TIME

Well, well, well; those snakes have officially been BANISHED. That's right…Taylor Swift is back with a phantasmagorial bang.

Her new pastel-themed tune is called ME! and it's a beauty, as well as featuring the great Brendan Urie from Panic! At The Disco.

Rumours are flying that ME! was supposed to actually precede Reputation, but when sh*t went down with the media regarding the Kardashians and Kanye West, she decided to show her dark side first.

Our pal Taylor has been dropping hints for weeks about her latest musical endeavour, and the pastel colours hint at a return to her 1989 roots.

Fresh from her Time100 success, Swift's return show's yet another streak for mastering her personal marketing brand.

The video is adorable, and features a Parisian aesthetic with the pop star even speaking French at one point. Très bien henny. There's also a nod to Mary Poppins in there too, randomly.

The gal loves Easter eggs, and there's plenty of hidden meanings in the Dave Meyers-directed video.

5. Is she ENGAGED? Also we adore her kitty's cameos.

6. Her kitty fam possibly  just expanded

7. She has resurrected from the dead:

8. She's certainly changed her colour palette…

9. Reputation was dropping hints left, right and centre b*tches!

10. Swifties are incapable of remaining calm:

11. Is Taylor supporting Brie Larson's Unicorn Store?

12. She damn switched the light on:

13. Applicable to group projects, we think:

14. Her fans would die for her, but Instagram ain't having ih…

15. The feels are a little strong, to say the least:

At the moment, Taylor is currently on track to break the record for fastest music video to reach 100 million views on YouTube, after Ariana Grande's Thank U, Next and BTS' Boy With Luv.

It's surpassed 13 million views in just three hours, which is phenomenal.

Without further ado, here's Taylor's new video. Indulge in it, if you haven't already seen it. If you've already seen it, watch it again. It's worth it.

Imagine a man in a tux at a black-tie event. He has the looks and style that grabs everyone’s attention, only to pose and reveal a canvas-strap wristwatch. Not to say that the canvas strap watches are inferior, but they are just not appropriate for the outfit.

Matching your watch to an outfit can be quite simple for a fashion savvy person, but it can be challenging for those who lack basic knowledge. Matching your watch with an outfit is actually a form of art.  We are currently obsessed with the official Olivia Burton watch range which you can wear with style.

The choice of watch you choose is a reflection of your personality, your style, and your tastes. Some may argue that matching your watch with your outfit depends on the band or strap, but a person who understands fashion will tell you that it’s more than that.

Many other factors come into play when choosing the right watch-outfit combinations. Below are a few guidelines to help you understand what goes with what.

Match Your Watch to the Formality of Your Outfit

Watches and outfits have levels of formality. A general rule of thumb when matching your watch with your outfit is to match the formality of your timepiece with the formality of your outfit. Let me explain further how you do that.

  1. Black Tie, White Tie

Traditionally, people were not supposed to wear a watch to a black-tie event. However, today you can wear a simple, classic dress watch. You don’t need to look flashy and extravagant on a black tie or white tie occasion, so a dress watch will do just fine.

Dress watches come in a wide range of styles and colours, but one with minimally embellished face and black leather band will be acceptable even to conservative observers.

  1. Business Formal

Business formal dresses are worn every day and are more versatile regarding what you can wear them with. Here you have a wide choice, but you don’t want to appear frivolous when at a meeting or business deal.

Dress watches are a perfect choice, especially if you’re wearing a dark suit. Dive watches are also an option as they are formal while still maintaining their functionality.

  1. Business Casual

This is the outfit that you wear everyday as you go to work such as a non-formal necktie optional business suit. Here we are talking about khakis, button-down shirts, sports coats, denim, leather shoes, etc.

The outfit is best complemented with a pilot watch, a high-end chronograph, or even a field watch. However, almost every type of watch can blend well with your casual business outfit.

  1. Casual Outfits

This is where your most casual clothes fall, including your jeans, polo shirts, and tees. All watch types, except the dress watch, will be perfect.

Dive watches, sports watches, pilot watches, and smartwatches can easily be matched with casual outfits. If you’re going to get involved in physical activity, the more rugged military watches would be ideal.

A note on military watches: Just like pilot watches and dive watches, military watches are not worn solely by officers, but rather can be worn by anyone.

They are quite classic and high-tech, and ideal for outdoor activities. To learn more about them, you can check out this list, and you might just fall in love with one.

  1. Sportswear

There are only a handful of watches you can wear while you engage in sports. However, this also depends on the kind of sport you’re participating in. If you’re only engaging in sports for recreational purposes, a field watch, dive watch, chronograph, and smartwatch can do. Just ensure that the watch is light and comfortable.

Match Your Watch Strap to the Formality of Your Outfit

Once you’ve decided on the type of watch that will match best with your outfit, you should go a step further to pair in terms of the material of the watch strap.

Leather bands are considered more formal than metal bands, and black is more formal than brown. Gold and silver metal bands are also appropriate for the most formal of events and can be ideal for dressy occasions.

Metal Complements Metal

The metal case of the watch and the metal bands should complement other metal accessories you’re wearing such as cufflinks, belt buckle, and shoe buckle. A gold watch can be worn with a gold belt buckle.

Leather Complements Leather

When wearing a leather strap watch, you should use your shoes as a reference. Match your belt to your shoes and then match your watch with both.

A brown leather band should be worn with a brown belt and brown shoes while a black band should go with a black belt and black shoes.

Metal Bands Match Better With Certain Colours of Clothes and Shoes

When a watch has a metal band, you can wear it with black or brown shoes. However, certain band colours work better with certain colours of clothes and shoes.

Gold watches are ideal for clothes and shoes in brown, tans, and beige tones while silver goes best with black, blue, and grey.

