MTV Movie Awards

Last night, the MTV Movie Awards took place, and it certainly looked like a night to remember.

However, one of the stand out moments of the night was when Emma Watson took home the first ever genderless gong.

Emma was awarded the MTV popcorn prize of Best Actor for her work in the remake of Beauty and the Beast.

The honour was a little different than it's been in the past, because this year MTV decided to change the practice of separating the prize to an 'Actor' or 'Actress', meaning that Emma took home a totally gender-neutral award.

During her acceptance speech, Emma said: "The first acting award in history that doesn't separate nominees based on their sex says something about how we perceive the human experience.

"MTV's move to create a genderless award for acting will mean something different to everyone. But to me it indicates that acting is about the ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes and that doesn't need to be separated into two different categories."

"I think I'm being given this award because of who Belle is and what she represents," she continued.

"The villagers in our fairy tale wanted to make Belle believe the world was smaller than the way that she saw it, with fewer opportunities for her.

"I love playing someone who didn't listen to any of that."

We couldn't be more delighted for Emma.

Bad news for the Zac Efron lovers out there, as it’s been revealed that the actor has been dating his Neighbors co-star Halston Sage, for some time now.

It seems the couple got together not long after Zac’s stay in rehab and of course, while filming Neighbors together.

An insider said, the couple were definitely an item and Halston’s friends love Efron.

It was also pretty much confirmed that Zac and Halston are an item, after they were spotted acting all loved-up at a basketball game.

Oh well, we can just look at the pictures of Zac from the MTV Movie Awards to cheer ourselves up.

Rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube has slammed MTV for losing out on an award that went to the late actor Paul Walker.

Ice Cube was not happy that the award for Best Onscreen Duo was dedicated to Paul Walker and his co-star Vin Diesel at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards for their performance in Fast & Furious 6.

Ice Cube insisted the award should have gone to him and Kevin Hart for their performance in Ride Along, and said the only reason Walker, who died in a car crash in November, won was out of “sympathy.”

“We was robbed,” he said. “Shame on MTV.”

“We had the best chemistry of everybody nominated. For us not to win was crazy,” Ice Cube added.

Ice Cube did however add that MTV should have given the late actor the award before he passed away.

The star left the awards halfway through the show saying afterwards, “I just wasn’t into it. I have been going in and out of these things for 25 years.  If you ain’t into it, why torture yourself?  As soon as you get bored, get up and leave.”
