Some wear it on their wrists, others on their neck, and we all have that one friend who still walks through a perfume wall each morning.

For years we’ve been reading about pulse points online and in magazines, but it seems there’s one unusual perfume hotspot we’ve all been missing.

According to the experts, celebrities like Liv Tyler and Adriana Lima spray their favoured scents on their belly buttons because the navel is perfectly shaped for holding fragrances.

As with traditional pulse points like the neck and wrists, as the body heats up the perfume’s smell begins to radiate.

For those who remain unconvinced, behind the ear lobes, inside the elbows and at the back of each knee also react well to deposits of desirable aromas.

MAC Cosmetics' range is known for its highly-pigmented, creamy and vanilla-scented lipsticks.

Many shades have become cult products, and the makeup moguls at MAC have decided to immortalise them in scent.

Shades like Ruby Woo, Velvet Teddy, Candy Yum-Yum, Heroine, Lady Danger and Creme de Nude have all been chosen for the collection.

The MAC Shadescents are designed to capture the personality of your favourite lippie.

The collection plays on the concept of synaesthesia; the mixing up of the senses that allows some people to see sounds or hear colour – or smell colour, in this case.

Ruby Woo will be inspired by "deep red leather" (sounds very Fifty Shades) while Candy Yum-Yum will be reminiscent of fairground candyfloss.

"We have a fanbase attached to certain lipstick shades," MAC's senior vice president and group creative director, James Gager, explained to Elle.

When developing a concept for a new scent collection, the creative directors were inspired by their existing shades rather than going with a celebrity face or novelty gimmick.

The scents are dropping on December 8, just in time for Christmas.

While it’s fairly sophis’ to have a signature scent, most of us see the benefit of having a little variety in our perfume collections.

Switching between ‘day’ and ‘night’ fragrances is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to our attitude towards perfume here at SHEmazing! HQ.

In fact, a quick poll in the office revealed that the vast majority of us have ‘date’ perfumes, ‘girlie’ perfumes and ‘special memory’ perfumes, so we know our stuff when it comes to our scents.

And because we’re such fragrance junkies, we fell all over ourselves when we heard Azzaro and Mugler have launched two new him and her perfumes.

Angel Muse, which boasts a pretty slick design, is a subtle fragrance we can’t get enough of, and we’re just DYING to add it to our collection.

Both fragrances will be available in Arnotts and Debenhams, so form an orderly queue ladies.

Christmas presents can be tricky business. And there's only so many years you can buy the same kind of things.

Are you tired of getting your mum the same old gift for Christmas? Because we are. You've bought her a million knitted jumpers through the years and there's only so many 'I Love Mum' mugs you can find.

We feel your pain, because buying for your mother is one of the hardest presents to decide on. But fear not! As we have a totally cool pressie that she will LOVE this year.

Roger &Gallet are one of the world's leading perfumers and they have developed a Perfume Diagnosis on their website.

And what's a Perfume Diagnosis, you ask? Well, it's a small survey to let you know what scent is best suited to you. R&G have gathered up all their information from over the years (and that's a LOT) and by taking the one-minute test, they'll let you know what perfume is suitable for you by taking into account your personality and your interests.

The survey is a fun way to choose a gift and it shows that you actually put some thought into your present, too.

Your siblings will be raging, we guarantee it.

You can take the quiz here, to find a perfect scent for your equally perfect mum.

With New York Fashion Week over, and London coming to a close, we've already seen celebrities, designers, models and bloggers don their best outfits in order to get the best street style snap.

If you pay close attention to what these women wear, you start to notice a trend among them.

There are certain items every one of them seem to own and wear regularly as they go about their daily business.

Speaking to Who What Wear, stylist Marissa Webb said: "It's really impossible to speak for every other woman in the fashion industry, of course, but they are a few items I've spotted frequently on many."

Want to know what they are? Read our top list:

Fashionable flats

After all, fashion girls spend a lot of time on their feet! From fashion shows to press event, photo shoots and more, fashionistas are kept going – and no matter what anyone tells you, it's hard to do in heels.

A go-to fragrance

Every stylish woman has a favourite perfume! It's something that they will be remembered by as they go from place to place. But there's always time to update your scent with these new autumn launches.

The perfect trench coat

They all need a trendy trench coat for travel. Most of them choose the longer style as it gives them multiple ways to change it up. But when you're on one side of the city and you need to get over to the other, these slick cover-ups really come in handy.