Conclusion

Wearing your watch to complement your outfit can be challenging but fun. People can often judge your sense of style by the small accessories you wear.

Therefore, while you may have a favourite watch in your collection, it’s important to match your watch to your outfit appropriately.

While many have applauded Time magazine's decision to honour the women who were instrumental in launching a movement which highlighted the pervasive nature of sexual violence, not everyone is impressed.

The publication's annual Person of the Year came in the form of many people, now known as The Silence Breakers, and while Demi Lovato praises their choice, she's outraged by their chosen runner-up.

Referring to the cover which features Ashley Judd, Susan Fowler, Adama Iwu, Taylor Swift, and Isabel Pascual, the singer took issue with the publication's decision to place Donald Trump in second place.

Taking to Twitter in recent days, Demi wrote: "Time mag highlights brave women coming forward against sexual assault on the cover but names a man with sexual assault allegations against him runner up to person of the year.. Really @TIME? #hypocrites."

Demi's outrage can be seen in her follow-up tweet where she says she felt compelled to speak out as praise was heaped upon the iconic cover.

"I’ve become less vocal about my distain for certain people over the past year because it only divides our country even more but this is worth speaking up about. @TIME mag – very disappointed in your hypocrisy and disrespect toward the women on your cover," she added.

Questioning the process which determines the winner, she added: "To be named POTY by @TIME it should be for doing something positive or brave LIKE the women on the cover. It’s annoying that it’s just about impact on the news."

Demi's tweets have amassed tens of thousands of likes in recent days.

Congratulations to Panti Bliss, she has been voted as one of Time's top 100 most influential people.

And she was high on the list too, coming in at no. 29 and beating out the likes of Rihanna.

The activist took to Facebook to confirm the news: “So voting is closed on the TIME 100 poll, and bizarrely I came in at #29 (suck it, Vladimir Putin!),” she wrote.

“That doesn’t mean I’ll actually be on their list though because that’s decided by the magazine’s editorial board, not the public, but I feel like it might at least get me an invite to the party, right?

“If it does, I’ll need a date. I’ll be taking applications. Unless Zayn decides to come with me… in which case, applications closed.”

We're delighted with this news.

We've all been there: we arrive in from school, college or work – we're absolutely exhausted, fed-up and oh-so tempted to order food from the chipper or Chinese.

The only issue: take-aways are hardly good for your health, waistline OR your pocket.

But there ARE amazingly simple and delicious recipes that take just ten minutes (or less!) to prepare.

We've kept these six meal ideas veggie – but you can easily add in the likes of pre-cooked sliced chicken if you feel you'd rather a meat-hit too.

1) Breakfast taco

Lightly oil a pan and then stick it over a medium-high heat.

Scramble three egg whites, a small handful of spinach leaves, and a tablespoon of drained and rinsed black beans (from a can is fine). Season with salt and pepper.

When the mixture has set, remove from the heat.

Wrap it all up in a whole-wheat tortilla and top with some salsa.

2) Cold pizza

Great for hitting the spot when you've a craving. Toast two bits of thickly-sliced whole-grain bread and brush with a garlic clove.

Top with two tablespoons of ricotta or torn mozzarella, a large basil leaf, tomato slices, a drizzle of olive oil, and salt and pepper.

Pop under the grill for five minutes – then eat.

3) Mediterranean pita

Split open a whole-wheat pita and spread one side with hummus.

Grill a red pepper (sliced) and then add to the pita. Also throw in a sprinkling of crumbled feta, some black olives, and five slices cucumber.

Top with mixed salad; then it's ready!

4) White bean sandwich

Mash around a quarter can of rinsed and drained white beans with some olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper.

Toast two bits of thickly-sliced whole-grain bread and then spread with the bean mixture.

Top with slices of red onion, cucumber, and avocado.

5) Loaded Sweet Potato

Prick one small-to-medium sweet potato with a fork around five times.

Microwave on a piece of kitchen paper or a microwave-safe plate for five minutes.

Split open lengthwise and top with a couple of spoonfuls of Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and two tablespoons of drained and rinsed black beans.

Top with a pinch of paprika.

To mark Mother's Day in America, fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham wrote a lovely open letter in Time to all four of her children, Brooklyn, 16, Romeo, 12, Cruz, 10,and Harper, 3. She started by saying: "Being a mother is simply the greatest achievement of my life." and went on to declare her love for her children.

Despite being extremely famous and wealthy, Victoria and David seem very realistic in their hopes for their children's futures. She explained: "Being in a position where they live such a privileged life, it is important that our children understand humility, that they appreciate how their parents have worked very hard to create this life for the family and that they, too, have a responsibility to work hard, be respectful and never, ever take anything for granted."

"I hope that I, together with their father, inspire them to dream big and be the best version of themselves that they can be," she admitted.

Victoria wasn't the only one to express her love, as Brooklyn took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of himself and his mum for Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day

She recently made an appearance at his school to share encouraging and motivating words with his classmates about the future and possible careers in fashion.

Any other 16 year old boy would be embarrassed, but not when your mum is Posh Spice!

It seems Justin really needs to go over his history books, especially when it comes to posting snaps of culturally significant places on his Instagram account.

Bieber caused upset, when he took a picture of Tokyo’s Yasukuni Shrine. The shrine is a religious site believed to house the souls of former Japanese military leaders responsible for war crimes in China and other parts of Asia during World War II.

Of course, Justin was not aware of the controversial history surrounding the shrine and decided to share with his followers a picture of himself bowing at the war shrine, captioned: “Thank you for your blessings.”

Eventually, the 20-year-old singer realised his mistake, deleted the photo and replaced it with a screenshot of an article about his visit.

He then went onto to send a message to apologise to anyone he had offended.

“While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was misled to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan.”

Well at least he apologised, that’s something.
