The September issues of fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire have long been regarded as the most significant publications of the year. Each one is usually a bumper issue profiling designers’ autumn/winter collections and with a superstar cover model.

We took a look through this year’s issues from the US and the UK and picked our favourite covers to share with you. Enjoy!

Vogue USA
Anna Wintour and co. went all out this year with not one but three stars on the front cover, with two foldout pages revealing a whopper 9 models in total. The main cover was graced by Cara Delevingne, Joan Smalls and Karlie Kloss, all photographed by Mario Testino. The magazine was shorter than last year at just 631 pages – that’s still a lot of reading, we reckon!

Mario even shared this cute behind-the-scenes snap on Twitter yesterday of Cara and Karlie waiting for the shoot to begin.

Vogue UK
Most Irish shops stock only the UK version of Vogue, so most likely it’s this cover you spotted on shelves over here. Another Cara shoot – this time she had the spotlight all to herself. Photographed again by Mario Testino, Cara wore a Seventies-inspired Louis Vuitton leather and silk dress.

Elle US
Kristen Stewart got locked up in Chanel for American Elle’s September cover.

The photo shoot inside the mag took inspiration from Chanel’s supermarket-style catwalk show this year, with Kristen posing alongside groceries at Fields Market in West Hills, California. There must have been a few surprised shoppers that day!

Elle UK
The gorgeous glamour girl/supermodel Kate Upton posed in a graphic print Prada coat, bare legs and gold platform shoes for Elle’s UK cover this year.

Marie Claire US
Blake Lively looked fabulous in Gucci on this year’s Marie Claire cover. She chatted to the magazine about husband Ryan Reynolds and their desire to have a huge family together, saying “I gotta get started. If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.” Imagine how beautiful those kids are going to be!

Harper’s Bazaar US
Lady Gaga brought her adorable French bulldog Asia along for her Harper’s shoot. The singer wore top-to-toe Chanel, but in typical Lady Gaga style, she added some sex appeal with fishnet tights and a bare midriff.

Asia loved being in the spotlight, as Gaga revealed on Instagram when the cover was first published…

InStyle UK
Kate Bosworth looked like she’d been hanging out with Alice and the Mad Hatter in Wonderland when she posed in this amazing lace patchwork Valentino dress. We love it!
