Festival season is fast approaching, and while it may be all about the music and creating memories with friends, planning killer outfits is all part of the fun.

This year, a cohort of Irish influencers took to the Californian desert, to attend arguably the most talked about music festival of the year – Coachella.

Among the Irish it-gals was fitness and beauty queen Niamh Cullen, who began creating braiding tutorials, ab videos and ootds ls on social media and who now boasts one of the biggest followings the Emerald Isle has to offer. Niamh has cut her teeth in the fashion world, becoming known for her comfy but cool approach to day dressing, and serving scorchingly trendy looks by evening.

While her usual style is definitely chic, she stepped it up while attending the American music festival, rocking looks ranging from fringed leather chaps to custom-made bodysuits.

While on the road to the festival during Weekend 1, Niamh paused to capture a picture surrounded by the desert elements, and shared an exciting piece of news in the caption.

'Day 1 : No better to place to announce this news. My FESTIVAL EDIT WITH @nastygal LAUNCHES NEXT WEEK !!!! Honestly a dream come true for me , still can’t believe it' she wrote.

Nasty Gal is known for it's collabs with some mega names in style – designing collections with Emma Louise Connolly and teaming up to creating edits with Louise Cooney.

Since Niamh's announcement, fans have eagerly awaited her edit – and it finally dropped today.

Peppered among Nasty Gal's festival offerings, Niamh's picks stand out as examples of her signature style – classic with a hint of edge.

From neutral printed dresses to ruffles trousers, and crochet tops to fringed sparkly jackets, there is definitely something to suit everyone's style.

If you're not one to spend hours plotting and planning your outfits for the festival circuit, Niamh is making it easy thanks to her put-together outfit selections.

Team any of her choices with a pair of chunky black biker boots or white cowboy boots, and throw on a black matador hat or festival crown, and you're good to go.

'Someone pinch me ,' she penned on Instagram ' Can’t even believe it! Two years on sharing my abs before bed + endless OOTDs .. …To this I hope you all like it. Don’t feel real at all for little ole me.'

The influencer's edit has been shared across social media today, so we're sure we'll be spotting her style picks at every Irish festival this summer.

So as of about 45 seconds ago, the sun was (and still is) shining – HURRAH.

This sheer glimpse at the possibility of summer has me all excited.

I'm excited for beach holidays, packing my coats away, and of course, all the deadly music festivals coming to Ireland.

Whether your a Longitude lover, or more of a Body & Soul kind of gal, you'll defo be thinking about the style.

What will you wear? What makeup look are you going for? WHAT will you be doing with your hair?

Lucky for you, I'm here to help.

Last summer, the gorge humans at Babooshka got me all glittered uo for Longitude, and it has got me thinking about groovy hairstyles.

And so to Pinterest I went, and found some serious festival hair inspo, for your viewing pleasure:

1. Boho chic

Okay, I need this chick's hair immediately. Boho waves, paired with a fishtail plait and ruffled up space buns? Perfection.

 2. Hair tattoos

So, you probably be finding gold flecks in your hair for weeks, but I honestly think it's worth it! How groovy does this look?

 3. Alternative ponytail

For many of us, long hair can be a slight hindrance when you want to dance and enjoy yourself. Enter: the ponytail. But when it comes to the festival pony, why not add a few plaits, and be a bit different?

4. Flower Power

I'm honestly SO over floral crowns, but that doesn't mean I'm over flowers in general. I love the idea of popping a few cute daisies along a plait!

5. Top knot.

Ah, the simple top knot. You just can't go wrong.

6. Glitter. Always.

Big dirty YES to smothering ourselves in glitter this festival season. Embrace your inner unicorn.

7. Few feathers, be grand.

Keep your look simple enough with straight locks and a few feathers thrown in. Can't go wrong.

 8. Go all out.

Colourful dye? Check. Loads of glitter? Check. Mad looking space buns? CHECK!

9. Fab fishtails.

We are LOVING these soft fishtail plaits, paired with cute flowers. Also, the colour of her hair is divine. 10/10.

10. When in doubt… boxer braids.

A classic. They keep your hair out of your face, and you'll look groovy. What's not to like?

From glitter eyebrows to bright pink space buns, festival season is the perfect time to get creative with your style.

All rules go out the window and it's basically a free pass to wear whatever the hell you want.

Last year, thousands of festival-goers celebrated their femininity by ditching the bras and decorating their boobs with glitter and jewels – which was pretty damn cool of you ask us.

But this year, the fabulous ladies of the festival world have taken things one step further and are covering their tatas with dainty flowers instead.

Gorgeous, yet empowering, the bold new look was created by Face Florals, a company that specialise in pressed flowers to decorate your face and body.

According to Metro, Flowers Boobs came to life when a customer stuck the petals to her chest rather than her face, creating this year's ultimate festival trend.

But don't worry if the idea of getting your boobs out doesn't exactly fell you with joy – you can still jump on the flower power bandwagon by using the accessories on other parts of your body.

The brand also sell a range of other adorable bits including daisies that can be dotted around your eyes and sprigs for you hair.

Weekend Two of Coachella is under way, and while we could sit here and fantasize all we want about hitting up the LA festival, we're trying to plan for ones more close to home.

A gang of Irish influencers made the trip over, and we're taking inspiration from them for our upcoming festival shopping trips.

The gals were all slaying the game, and we're hopping on to these festival trend they showcased:

Matador Hats

Hats are a staple wen it comes to festival style.

As well as giving you all the fash-hun credentials, they're practical when it comes to keeping the sun off your face.

We've seen baker boy caps, visors and berets all come into style this year, but for festival season, it's all about the Matador hat, as seen on Erika Fox, aka Retro Flame at this year's Coachella.

