Stephen Fry

The weekend is finally here and we honestly couldn’t be happier. We are so ready to relax and leave the stress of the past week behind us.

We have certainly got that Friday feeling but we honestly haven’t got the energy to do anything other than sprawl across the sofa for the foreseeable future.

As per usual, we’ll be tuning into everyone’s favourite Corkman Graham Norton and the presenter has got some pretty brilliant guests this week.

The legendary Stephen Fry and Upside Down singer Paloma Faith will join the presenter on Friday night.

Fleabag fans will be overjoyed to hear that the iconic 'hot priest' in the comedy series is set to make an appearance. That’s right, Irish actor Andrew Scott will also chat to Graham about his roles in Fleabag and most recently, Black Mirror.

There will also be music from Bastille.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC1 at 10: 35 pm.

A Gardaí investigation into allegedly blasphemous comments made by Stephen Fry has been dropped after Gardaí found that there were not enough people 'outraged' by the remarks.

According to a controversial Irish law, it is blasphemous to be or say things 'grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters sacred to any religion,  thereby intentionally causing outrage among a substantial number of adherents of that religion.'

It is understood that the probe into Stephen Fry's comments on The Meaning of Life in 2015 have been dropped as Gardaí can find no injured party.

'This man was simply a witness and not an injured party,' a source told The Irish Independent

'Gardaí were unable to find a substantial number of outraged people.'

'For this reason the investigation has been concluded.'

The man who reported the blasphemy to the Gardaí told the Irish Independent: 'I did my civic duty in reporting it.'

'The guards did their duty in investigating it. I am satisfied with the result and I don't want to comment further.'

Hozier has since weighed in on the controversy, suggesting that people report his hit song Take Me To Church, as it is 'not about going to church.'

As the devastation and heartbreak of the Berkeley tragedy rings around the world, perhaps the only place where solace can be found is in the outpouring of support and solidarity that has been seen since the fatal tragedy.

As families and friends mourn the tragic loss of loved ones, several Irish students have been left facing life-altering injuries.

One of these students is Clodagh Cogley, 21. Clodagh survived the fall when her friend, Jack Halpin, 21, grabbed her and helped break her fall. A spokesperson for the Cogley family said that “both of them sadly came off as badly as each other”.

Since Ms Cogley’s survival, her brother Darragh has been providing her friends with updates of her condition, and he also tweeted to see if they could get support from JK Rowling, and from Stephen Fry.

And thankfully, his call has been answered.

Author of the Harry Potter books, JK Rowling, has tweeted at Clodagh wishing her a quick recovery and sending love to her friends and family.

Clodagh is a native of Milltown in Dublin 6, and previously attended the well-know Alexandra College. She is the granddaughter of legendary RTÉ rugby commentator, Fred Cogley, and is a student at Trinity College.

Stephen Fry and his husband, Elliott Spencer, have been forced to shorten their honeymoon because of homophobia.

The newlyweds tied the knot in January, and have been travelling around the world ever since.

The couple were enjoying their holidays in Honduras when they had to leave because of anti-gay sentiments towards them.

It is not clear exactly what incident occurred but the Mail Online reported that Mr Spencer said “we had a problem when we visited Honduras on holiday.”

“It was homophobia. I don’t want to go into detail, but we had to leave.”

While homosexuality is not a criminal act in the Central American country, it is believed that there is hostility towards gay people. Same-sex marriage is still illegal in Honduras.

The 27-year-old married the QI host six months ago in a registry office in Stephen’s home county before they began their traveling honeymoon.

Elliot opened up about the many trips he has taken with his new husband who is 30-years older than him. “Many of the countries Stephen’s been to before, but he likes to see them through new eyes with me,” the self-proclaimed comedian revealed.

“It has been an amazing experience,” he added.

Let’s hope that the newlyweds aren’t deterred and go on to have the trip that they deserve.

Much-loved TV star and presenter of long-running quiz show QI tied the knot on Saturday and released two snaps of the very happy event for our viewing pleasure!

Stephen Fry looked overjoyed to have married Elliott Spencer having only announced their engagement two weeks ago.

Commenting on their upcoming marriage at the time, the actor and comedian tweeted: "Oh. It looks as though a certain cat is out of a certain bag. I'm very happy of course, but had hoped for a private wedding. Fat chance!"

Judging by the photos that 57-year-old Stephen posted of his wedding to 27-year-old Elliott, it looks like it was fairly private ceremony to us!

Sharing the happy news on Twitter, Stephen wrote: "Oh and @ElliottGSpencer and I had our vows witnessed by a mini Oscar Wilde. Because one should. #Greencarnations."

Unsurprisingly, the popular personality and his new husband were inundated with congratulations from a host of celeb friends, with Oscar-winner Russell Crowe tweeting: "@stephenfry @ElliottGSpencer Congratulations gentlemen. So happy for you both."

Aw, we wish them all the best!
