This new musical all about Princess Diana and her rise to becoming one of the most influential women of the 20th century, was supposed to open on Broadway on March 31, before the coronavirus pandemic put it on pause.

However, luckily for us Diana: A True Musical Story will be available all over the world, for us to watch from the comfort of our own homes, launching on Netflix in 2021. The musical will star Broadway actor Jeanna de Waal as Princess Diana, Roe Hartrampf as Prince Charles, Erin Davie as Camilla Parker Bowles and two-time Tony Award–winning actor Judy Kaye as Queen Elizabeth.

The cast spoke to People all about the preparation involved in taking on such iconic roles. Jeanne de Waal explained how she spent hours devouring YouTube clips of Diana in interviews, and even watched an eight-minute video of Princess Diana in ‘mom-mode’ with Prince William and Prince Harry.

“She’s not speaking, but you can see the way that she’s caring for Harry and William, and how she relates to them. How she watches so intensely… She’s very present in every single moment that she’s involved with,” Jeanne described.

The decision to launch Diana: A True Musical Story on Netflix is following the hugely successful release of Broadway musical, Hamilton, which became available on Disney+ in early July, causing a 74% increase in downloads of the streaming service.

"We speak for the entire company when we say that we couldn’t be more excited to finally be able to share our show with theatre-lovers everywhere," said the show's producers in a joint statement. "Though there is no substitute for the live theatre, we are honoured to be a part of the quality entertainment that Netflix provides its subscribers worldwide."

While Diana: A True Musical Story will be premiering on Netflix in 2021, theatre-lovers will still be able to catch a live performance of the show later next year, as the new Broadway opening date has been moved to May 25. The original cast will be filmed for the Netflix production, on the stage of their Longacre Theatre in New York, in front of an empty audience.

We have adored season three of The Crown. Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies have mesmerized audiences with their phenomenal portrayals of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

However, there’s one major figure we have yet to meet in the drama series who is bound to impress viewers.

Princess Diana.

Diana, who was often referred to as the People’s Princess, is set to feature in season four of the drama series and we are beyond excited about it.

As well as Diana, a young Prince William also joins the fourth installment of the Netflix series.

The cast are currently filming season four and we’ve been given our first glimpse at baby William and we’ve got to say he’s as cute as can be.

Emma Corrin (Princess Diana) and Josh O’ Connor (Prince Charles) are currently filming the royal tour of Australia and New Zealand which took place in 1983, a year after William was born.

Corrin was spotted filming a scene where she is boarding the plane for her first royal tour and behind her is the royal nanny with baby William in her arms.

A royal etiquette expert has explained some of the more confusing royal style rules to news.com.au, and we can't even process how strange this is.

With a rake of high profile events in the Buckingham Palace calendar, The Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex have the chance to wear the finest jewels in the world.

Apparently, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are banned from wearing diamonds during the day, which we think sounds pretty unfair.

Both women possess some beautiful jewellery of their own, and from their late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales.

The pair are frequently given permission to wear select pieces from the royal collection, as well as their own. Basically, they own a shed-load of bling.

However, it turns out that the Duchesses are fairly restricted in what jewels they can wear at specific times during the day. Etiquette teacher Myka Meier has given us the lowdown.

“Other jewels are worn pre-6pm,” Meier told news.com.au, which explains why the duo are normally only seen sporting stones like pearls and topaz, or minimalist precious metal pieces during the day as well as their engagement rings.

The Duchesses are meant to avoid looking "flashy" before the evening time, for some reason.

“Before 6pm, you’ll see metallics, gemstones, pearls, sapphires," explains Meier.

"At night, you’ll see the diamonds come out, and that’s in order to not come across as flashy in your appearance.”

Considering their lifestyle is fairly different to our own, we don't think not wearing jewels while the sun is up will suggest that they're just like us.

The Duke of Sussex has had quite an overwhelming few weeks. The new dad recently honoured his mum’s legacy during his trip to Africa and has worked tirelessly to ensure Princess Diana’s memory is always remembered and recently opened up about her in an ITV documentary, Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.

In a harrowing preview clip, Harry said his mum’s death is a “wound that festers."