ASOS Matador Hat €27.65, WareHouse Straw Matador Hat €29.00

White Boots

A post shared by Niamh Cullen (@niamhcullenx) on

While black boots may be the go-to for most festival OOTDs (or wellies if it's raining) white boots featured massively on Instagram for Coachella-goes.

The white style was spotted on both Niamh Cullen and Retro Flame during Weekend One.

While this look might not be the most practice, they're the ultimate addition to a boho look teamed with a tan. Just remember the wet wipes for those mucky marks.

KG Ankle Boots White €55.00, Amelie Leather Ring Boots €89.86

Bandana tops

A post shared by Louise Cooney (@louisecooney_) on

Louise Cooney absolutely slayed at Coachella, but it was one of her more pared-back looks that caught our eye – in particular, this seriously cool bandana top.

Louise's is from ASOS and sadly is no longer available (however, there's a similar one here), but the people at Nine Crows have been reworking scarves and bandanas into tops since forever.

While Nine Crows is definitely an essential pit stop for any festival goer's wardrobe – these tops are being added to our wishlist.

Nine Crows Reworked halter top €25.00, Nine Crows bandana bikini top €25.00

All red everything

Red has had a major moment in fashion lately, and could probably be described as the colour of 2018 so far.

Belle Azure opted to wear the shade head to toe last weekend, and now we're lusting after an all-red look.

Whether it's a playsuit or a co-ord, a matchy-matchy ensemble is the perfect antidote to the typical haphazard festival look.

Pieces Coloured Denim Trucker Jacket €55.30 and skirt €35.95, Glamorous Playsuit In Polka Dot €44.24

Fringed denim

A post shared by Aideen Murphy (@aideenkate) on

Fringed anything is a classic festival look, but hosting the texture on a denim piece gives a Western vibe that's very Coachella.

Aideen Murphy went for a seriously distressed denim jacket at Coachella, and we're planning on adding fringe to all of our denim for the Irish festival season.

Signature 8 Denim Skirt with Fringe Hem €41.48, Bead tassel trim shorts €38.00

Listen up!

Festival season is just around the corner, and if the stellar list of line-up announcements weren't enough whet your appetite, perhaps a pair of glitter clad light-up wellies will get you in the mood.

When it comes to festival style, the more outrageous, the better, and we reckon you'd be hard pushed to find a more appropriate item of clothing.

Available on ASOS, the full-length boots come in bright sparkling silver, lighting up in purple and blue when pressure is applied to the sole.

Practical, yet perfectly on trend, you'll be the talk of the campsite as you stomp around in these bad boys.

Plus, the flashing lights will make it easier for you're friends to find you when you inevitably get lost in the see of green and blue nylon.

You can pick up your very own pair for just €23.65 on asos.com – but be quick! These larger than life festival essentials are sure to sell out before summer rolls around.

Celebrity style is one of our favourite sources of inspiration when it comes to styling our own fashion friendly looks.

With festival season upon us, we're checking in on what the celebs are donning to the three-day events, and one blonde singer's style was giving us life.

Mollie King rocked a gorgeous playsuit at BST Hyde Park, where Justin Bieber, Green Day and Phil Collins all headlined over the weekend.

The summery sweet playsuit was trimmed with pom poms, so minimal accessories were all that was needed.

The former Saturdays singer teamed her playsuit with a pair or white runners and a festival staple, the khaki army jacket.

PrettyLittleThing Dobby mesh pom pom playsuit €33.75

The one annoying element about taking inspiration from the celebs is that the looks can often be from inaccessible designer collections, but luckily Mollie's playsuit is from PrettyLittleThing.

The playsuit also comes in black if worrying about keeping white pristine at a festival just isn't your prerogative.

Team yours with runners and camo like Mollie, or try toughening it up with black biker boots, a leather jacket and a trilby hat.

It may still be cold and blustery outside, but we're already dreaming of festival season.

And with Coachella only weeks away and the announcement of some MAJOR Irish gigs, we're not really getting too ahead of ourselves, are we?

Well, we probably are, but it just so happens that the high street is already gearing up for a summer of gigs and gallivanting, and River Island's new collection is festival perfection.

Top €45.00, Dress €85.00

From folky prints to heavy embroidery, River Island is taking things up a notch wen it comes to festival dressing.

Taking it's cues from boho chic, this seasons festival look is more edgy hippy than EDM raver.

Denim choker  €10.00, Limited Edition choker €25.00, Lace choker €17.00

The emphasis is on the finer details like embroidery, distressed denim and mesh accents rather than out there eccentricity.

However, there is no one way to dress when it comes to festivals, so mixing up some of these more subtle pieces to create an out-there ensemble is more than encouraged.

Plaid skirt €40.00, Distressed skirt €38.00, Mandala skirt €53.00

Denim skirts are ideal for festivals, as they are warmer than other materials, so, weather dependant, tights aren't always necessary.

If the sun isn't on our side, adding fishnet tights and a bomber jacket creates an edgy festival outfit.

Layering is also an excellent look for festivals, and this plaid shirt-come-skirt achieves the look without the actual additional garments.

 Backpack €25.00, Embroidered backpack €47.00

Backpacks are a necessity. Where else are we going to keep our dry shampoo, sunglasses, rain poncho, and maybe a spare can or two.

The embellished, studded denim of this RI trophy piece makes us weak at the knees, or if you're more of a minimalist, add a pop of colour with this rainbow hued satin drawstring bag.

Aviators €17.00, Nude frames €17.00, Blue lenses €17.00

Sunglasses are a festival must have, for both shielding your eyes from the sun and covering them up when the day three hangover sets in.

While the summer is a while away yet, there's no harm in getting a head start on festival shopping, right?
