It's time to welcome back the thick black eyeliner of the 2000s and rock out to Skateboi and Complicated.

Why are we getting you so nostalgic I hear you cry?

Well, Avril Lavigne has just announced the release of a new album and it's given us an excuse to binge on those classic oldies.

Taking to her website, the queen of punk stated that its a "new era" for her music.

She was pumped to reveal that her first single is called “Head Above Water”, and it will be here on September 19. – IT'S SO SOON!

Avril fans have been waiting for five years for new music, as the singer in her statement detailed her battle with Lyme disease.

Our gal has used her struggle with her health to inspire this new music and WE CAN'T WAIT.

"I was able to turn that fight into music I’m really proud of. I wrote songs in my bed and on the couch and recorded there mostly as well. Words and lyrics that were so true to my experience came pouring out of me effortlessly," she wrote.

By the sounds of it, this album will be an absolute banger and we are living for the new single.

In the run up to its release you can guarantee our playlists will be throwbacks to all her classic hits from the naughties.

Now we are off to try and learn how to skateboard – although we don't think we'll be quite as cool as Avril was.

Calling all 00s teens!

One of the biggest boy bands of the decade have just revealed that they have a brand new album on the way.

Busted, of Year 3000 fame, are making a 2018 comeback with the launch of their new album.

The trio took to Twitter to post a recent snap of themselves lounging on some stairs (very boyband) with the caption:

'Did somebody say… new album?'

A post shared by Busted (@busted) on

The lads haven't given us a taster yet of what kind of sound their new album will provide, but they previously told This Morning that is will be similar to their signature sound.

'We just finished our fourth album, I just had the final master back on Friday, it's brilliant.'

'It's a return to form for Busted, we sat down and wrote it together and if you're a Busted fan you're going to love it because it's very much a Busted style album.'

Is it time to get our studded belts and kohl eyeliner back out?

We can all admit we’ve all had that moment where we had a good, long cry whilst listening to one of Adele’s songs. There have been many rainy mornings where we dramatically wept to Someone Like You, and plenty of nights out where we sang Hello into a wine bottle. Adele’s music has been the soundtrack to many women’s lives for years.

We have been huge fans of the Grammy winner since she released her first album 19 all the way back in 2008.

It’s been a decade since the Water Under The Bridge singer stormed the charts with her first album, but there’s no stopping Adele just yet.

Rumour has it the singer is set to release a brand new album in 2019.

According to reports, the Chasing Pavements songstress has been in talks with Sony about working on a new album.

It is understood that Adele is hoping to head to the studio later this summer, where she will write a wave of chart-topping hits.

A source shared: “She’s back in the UK and intends to write here. A number of studio musicians have been approached to work with her and she’s already penned some of the songs.”

The new album is rumoured to be released next Christmas. We are beyond excited. If anyone needs us we’ll be singing along to Make You Feel My Love for the foreseeable future.

Cathy tunes, inoffensive melodies and relatable lyrics are the pillars on which Ed Sheeran has crafted his first three albums, however, it looks like the singer-songwriter could be putting that winning formula to bed for the time being, as he hints a change of direction for his next album.

Released in March of last year, his most recent album Divide went multi-platinum across the globe, however he said not concerned if his new music does not do well commercially.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, the 27-year-old explained how he does not want to give into the pressure of making another hit record.

"The next record I'm making isn't a pop album and the reason is people expect the next album to be bigger."

"If I control it and say: 'Here's a low-flying record I f****** love,' then my fans will be like, 'Yay!' and the pop world will be like, 'Well, maybe the next one'.

"No one will say, 'That's a flop.' It'll just be, 'That's what he wanted to do."

Pop or not, we're excited to hear what Ed does next!

Taylor Swift fans, look away now.

The singer seems to have made a pretty drastic social media decision this morning, as all of her online accounts have been deleted.

Taylor, who is one of the most followed celebrities in the world, quietly removed herself from social media platforms Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram.

It is unknown whether or not the singer plans to return after a social media sabbatical, or if she plans on staying gone for good.

Fans are hoping that this wipe out means that Taylor is planning something big, like a new album.

