British singer Rita Ora has landed herself in a sticky situation after being accused of lip-syncing during her performance at Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

John Legend has also been dragged into the controversy as viewers send in hundreds of complaints regarding the televised event.

Organisers apologised to the audience of millions, citing "technical difficulties" as the reason for the out of sync vocals, which we have to admit are pretty damn cringeworthy:

Ora was singing Let You Love Me when the technical errors occurred, and was hit with a flurry of critique after viewers proclaimed the whole musical event as a falsity.

Macy's released a statement saying:

"Several recording artists experienced technical difficulties that negatively impacted their performance. We apologise and want fans to know these issues were out of the artist’s control."

Watching Ora try and salvage the song on top of a bizarre float is arguably as tough to watch as Cheryl's now-infamous X-Factor performance.

Ora replied to the statement on Twitter, thanking the company for it's candour:

Diana Ross and John Legend also performed, but Ora has faced the brunt of the criticism from the audience.

The "first LGBTQ kiss" in the history of the event also took place during a performance of The Prom.

We feel for Rita, I mean having a blunder during the world's largest parade can't have been easy.

At least her sophomore album Phoenix is on track to hit the UK number 1 slot already, after only being released yesterday.

We think she'll be grand…

If there's one thing that Bruno Mars won't accept, it's accusations that he lip-syncs when he takes to the stage to perform.

After appearing on X Factor last month, the Locked Out of Heaven singer was subject to criticism that he had mimed 24K Magic – something which he adamantly denied during an interview with NME this week.

Sounding pretty outraged by the speculation, Bruno said he can take most things that are thrown at him over the course of his career, but he won't let this one slide.

“I was reading something about me miming. Which is… well, you can say anything you want about me or my music, or make any kind of joke you want, but that to me is like, well, I’m going to get extremely insulted.”

Reflecting on the rumours that circulated following his X Factor performance, Bruno sounded genuinely insulted by the public's perception of  his performance.

"You have no idea how hard we rehearse. Just seeing that, it blew me away. Like, ‘What are they seeing? What do you mean!?" he asked.

The singer, who is due to play Dublin next year, insisted that the idea of lip-syncing is not something he would ever accept from himself or anyone else.

"Never! I’ve never lip-synced. I could have a 150-degree fever and I’ll still be up there, singing live. That’s our profession. That’s what we do.” he finished.

Right, now let that be the end of it…

Yes, the Jenner sisters grew up as part of a multi-million dollar dynasty and had the majority of their adolescent years documented by E! cameras.

But even Kendall and Kylie went through that awkward teenage stage, as evidenced by one incredible piece of internet history.

Some genius has unearthed a long-forgotten home video of K, K and two friends lip-synching to – we LOVE this part – Taylor Swift.

Before she was strutting on stage with Taylor in London's Hyde Park – and hanging out with her ex Harry Styles – Kendall Jenner was just another obsessive Swift fan like most other girls her age.

And what better way to embrace the obsession than to record a 3.5 minute clip of yourself lip-synching to one of Taylor's hits?

While the dubbing is oh-so bad, the editing and filming is fairly slick, so we're guessing the foursome had help – perhaps the KUWTK production crew stepped in.

Whatever series of events led to the creation of this video. it's out there in the world now and you need to watch it. All of it.

Our fave part is Kendall's slow-mo rock star kicks at 1:07…

 Amazing.

Many people across the Internet seem to agree that Heidi Klum WON Halloween with her extravagant Jessica Rabbit costume.

But unless you were actually at her famous party, you might not have known that her commitment to the character extended to an actual performance.

Yes, Heidi lip-synced to Why Don't You Do Right, the song Jessica sang in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

And staying true to her Halloween get-up, Heidi even flirted with some of the party attendees. We'd certainly say this was a party to remember:

Jimmy Fallon loves nothing more than a good lip sync battle, and when he had Justin Timberlake on his show this week he offered up a battle with a difference.

Justin and Jimmy were on opposite sides of the table for once, with Justin drafted in as a judge instead of a competitor. And the perfect opponent for Jimmy? Ellen DeGeneres of course.

Competition was fierce. Jimmy pulled out all of the stops with his rendition of Silento’s Watch Me (Whip/ Nae Nae), even including a VERY impressive 'stanky leg':

Which was actually kind of incredible.

Ellen was clearly building up to a big finish though.

She took the time to introduce her song choice and dropped a few hints.

Yes. Ellen did a Rihanna cover. It was mind blowing.

Nobody had any chill whatsoever. Justin actually handed her the money.

You can watch the whole battle below:

OK so we very almost fell off the stage (yes, it’s an imaginary stage) when we heard this one: everyone – you, us, your friend's neighbour’s cousin who got 550 in the Leaving; your cousin who failed his – is being given the chance to appear in a Hollywood movie.

And not just any Hollywood movie, no siree: only one of the most eagerly-anticipated releases of 2017… namely Pitch Perfect 3!

Yes, we just died a little and went to a-ca-heaven. But don’t worry, we’ve recovered sufficiently now to get our lip-syncing game in proper order.

That’s because virtual auditions are taking place RIGHT NOW via the DubSmash lip-sync app.

It’s time to kick off rehearsals too because you only have until September 20 to submit your entry – which then needs to be uploaded onto Twitter, Instagram or Vine along with the hashtag #PitchSmashUK.

Your challenge is to recreate your favourite moment from this year’s Pitch Perfect 2 sequel.

The most creative clip with the strongest lip synch will be rewarded with… (drum-roll, please) the trip of a lifetime to the US where filming will take place; the chance to see your name in the movie credits, as well as major bragging rights for life.

The winner will be announced on September 21, to coincide with the DVD and Blu-ray launch of Pitch Perfect 2.

Pitch Perfect 2 stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson, and was directed by Elizabeth Banks, aka commentator Gail Abernathy-McKadden-Feinberger.

Thankfully, both Anna and Rebel, as well as Brittany Snow, will all be returning to their roles for the third instalment – which will be unveiled in 2017.

When bad lip syncing happens to good singers, it’s time to worry about the music industry!

Arguably one of the best voices in the business, Mariah Carey suffered an embarrassing episode on stage on Saturday at The Jazz and Blues Festival. The singer was recorded blatantly lip-syncing to her hits and has now been met with lots of criticism.

The footage comes not long after it was announced that Mariah would be taking on a Vegas residency, so fans are bound to be upset.

It's not the first time Mariah's singing has been called into question after she was slammed over the Christmas holidays for faltering vocals.

Lip-synching is something of an art. Some of us can do it like pros, and some of us just hope for the best.

But we'd never let a bad sense of rhythm or no knowledge of the words stop us from air-singing to anything. Especially not Taylor Swift.

This toddler's version of Shake It Off is hilarious… and it pretty much mirrors own our skills!

There's nothing worse than being caught unawares giving it socks to your favourite song… but at least no-one would ever publish it online. Right? RIGHT?

This policeman's hilarious Taylor Swift tribute was caught in full on his car's dashboard camera, and his cruel colleagues have posted the entire thing to YouTube.

We know he might be more than a little embarrassed today, but we have to say, those are some FLY moves!

Taylor even submitted her own official feedback of the poor cop's performance, posting the video on her official Twitter account and instantly bringing the view count up into the millions:

Global online fame for lip synching to a pop song… just a standard day in the life of a cop!
