Whether you're printing an assignment, boarding passes or uber-urgent work documents, your ink levels always seen to be low at the worst moment.

It’s a problem we had almost come to accept, until HP came along with the answer to all our prayers.

This week, the tech company announced the Irish launch of HP Instant Ink, a new subscription printing service that takes the hassle out of replacing cartridges and could save you up to 70 per cent annually.

As soon as a customer signs up to the HP Instant Ink program and inserts an Instant Ink cartridge, their device will continually send its ink levels to HP.

The device will then automatically detect when levels are low and order a new cartridge to be delivered right to your door.

Gary Tierney, HP Ireland Managing Director, said: “At HP, we’re continually reinventing our products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers and deliver technology that makes life better for everyone.’’

‘’Taking this approach to consumer printing, HP has developed a service that reinvents home printing and can reduce customer costs by hundreds of Euros.”

The HP Instant Ink service is available now from Currys PC World and Harvey Norman retail stores across the country.

The cost-effective subscription plan offers customers three monthly pricing options based on how often they print per month:

  • €2.99 /month for Occasional Printing (50 pages per month)

  • €4.99 /month for Moderate Printing (100 pages per month)

  • €9.99 /month for Frequent Printing (300 pages per month)

HP Instant Ink is also compatible with a wide range of existing HP printers, including:

  • HP DeskJet 3700 Series

  • HP ENVY 4520 Series

  • HP ENVY 5540 Series

  • HP ENVY 5640 Series
