Surprising a bride on her wedding day is risky business.

It takes guts to throw a spanner in the works of a day that has been meticulously planned from start to finish, but if you can pull it off, the results can be truly spectacular – we all remember Tom Flecther's wedding speech, right?

Well, another man who has managed to successfully surprise his blushing bride is former Irish rugby union player, Fionn McLoughlin.

Before travelling to Vancouver for his wedding last month, Fionn took Irish dance lessons in London so he could debut his new skills in front of his unsuspecting wife, Heather.

In a video posted to The Irish Post's Facebook page, four young dancers can be seen performing for guest before Fionn takes to the floor for a river dance style routine.

Upon his entrance, Fionn was met with a standing ovation and a look of complete and utter shock from Heather who danced who danced behind the head table as she cheered her hubby on.

We're not sure where he got those moves from, but he definitely gives Michael Flatley a run for his money!

The Irish dancing community has been reaching out to Ed Sheeran via viral video since his revelation that he will be seeking Irish dancers for his next music video.

“I’m definitely shooting a video for the song in Ireland,” he told Eoghan McDermott on his 2FM show.

In a bid to get the attention of the red-haired singer, dancers and dance troupes alike have been uploading their best steps under the hashtag #STEP4SHEERAN in a bid to gain his attention.

Chris Naish, the brainchild behind modern Irish dance concept Fusion Fighters, decided to put together a montage of some of the finest Irish talent out there in a video in the hopes that Ed's people would take notice.

The dancer and dance teacher was soon overwhelmed with entries, and has continued to post some of the best after compiling his montage video.

A troupe of eight Galway girls from the Hession School of Irish Dance have since gone viral under the #STEP4SHEERAN hashtag, in a video that has been seen on Facebook over 284,000 times.

The troupe danced up a storm at Galway's Claddagh to a medley of Ed's Shape of You and a traditional Irish tune.

Other dancers have posted videos themselves in the hopes of capturing the singers attention.

Ed recently revealed some very Irish-oriented songs on his new album, hence his hunt for Irish ceili dancers.

“I’ve got a trad band called Beoga. They’re actually from Belfast, but they’ve – it’s a fiddle, a pipe, a bodhrán and piano. And we really jam,” he explained to Eoghan McDermott.

“It’s going to be good. I do think I’ll never be able to play another song in Ireland again because this will be the song.," he said of his upcoming hit entitled Galway Girl.

“There’s a song on the bonus album that’s about Co. Wexford so there’s two Irish jams on there both with full trad."

We've seen some gas things at Luas stops in our day, but none of them have ANYTHING on this Irish dancing bride who was captured on camera this weekend.

While waiting at the Jervis Street stop, Facebook user, Christian Murdoch, found himself understandably captivated by the scene unfolding in front of him, and thankfully grabbed his phone in time to share it with the rest of us.

In a floor-length wedding gown and veil, a woman decided to kick up her heels (literally) and dance a jig with another girl while a bystander provided the soundtrack for their performance,

The footage, which has been viewed more than 5,000 times since its upload, was captioned: "I was really enjoying this then the Luas came!"

While Facebook users were quick to give props to the two dancers, an even bigger number were impressed by the singer, with one member of the public writing: "Let's hope the video goes viral and he gets some kind of recording deal!"

Ladies, this is why we love our country…

Is that what we think it is? Oh why yes it is… it's Alex Mytton trying his best to Irish dance.

Irish model and Made In Chelsea star, Nicola Hughes, just posted a downright hilarious video of her terribly posh English boyfriend, Alex Mytton, attempting to get a bit of a céilí going.

And we think you'll agree, it makes for some truly excellent viewing…

The video was posted from Co. Cavan, where Alex was clearly getting into the Irish spirit – or certainly trying to.

At least the couple themselves seem stronger than ever – both on screen and off. In a brand new interview with OK magazine, the pair open up about their feud with MIC's Jess Woodley, as well as their future together.

In the interview, the 25 year-old Dubliner admits that she felt betrayed when she found out that Jess, an ex of Alex’s and someone who Nicola had thought of as a friend, said she had "unfinished business" with him.

“I didn’t know she fancied my boyfriend. I gave her the chance to tell me how she felt and she chose not to.”

But Jess’ crush on Alex doesn’t seem to have had too much of an impact on the couple, who admitted that they have talked about getting married and having kids in the future.

Alex even admitted: “I’ve thought about proposing to Nicola when I’ve been drunk.”

Oh we really hope that this happens on air! A Made In Chelsea wedding is exactly what we need.
