Anyone who has seen Mad Max: Fury Road will likely agree that it would be pretty terrifying to live in that on-screen world, but a cast member has revealed that shooting the movie was at points equally frightening.

Actress Megan Gale, who plays Valkyrie in the new film, has opened up on the potentially life-threatening risks she took to shoot some of the action scenes.

The 39-year-old set the scene for Smash It TV: “There’s one scene where I come off the bike and I’ve got to roll to the left, to the right, and back again, to dodge all this ongoing war party traffic.”

“They were whizzing past me at crazy speeds and there was dust everywhere. I couldn’t see properly and we did a rehearsal and [the producers] kind of said, ‘Okay, the cars are going to hit their marks, you hit your mark and we should be fine’,” she recalled.

It was only when Gale watched the movie back that she realised, had the scene not gone according to plan, her life could have been threatened by the stunt.

She revealed: “When I watched the film back I was like, ‘If one of us was just a bit off, I would have been toast.'”

How deeply terrifying does that sound? Thank God no one was injured.