It worked wonders for Ed Sheeran, after all.

The official Taylor Swift website has also been blacked out, so it seems likely that Taylor is gearing up to surprise fans with something new.

The social media sabbatical also comes on the three year anniversary of the release of Shake It Off, and anniversary of the announcement of her latest album 1989.

Whatever you're plotting Tay, we're ready.

It's been almost five years since Kesha released her last album, Warrior,  but she's finally back with her most emotional record to date.

Since 2014, the singer has been involved in a very public legal battle with music producer, Dr. Luke, following allegations of sexual assault.

In August 2016, Kesha dropped the case saying, "this lawsuit [has been] so heavy on my once free spirit, and I can only pray to one day feel that happiness again”, however, Dr. Luke has since been dismissed by Sony Music.

Kesha's highly anticipated comeback album, Rainbow, was written during her court battle, which she admits was a dark time in her life.

Now writer and producer Ricky Reed, has said the new record is "gonna change the world".

He told People magazine: "Some of the most emotional experiences I’ve had in the studio have been with Kesha … I mean, the world is not ready for the music that she’s making right now. It’s heart-stopping; I think it’s gonna change the world."

"She’s channelled so many experiences into just some of the most honest and powerful songs that I’ve ever been a part of. I really think the world of her, and also, I can’t wait for the world to hear her sing the way she’s been singing in my studio – it really is a very, very special album. I’m just so honoured to be a part of it."

Speaking to Metro.co.uk during a special playback of her new tracks, the singer said: "I am so nervous, which I never get nervous, and I’ve never felt like I’ve ever written close to this in my life before. I’ve never been in touch with a huge part of who I am and who I’ve become."

"I am very very grateful for all of you for being supportive and being open to listening to my music. There was a very long, long long period of time when I wasn't sure if I’d be able to put music out again."

Rainbow is out August 11, but for now, you can check out the first single from the album, Praying, below.

Calling all 90s fans!

TLC have dropped a new single Way Back, and the nostalgia is nearly too much

The song is from their upcoming album, which has yet to be named. This album is reported to be their last.

iHeartRadio premiered the track on yesterday, and the smooth, 90s vibes are strong.

"It's been a long, long time coming," are the opening lyrics to the track, which seems pretty apt.

The girl band turned to a Kickstarter campaign to fund the new album, raising over €405,041.00 for the project.

"The album date is firm, June 30th is the release of the new TLC album that you made happen," reads a statement on the Kickstarter page.

The band are also taking to social media, to ask fans what the album should be called.

So, while we have you; don't forget to have your say in the inaugural SHEmazing Awards this May! It's time to vote, and you can do it right here!

We loved her in the early noughties with songs like I'm Like A Bird and Promiscuous.

And now Nelly Furtado is making a comeback.

The 38-year-old is back after a five year break from the music. Her last album was in 2012 with The Spirit Indestructible.

Nelly said that her new album, The Ride, comes from meeting her lifelong musical inspiration, St Vincent, while at a festival in Japan a few years ago.

She told the Herald Sun: "I am such a huge fan so I was so pleased to see her name on the bill and that she was playing the same stage.

"And then she comes up to talk to me and I'm like 'She knows who I am!' We're in my dressing room and I'm feeling like a dorky, lame pop star in front of a rock star."

We can't wait to hear the full album.

More than a decade since the release of their last album, A Bigger Bang, one of the industry's biggest bands have announced that they're releasing a new album.

That's right, ladies – The Rolling Stones have today confirmed that Blue and Lonesome will hit shelves in December of this year.

The band are understandably pumped about the album of blues covers which was recorded over just three days earlier this year.

Speaking at the time of recording, Keith Richards said: "They sound so authentic it's frightening. We didn't spend any time rehearsing them or anything."

"We just picked a song that suited Mick's harmonica or a guitar riff… and they worked out pretty good. It was like, 'this is what the Stones do, we play blues."

And if you can't wait until December to get the ball rolling, make sure you have your head in the game tomorrow for the pre-order kick-off.

Oh, and for those of you who do decide to pre-order, there'll be a brand new song in it for you… and immediately too.