Harry discussed his troubled relationship with the media in the clip and admitted that their presence often reminds them of his mum’s untimely passing.

Prince Harry said, “I think [of] being part of this family, in this role, in this job every single time I see a camera, every single time I hear a click, every single time I see a flash. It takes me straight back, so in that respect it's the worst reminder of her life as opposed to the best."

The Duke of Sussex added, “Being here now 22 years later, trying to finish what she started will be incredibly emotional but everything that I do reminds me of her. But as I said, with the role, with the job, and the sort of the pressures that come with that, I get reminded of the bad stuff usually."

Prince Harry recently revealed he was going to sue the Mail On Sunday for publishing Meghan’s personal letters. The dad stressed that he didn’t want history to repeat itself.

He stated, “Though this action may not be the safe one, it is the right one. Because my deepest fear is history repeating itself. I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”

Season three of The Crown hasn’t even landed on Netflix yet, but the cast has already started filming the fourth installment of the drama series inspired by Britain’s royal family.

The fourth season will focus on Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s relationship. Josh O’ Connor will play Prince Charles and Emma Corin stars as Princess Diana. The actors were recently spotted filming an episode of the Netflix series and the resemblance is simply uncanny.

There’s no doubt Princess Diana was one of the biggest figures in the fashion world during her time. Her legendary ‘revenge dress’ was by far one of the most memorable looks in pop culture.

The late princess was never afraid to push style boundaries, despite her royal title. Diana managed to make jumpers and cycling shorts look chic. She donned oversized blazers and baseball caps yet still managed to look as classy as ever.

She certainly wore some of the most beautiful ball gowns, but it was her casual, dressed-down looks that cemented her as a true fashion icon.

The Crown has finally found their Princess Diana. The beloved drama series announced that Emma Corrin will play Lady Diana Spencer in series four of The Crown.

Commenting on the major role, the actress gushed: “I have been glued to the show and to think I’m now joining this incredibly talented acting family is surreal.

“Princess Diana was an icon and her effect on the world remains profound and inspiring. To explore her through Peter Morgan’s writing is the most exceptional opportunity ad I will strive to do her justice.”

Diana will appear in the fourth series of the popular Netflix show.

The casting advert for the role of Diana was revealed earlier this year.

It read: “She has to play charming comedy, flirt and social exhibitionist on the world stage, desperate and lonely self-harmer at her lowest ebb and the kind of psychological intensity of Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby.”

A source revealed that The Crown’s creator Peter Morgan has no intention of holding back from telling Diana’s true story.

It is said the Royal Family may not be impressed with her character. The source revealed: “[He] is not going to hold back on how Diana impacted the Royal Family, just as he didn’t when he wrote The Queen. It could ruffle a few feathers.’

There’s no doubt the next few series of The Crown are going to be extremely exciting. We can’t wait to see Emma Corrin play Diana. There’s no doubt she’ll do an impeccable job.

The third series of The Crown will reportedly air later this year.

George Clooney has come to the defence of his friend, Meghan Marrkle.

The Duchess of Sussex has been getting harsh treatment from the media since she joined the Royal family and that scrutiny has only accelerated since she married Prince Harry and announced that she was expecting their baby.

Now, her friend and Hollywood actor George Clooney has something to say about what she has endured – even comparing her treatment by the public to that of the late Princess Diana.

While promoting his upcoming Hulu series Catch-22, he said, ''They’re just chasing Meghan Markle everywhere, she’s been pursued and vilified.''

The 57-year-old continued, ''She’s a woman who is seven months pregnant and she has been pursued and vilified and chased in the same way that Diana was and it’s history repeating itself.”

He added, ''We’ve seen how that ends. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is to see that,” referring to Princess Diana’s fatal car crash in 1997 during which she was being chased by paparazzi.

Many love Sarah Ferguson’s spirited personality.

In contrast to the proper traditions of the royals, she may have been exactly what the family needed, especially in the 1980s.

And now, the beloved Duchess of York has spoken out for her first in-depth interview in 20 years.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Sarah recalled her daughter’s recent wedding with fondness and said it reminded her of her dear friend Princess Diana.

