Jennifer Grey is experiencing some serious eighties nostalgia, as are all Dirty Dancing fans, as she promotes her new series Red Oaks.

Set in the 1980s, her new series for Amazon's streaming service is quite reminiscent of the legendary film and that dance scene.

Almost 30 years since the dramatic lift first grabbed viewers’ attention and went down in cinematic history, the 55-year old actress is reflecting on the dance scene.

"I only did it on the day I shot it,” the actress told The Guardian.

"Never rehearsed it, never done it since. I don't know how all these people who re-enact it have the guts to throw themselves into the arms of anyone other than Patrick Swayze. It's insane!"

Having the time of our live does not require months of gruelling rehearsals? Apparently not.

So, does that mean Jennifer would be tempted to recreate the moment again, seeing as it didn’t take much preparation the first time?

Nope, "it’s a non-starter," she added.

"It happened, enjoy it, watch it over and over again but never ask me to do it again because I’m too f*cking old … I have a family and I want to live longer."

Fair enough, Jennifer. Although that probably has something to do with a doctor telling her that her spine was “literally falling off.”

When Jennifer appeared on Dancing With The Stars, she risked “complete paralysis” from just one wrong turn said Dr  Robert Bray, a spinal specialist.

We’ll just be over here watching the video and wondering how something looks this flawless when done on a whim.

We’re not sure if it is because Keanu wasn’t asked or because he doesn’t think the remake is a good idea, but he’s revealed he won’t be reprising his role in Point Break.

When quizzed about whether he will be putting his undercover cop hat on again, the 49-year-old replied: “Absolutely not… It’s not my place… It sounds very exciting – but is it a good thing? I don’t know.”

However, producer Alan Kosov has described the project as “not a literal remake” so maybe Keanu just wasn’t wanted. Kosov describes the film as having “elements of the original and it’s not just surfing, it’s other kinds of extreme sports, but surfing is very, very prominent in the story.”

A sequel to the movie was originally conceived in 2008, where it was envisioned that action director Jan De Bont, who was responsible for Speed and Speed 2, would spearhead the flick.

Nothing came of that plan, so we will have to wait and see if Alan’s remake makes it to the big, or even small, screen anytime soon.
