The celebrity contestants are gearing up to take part in Strictly Come Dancing 2019, but their identities have remained secret over the last few weeks.

The stars have once again been given hidden codenames to conceal their identities, and this year's theme has been unveiled: Superheroes.

According to HELLO! Magazine, the mix of stars include Batman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Mystique, Catwoman, Hulk, Captain America and Bananaman.

"In less than two weeks the pros go back. The professionals do all the professional routines. So we have a month where we go in every day to learn a new dance and then we meet the celebrities. When I find out who my celebrity is, it's legit on camera and on TV, so it's very exciting."

Big changes are afoot on this years' show, with new judge Motsi Mabuse revealed just the other day. Motsi is the older sister of Strictly pro Oti Mabuse, and is taking over from Dame Darcey Bussell.

"I am absolutely overjoyed to be joining the Strictly judging panel," she said. "I have so much respect and admiration for the other three judges and hope to add my own bit of sparkle to the show. I can't wait to get started."

Former champion Ore Oduba, who lifted the Glitterball Trophy in the 2016 series with Joanne Clifton, spoke of the difficulties Darcey’s replacement Motsi will face:

“I think whoever they choose is someone who has that wealth of knowledge. These pros know what they’re talking about.

“You see them getting judged, it’s a very difficult world if you’re laying judgment on people who know more than you," he continued. “But all the pros respect each other."

Darcey Bussell has hung up her judges shoes and called it a day on Strictly Come Dancing.

And now the question on everyone lips is – who will take her place?

The Strictly pros have been vocal on their choice and it should come as no surprise to anyone that it's beloved fellow pro dancer Anton du Beke.

The 52-year-old, who has been with the BBC show since it began in 2004, has emerged as a firm favourite with viewers as well as his fellow dancers.

The bookies are placing Anton as their favourite, with former Strictly professional Karen Hardy not far behind.

However also rumoured to be in the running is pro dancer Oti Mabuse, who was a coach on BBC's The Greatest Dancer.

A source at the BBC dance show has revealed that "loveable Anton" is the "cast's favourite choice" and some believe "it’s time for him to hang up his dancing shoes and sit on the other side of the table."

There was a back-handed compliment about Anton's dance skills thrown in, with the source calling him a "well-loved professional" but pointed out that "his glory years are over.''

This isn't Anton's first time trying to get on the judges panel as he auditioned to replace Len Goodman as head judge, but the role was given to Shirley Ballas.

So are his days being stuck with the novelty act behind him and will he rake a seat on teh panel next to Craig Revel-Horwood and Bruno Tonioli?

It looks like we better watch this space…

She wrote, ''It has been a complete privilege for me to be part of Strictly, working with such a talented team. I have enjoyed every minute of my time and will miss everyone from my fellow judges, the presenters, the dancers, the musicians, the entire backstage team, and especially the viewers of the show, who have been so supportive.''

She continued, ''I am not leaving because of any upset or disagreement at all, I am just stepping away to give more focus to my many other commitments in dance, after seven truly wonderful years that I can’t imagine having gone any better.''

She added, ''I know I will miss being part of this unique show and the fact that it celebrates dance is something I am so passionate about. I hope that I may be very lucky to be asked back again one day."

Her fans were shocked and saddened at the announcement.

One said, ''Oh nooooo!! I’m so gutted that you are leaving!! Strictly won’t seem the same without! Best of luck with future projects.''

While another wrote, ''That is such a shame – you have brought so much to the show.''

Strictly will be waltzing back onto BBC One this autumn for its 17th series but we have a feeling that it won't quite be the same without one of favourite judges.

Last week, America’s first female Muslim judge, Sheila Adbus-Salaam was found dead in New York’s Hudson River.

Shelia’s body was found last Wednesday afternoon, full clothed, with no signs of obvious trauma.

It was originally thought that the 65-year-old had taken her own life, but The New York Police Department are now treating her death as suspicious.

Stephen Davis, a spokesman for the force told ABC7NY : “We’re looking at it as a suspicious death at this point. We haven’t found any clear indications of criminality, but at this point we can’t say for sure.’’

‘’We’re hoping if anyone could shed any light into the hours before her disappearance, it would help us establish what happened.”

According to the New York Post, investigations are continuing and CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined.

The newspaper also reported that Shelia was found water in her lungs and slight bruising around her neck, however, the official postmortem results are yet to be released.

The NYPD took to Twitter to make a public appeal for any information surrounding Shelia’s death.

Shelia's husband, Rev. Gregory Jacobs, also pleaded with the local Harlem community to come forward with any information that might be useful in the ivestigation.

According to NBC he said: "Sheila loved Harlem and its people and lived there for nearly all of her adult life. I now join with the NYPD in asking anyone in the neighborhood to step forward with any information that might help us determine what may have happened during those hours before her death."

Something tells us the judge that dismissed this case for Taylor is a bit of a Swifty.

Jessie Braham accused Taylor of taking lyrics for her song Shake it Off from his track Haters Gone Hate, which he claimed 92% of the song was plagiarised from his.

The case was brought to court this week and was dismissed due to lack of evidence. But the way the verdict was delivered by Judge Gail Standish is going to win the hearts of Taylor Swift fans everywhere.

“At present, the Court is not saying that Braham can never, ever, ever get his case back in court,” Judge Standish wrote. “But, for now, we have got problems, and the Court is not sure Braham can solve them.

"As currently drafted, the Complaint has a blank space—one that requires Braham to do more than write his name. And, upon consideration of the Court's explanation . . . Braham may discover that mere pleading Band-Aids will not fix the bullet holes in his case. At least for the moment, Defendants have shaken off this lawsuit.”

….even though he hadn’t died!

When Tom Jones began trending on Twitter on Sunday, everyone assumed he had died.

Rather, it was quite the opposite; the Welsh singer had performed at the AFL grand final in Australia.

Many people took to Twitter to say that when they saw his name trending, they instantly assumed he had passed away.

Harsh…!

Thankfully, The Voice judge is still alive, well and singing!

A judge in the US state of Texas has issued a warrant for the arrest of rapper, Wiz Khalifa.

Wiz, who is married to model, Amber Rose, was arrested back in May for marijuana possession at El Paso International Airport in Texas.

Now, after failing to turn up for a court appearance, Wiz appears to be in even bigger trouble and could easily find himself back in prison.

Not that he seems too worried, that is…

The rapper uploaded a risqué photo of his wife, Amber, to his Instagram page only 10 hours ago.

She’s never been one to mince her words, but this time Sharon Osbourne may have gone a little too far.

The former X Factor judge has admitted she can’t stand talent shows!

Sharon said she’s sick of judging other people’s talent, and listening to the contestant’s “sob stories.”

Sharon said, “If one more person stands up in front of me and sings… I’ve had it with people singing at me. I have had it with people singing on TV.

“And they’ve all got something wrong – they have either got one lung, one kidney, or they came up like this or that. They’ve all got somebody sick in hospital.

“It’s like, ‘Oh lord, just shut up and sing’. But when they sing, it’s like ‘please stop it.’”

She went on to slam talent show judges and their “fake tears.”

“If I see another judge cry… and as soon as they go out the door we burst out laughing,” said Sharon

The X Factor wasn’t the only show Sharon hit out at.

Speaking about The Voice she said, “They are making it out like it is just The Voice. Well hold on here, if ‘you are butt ugly and 9000 pounds’, what are we going to do with you?”

Don’t hold back Sharon!