When she shuffled into the church, surrounded by loved ones, the duchess was struck by the loss of her best friend.

“I thought of absent friends and family; of Diana – but she’s with me all the time. What I miss most is her tinkling laughter,” she said.

“Diana was my best friend and the funniest person I knew. She had such a timing and wit.

“It was a total joy to be with her because we just laughed and enjoyed life so much, and I know she would have loved the wedding.”

The mum became overwhelmed with the love that filled the wedding chapel on her daughter’s big day.

The sparks flew between Eugenie and Jack, and Sarah knew that her daughter shared the same joy that her and Diana used to.

“My proudest moment,” Duchess Sarah said, “was watching Eugenie standing tall, very proud to show her scoliosis scar in her low-backed dress.

“I’d gone to all the fittings and sat there beaming with delight, and because there was no veil it was a very strong statement.

“We rang St George’s Chapel to make sure there wasn’t a special rule specifying veils must be worn, but there wasn’t and Eugenie just wanted to be herself.

“The tiara (borrowed from granny) danced to her. She was just so radiant. She said: ‘Mum, I thought I was going to get nerves,’ but she didn’t.

“She and Jack are just meant to be. He adores her, and now I’ve got a son.”

Sarah will always share that special friendship with Princess Diana, doting on some of their favourite memories together.

And now her daughter has found her best friend for life, a man that her mum sees will make Eugenie laugh and bring her life joy.

Kate Middleton chose a special tiara to wear to the banquet with the Dutch royals

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands invited the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to The Netherlands State Banquet.

The event was held at the lavish ballroom in the Buckingham Palace and many well-known guests were in attendance, including Prime Minister Theresa May.

As usual, Kate looked stunning in her classic choice of an Alexander McQueen gown, pastel blue with a mermaid cut.

But it was her jewellery that was the talk of the evening.

She wore the Lover’s Knot tiara, a favourite of Princess Diana’s, atop a sophisticated swept up hairstyle with the late princess’ matching earrings as well.

The tiara is over a century old and was often the Princess of Wales go-to choice at royal events.

According to The Court Jeweller, the tiara was originally commissioned by Queen Mary, who had to give up one of her own tiara’s for its making.

Diana inherited the former queen’s love of the piece, who wore it during Queen Victoria’s coronation.

When Queen Mary died in 1953, she passed on the tiara to Queen Elizabeth II, who then passed it on to her daughter-in-law Princess Diana.

Clearly, the Lover’s Knot tiara holds much sentimental value for Kate and she was honoured to adorn it at the royal banquet.

It is sweet to see the Duchess of Cambridge carrying on her late mother-in-law's legacy and making this small tribute in her honour.

On Saturday, St. George’s Chapel was full of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nearest and dearest, however, there was one very special person missing from the celebrations- Harry’s dear mum, Princess Diana.

Harry lost his mum when he was a mere 12-years-old and there’s no doubt in our minds that he was missing her more than ever on his wedding day.

The 33-year-old made sure his mum was still part of this exciting chapter of his life.

Both Meghan and Harry made sure to honour Diana throughout their wedding day and they did so in the most subtle and classy way.

Meghan’s bouquet featured Diana’s favourite flowers- forget-me-nots, which Harry picked from their own personal garden in Kensington Palace on the eve of their wedding day.

Diana’s family were also present at the wedding ceremony, with Earl Spencer, and Diana’s sisters attending. Her sister Lady Jane Fellowes delivered an emotional speech about a mother’s love for her son.

A post shared by Kensington Palace (@kensingtonroyal) on

The touching reading was one of the most special parts of Harry and Meghan’s ceremony, “Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is as strong as death, passion fierce as the grave.”

As the newlyweds headed off for their private evening reception, Meghan was sporting a stunning aquamarine ring, which belonged to Diana. It is understood that the ring is her ‘something borrowed’. Meghan wore white pumps with baby blue soles for her ‘something blue.’

Diana may not have been there to celebrate their marriage, but Harry knows she would have been thrilled for him: “She’d be over the moon for me, but she would have been best friends with Meghan."
