Now that we’ve waved goodbye to Halloween we can finally start getting excited about the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas is approaching and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.

It is the jolliest time of year and I’m ready to embrace the festive cheer.

One of Dublin’s best cinemas is hosting a Christmas season and I will be spending most of December there with a giant bucket of popcorn and a never-ending list of Christmas movies to watch.

The Lighthouse Cinema Dublin revealed their Naughty or Nice season today and they’ll be showing a heap of classic flicks over the holiday period.

Get ready to watch your most beloved Christmas movies on the big screen because they’re showing everything from Elf to Die Hard.

You can watch Hugh Grant shimmy around in Love Actually or shudder at Donald Trump’s cameo in Home Alone 2.

This year’s Naughty or Nice season is extra special because the Lighthouse Cinema has teamed up with Sing Along Social for The Muppet Christmas Carol Singalong

They’ll be hosting a screening of the classic family film followed by a festive sing-song and perhaps some dancing if you’re feeling uber jolly.

There’s so much to choose from and something for every age from December 1, every day until December 23.

Difficult and all as it is to believe, it’s been a staggering twenty years since the biggest popstars of our childhood took to the silver screen to showcase their acting abilities.

That’s right; Spice World: The Movie premiered in 1997, and we are officially ancient.

But instead of lamenting our past youth, our favourite Dublin cinema is inviting us to revisit the past with a special viewing of the now iconic movie, and we are so on board.

Acutely aware how much this movie meant to a generation of Girl Power devotees, the Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield is hosting a screening to celebrate its birthday.

“Join Geri, Emma, Victoria and the two Mels on a double decker adventure of a life time as they prepare for the biggest concert of their lives at the Royal Albert Hall,” the cinema urges on their Facebook page.

From 10.45 pm on Saturday September 9, you and the squad are encouraged to don your highest platforms, unearth your favourite LBD, and channel your inner Spice Girl. And that’s exactly what we’ll be doing.

Ladies, it’s time to spice up your lives.

Jeff Goldblum has been a stand out actor for many, many years now.

With movie hits such as Jurassic Park, The Fly and Independence Day, it's safe to say he's starred in many blockbusters, and now is your chance to watch them all in the same place.

The Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield is holding a Jeff Goldblum day next week to honour his many roles, and it seems like quite an evening.

Its website reads: "What better day to celebrate the magnificence of Jeff Goldblum than the 16th of June, Bloomsday, known forevermore in Light House Cinema as Jeff Goldblum's Day (pronounced Bloom or Blum, it rhymes).

"We've selected three of his most iconic characters and performances to celebrate and give thanks for his wonderful existence.

On Friday June 16, the cinema will open its doors to Jeff's fans so they can enjoy watching his flicks on the big screen.

When it comes to Halloween, some people like to observe and others like to get stuck in.

So, if you're not one for interactive haunted houses or full-on terror walks, but still adore Halloween, why not check out the Monster Season laid on by Dublin's Lighthouse cinema this month?

Kicking off on October 28th and running until the 31st, the Smithfield cinema, as part of the Bram Stoker festival, will be showing a range of the industry's most iconic monster movies,  and we are all over it.

From The Mummy to Frankenstein, these 1930s movies put modern-day horrors to shame.

Oh, and if you feel like wheeling out your traditional garb and dressing up while getting your shriek on, go for it.

See you there, ladies.
