for the trip of a lifetime."

The fans have spotted the house online, and needless to say, were extremely excited about the possibility of sleeping in the home of their teenage obsession.

"Will be taking myself on a date of ultimate and complete pleasure there, see ya," wrote Ellisa. Power to you, girl.

We feel like we're 14-years-old again, foaming at the mouth to get our hands on a sparkly vampire or an overheated, long-haired werewolf. The hormones were RAGING.

"What if we kissed in Bella Swan's house…I'm just kidding…unless?" another fan wrote. These people are deathly serious about this house, and you should be too. It's our adolescence in building form.

The house sleeps ten guests, according to their Airbnb description, and has five bedrooms, five beds, and one bathroom. Some fans on Twitter were highly stressed out by the idea of five bedrooms and only one full bathroom, as were we.

The Airbnb owners are Amber and Dean, and are superhosts. That's a good sign that this isn't a hoax. We wonder if the house is a lil bit chilly, for the Jacobs to cool down, or if the heating is on blast for Edward?

Finally: A moment of silence for how hilarious the scene of Charlie meeting Edward was:

That’s right, Twilight fans! Stephanie Meyer just announced that she has two more Twilight books on the way.

This is following on from the massive success which Meyer’s most recent novel received. Midnight Sun, which is Twilight told through Edward’s perspective, was released on August 4, and ended up selling more than a million copies in its first week, encouraging Meyer that the Twihard fan-base are still completely devoted.

Meyer announced in a livestream event with Books-A-Million that she’s working on two more Twilight books, which are currently in progress. “There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write. I have got them outlined and a chapter written, I think of the first one, so I know it's there,” Stephanie said.

However, it’s anticipated that these two new Twilight books won’t be in Edward’s perspective, following on from Midnight Sun. Stephanie said in an interview with The New York Times that writing in his point of view was not a super pleasant experience.

“This is it for Edward. Writing from his point of view makes me extra anxious. I think this gives you enough of a sense of what it’s like to be Edward that you could go and look at the other books and you would know what’s going on in his head,” Meyer stated.

Before you get too excited though, you probably shouldn’t expect a release date any time soon, as Meyer has also said that she wants her next novel to be something completely different. When asked what she plans on writing next, Meyers told The New York Times, “I’d like to do something in fantasy fantasy, where you have to have a map in the beginning of the book.”

While we’re waiting for more information, we'll just have to figure out how to convince Robert Pattinson to get back on board, and finish off the Twilight movie franchise for us.

While rumours of drug debts, revenge, and police collusion abounded in the years that followed, the case remained unsolved and the girls were never found.

In 2015, crime writer Jax Miller, who had been haunted by the case, decided to travel to Oklahoma to find out what really happened on that winter night in 1999, and why the story was still simmering more than fifteen years later. They lose patients to this baffling pandemic, but they also shepherd new life into a fearful world. With tireless tenderness and humanity, carers and mothers alike somehow do their impossible work.

So Unity Leandre, her best friend since forever, creates a list of challenges to push Ellen out of her comfort zone. Unity will complete the list, too, but not because she needs to change. What’s wrong with a thirtysomething widow still sleeping in her late husband’s childhood bed?

The Friendship List begins as a way to make others believe they’re just fine. But somewhere between “wear three-inch heels” and “have sex with a gorgeous guy,” Ellen and Unity discover that life is meant to be lived with joy and abandon, in a story filled with humour, heartache and regrettable tattoos.

  1. Jump: One Girl’s Search For Meaning

The point of all this has nothing to do with finding yourself. It’s about what you can do to lose what you don’t need.

Daniella is 26, a highly successful radio presenter, model and influencer, but panic is building in her head and chest, the internal state of affairs she has been trying to ignore finally spilling over into something undeniably physical. She is frozen, petrified, looks to her boyfriend and says, ‘I don’t know who or where I am.’ This day changed Daniella’s life. It derailed almost everything she had worked to achieve and set her on a new path.

Jump is the story of what happened when Daniella quit her job to backpack around the world for two years, and how freedom from the trappings of what society considers success leads to true contentment, strength and authenticity.