Sunglasses

Fashion women are tired women – between working and events (especially during Fashion Week), it can be so draining. The most stylish way to cover that up is by wearing chic sunglasses. Just look at Anna Wintour!

Functional but chic luggage

Women in fashion spend a lot of time travelling, whether at home or abroad. Functional luggage is a major priority (because let's face it, they have  A LOT of clothes to fit in their bags). But no one wants to walk around with a grubby suitcase, so a stylish yet sturdy suitcase is key.

She's certainly lost a significant amount of weight since the beginning of the year – something she attributes to being busy and the death of her father-in-law.

And while she's previously expressed her annoyance at the 'body-shamers' who declare her too thin, it's clear that some fans remain worried about Cheryl Fernandez Versini's appearance.

Tonight, The X Factor judge was launching her third fragrance, StormFlower Noir, at Aqua in London.

For the occasion, the 32-year-old wore an elegant Narciso Rodriguez black jumpsuit (priced at €2,950) which she accessorised with an OTT gold collar.

However, numerous commentators declared that her choice of outfit merely accentuated her incredibly slim physique.

"Have a nice and big big lunch!!" said one alongside a picture that Cheryl shared this evening on Instagram.

"You look so skinny," said another bluntly. "U are amazing but very skinny," declared a further individual, while one account holder stated: "You Need to eat some food baby girl too slim… beautiful pic tho."

Recently, the singer told the Daily Mirror: "No, I’m not anorexic. I work 12 to 14 hours a day. I don’t even have time at the moment to exercise – and I don’t need to either."

She had previously taken to her social media accounts to angrily declare: "I am so sick and tired of it being OK to call somebody too thin or a bag of bones.

"I would never dream of calling somebody too fat and that they should maybe cut down on their food intake?

"What is the difference?'

If you're heading off on holidays soon, updating your wardrobe isn't the only thing to consider… your signature scent might need overhauling too.

That heavy, heady perfume that works perfectly on cosy winter evenings may not be so suited to a warm sunny day spent with a cold glass of wine in hand. When it comes to mixing it up with scents, Roger & Gallet are pros, so when we heard about their Eau Sublime Or Bois d’Orange we had to check it out.

The warm, addictive scent is inspired by the gardens of Andalusia, so it's no surprise the fragrance instantly had us thinking of carefree summer evenings.

A combination of citrus notes, coconut flower, white wood and subtle vanilla make this the perfect fresh fragrance to see you through the season.

And the best part? The Eau Sublime Or comes with a hint of golden sparkle, so this isn't just for spritzing on your wrists – it'll add a subtle glow to your arms, collarbones and décolletage.

Roger & Gallet Eau Sublime Or Bois d'Orange, RRP €39.75, available in M&S Beauty Hall and pharmacies nationwide

Paris Hilton was today en route to Liverpool from London, but rather than opt for a helicopter or chauffeur-driven car, the reality TV star and socialite decided to make the three-hour journey via train.

Next stop – Liverpool!

A photo posted by Paris Hilton (@parishilton) on

Sitting comfortably in a Virgin first-class carriage this morning, the 34-year-old happily posted pictures to her Instagram account of her unassuming commute.

Paris, who is worth €90m, would have paid as little as €100 for her ticket.

She is in the UK to promote her new perfume and this afternoon is at a branch of Superdrug in Liverpool to meet and greet fans.

Incredibly this is her 18th fragrance in just 11 years – her very first offering, Paris Hilton for women, was released back in 2004 at the height of her fame and went on to be an international best-seller.

Yesterday, the heiress also treated herself to a stealth London shopping spree: donning a short, dark wig and giant sunglasses she hit Topshop’s flagship store on Oxford Circus.

Wearing comfortable-looking skinny jeans and a €155 Johnson herringbone bow sweater, she picked up a haul of accessories and clothing – all packed into six large carrier-bags.

She’s clearly a big Topshop fan too. “Always find the cutest clothes and accessories there!” she said of the Philip Green-owned store afterwards.

Ms Hilton only arrived in London from Los Angeles yesterday – and came with no fewer than eight suitcases for her trip.

After her UK stopover, she travels to Cannes for a DJ gig before moving on to Mexico. Her new single, High Off My Love, is released on Friday.