  1. Utopia Avenue

Utopia Avenue are the strangest British band you've never heard of. Emerging from London's psychedelic scene in 1967. Fronted by folksinger Elf Holloway, guitar demigod Jasper de Zoet and blues bassist Dean Moss, Utopia Avenue released only two LPs during its brief and blazing journey. From the clubs of Soho and draughty ballrooms to Top of the Pops and the cusp of chart success, to glory in Amsterdam, prison in Rome and a fateful American fortnight in the autumn of 1968.

David Mitchell's new novel tells a story about Utopia Avenue; of fame's Faustian pact and stardom's wobbly ladder.

Kristen Stewart has finally had her say about her ex-boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, scoring the role of Batman.

The actress seemed thrilled that her Twilight co-star will take over the role from Ben Affleck, telling a reporter; "I feel like he’s the only guy that could play that part."

Superhero movies are showing no sign of becoming less popular, with the characters getting rebooted and rewritten as long as studios (*cough* Disney/Warner Bros *cough*) can keep making money.

The Batman, starring Edward Cullen himself, is due to be released in 2021 as a Bruce Wayne remake, because we really need more of those.

Pattinson spent many of his post-Twilight years talking about how much he hated being in blockbusters, and accepted parts in low-budget, indie movies.

The actor has recently been spotted in Timothee Chalamet's Henry V Netflix flick; The King. Robert playing such a famous character seems, well, out of character.

While at the TIFF film festival this weekend, she spoke about her ex's new role with Varietysaying she was over the moon for Rob.

We're glad Kristen is supportive of her ex-boyfriend, especially after they were photographed together for the first time in five years last summer.

Maybe they've repaired their relationship following their dramatic split? Who can forget the cheating scandal with her Snow White And The Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

Hollywood is notorious for it's lack of consideration for the importance of equal pay. Actresses have continuously lost out on wages to male co-stars who are contributing the exact same or less to the project than them.

Robert Pattinson has now weighed in on the gender pay gap in Hollywood, claiming that he'd work without pay if it meant securing great actresses. Um, we heart?

The actor signed a #MeToo 'behavioural contract' before signing onto a Netflix original project out later this year. The King also stars Lily Rose-Depp and Timothée Chalamet.

Most famously, Michelle Williams was paid EIGHT TIMES less than Mark Wahlberg for All the Money in the World, and earned just $1,000 for the reshoots. Bear in mind that Mark isn't exactly Oscars material, yet he was given $1.5 million.

The highest-paid actress of last year, Scarlett Johansson, made $198.5 million less than the highest-paid actor, George Clooney.

High-profile Times Up activist Jessica Chastain was given roughly $1.75 million for The Martian, while Matt Damon allegedly earned as much as $25 million. Wow.

Well, it's official, this time ten years ago, Twilight bit its way into every teenage girl's heart.

"I thought I should take this moment to thank every single fan who has supported the franchise over the last decade but also to thank Kendall Jenner for being my hair inspo back in 07.’"

"Thank you fans. And thank you Kendall" – someone give the man a medal because that's hilarious.

Naturally, Robert and Kristen Stewart are dry shites compared to Taylor and haven't yet released anything about the 10 year anniversary – true to form, to be honest.

It was no secret that Robert hated the franchise more than anyone else, so he's probably trying to ignore the entire day.

Although as much as he attempts to distance himself from the movies, they will always be a solid part of our adolescents and the desire to be a blood-sucking vampire.

Happy Birthday, Twilight – and it HAS to be noted that Taylor is still very much an absolute ride.

We can’t believe it’s been ten years since the release of Twilight. It only feels like yesterday when cinemas were full of teens wearing ‘Team Edward’ t-shirts and far too much eyeliner.

The fantasy films quickly exploded in popularity thanks to the complicated love triangle, the soundtrack full of emo music and twinkly vampires.

The Twilight phenomenon was everywhere you looked back in the day when vampires were all the rage. Photos of Jacob Black were stuck to the inside of locker doors. The giant Stephanie Meyers’ books were stuffed into school bags. People got quotes from the movie tattooed on their body, and some even committed to having Edward Cullen’s face etched into their skin forever.

A decade may have passed since we were first introduced to Edward, Bella and co. but people will never let Robert Pattinson forget about playing the famous ‘17-year-old’ vampire.

You’d think the actor would be tired of hearing about the Twilight Saga, but it looks like the High Life star is ready to return to the rainy Forks, Washington.

In an interview with Variety, the actor teased fans about the potential return of Twilight. “The amount of time I’ve spent moisturizing, I am ready to play 17 at a moment’s notice. Ready!” he joked.

The 32-year-old did admit he was speaking about the franchise recently, “I was literally talking to my agent about it."

It looks like we could be digging out our Team Edward and Team Jacob t-shirts from the bottom of the wardrobe sooner than we think.

Maybe you loved it, maybe you hated it, but there is no denying that Twilight was everywhere in the noughties.

Robert Pattinson is known for his melancholy portrayal of Edward Cullen in the hit teenage vampire film series.

The role catapulted the young star to fame, but Robert revealed on the Howard Stern Show that it wasn't always smooth sailing.

According to the star, the directors and producers wanted the Cullen character to be more positive and smile more, but Robert disagreed.

'If you’re going into a relationship with someone, the way to make it really intense is if you can barely talk to each other, you can barely touch each other, it’s incredibly serious all the time,” he told Howard Stern.

'That’s what teenage relationships are.'

'But everyone kind of wanted it to be, like, ‘No, they should just be, like, happy and having fun. That’s what people want."’

Robert felt the pressure from producers to drop the moody facade that Edward Cullen is known for, and adopt a sunnier disposition.

'(My agents) flew up and were like, ‘You have to do the opposite of what you’re doing now or you’re going to get fired today.'

Robert was even given a copy of Twilight with all the instances of Edward Cullen smiling highlighted in marker.

Robert retaliated by using another shade of highlighter to illustrate the places in the novel where Edward frowned or grimaced.

Magically, he kept his job, and we have the binge-watchable Twilight series as a pay off.

Let's be honest – whether you were a fan of the Twilight franchise or not, it's no surprise to learn that the atmosphere on set was far from welcoming at times.

And if anyone was going to spill those deets, we knew we could rely on Anna Kendrick who played Bella's pal Jessica Stanley.

Reflecting on her time on the set in her memoir Scrappy Little Nobody, Anna revealed that while the stars of the movie attempted to make her feel welcome, weather and general morale kind of prevented it.

"Kellan Lutz is the sweetest guy, but that day I think he might have strangled me if he’d had the energy," Anna admitted while explaining that the cast and crew were attempting to shoot the movie in freezing conditions in Canada and Oregan.

Anna then turned her attention to Kirsten Stewart, writing: "[She] – one of the most committed actors I’ve ever worked with — made a valiant effort to be friendly, but I could tell she was putting her back into it."

"Underneath every word, I heard 'You don’t know, man, you don’t know what it’s like out there.'" Anna added.

It sounds like Anna happily would have sacrificed her part in the franchise had she known what she was in for.

"If you told me I had to be in that weather with no relief, I would have bailed like the little b***ch I am. Extreme cold messes with you," she insisted.

"The elements don’t discriminate. And no amount of ‘you’re getting paid to do this’ matters when your body’s basic survival requirements are in play."

Christ, that sounds like no picnic.

From The Notebook’s Noah and Allie to Titanic’s Jack and Rose, if Hollywood’s good for anything, it’s producing fantasy worthy relationships.

Since Twilight has become the unlikely love story of the millennial generation, it’s no surprise that fans of the franchise are obsessed with each and every detail of Bella and Edward’s wedding.

From November 19 to 20, an extensive Twilight themed auction will be held online which will allow fans to bid on the original props, costumes and set decoration pieces used to bring the vampire saga to life.

Among the 900 items being sold by Prop Store and Summit Entertainment is Bella Swan’s wedding hair pin and sizeable engagement ring.

Since replicas of the ring have sold almost €1,500, it is expected that the real deal will go for twice that sum.

For the truly obsessed, Bella and Edward’s wedding costumes will also be sold in both their clean and blood-stained forms, as will her bridal bouquet and New Moon bracelets.
