The moment every Hogwarts loving muggle has been waiting for has finally arrived as the trailer for the much anticipated Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them has officially been released.

A teaser for the Hollywood blockbuster was shown at Comic-Con in San Diego this weekend where the film’s director David Yates handed out magic wands to thousands of lucky fans.

He was joined at the convention by Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne – who will play magizoologist Newt Scamander in the flick – and our very own Colin Farrell, who is set to earn his wand as a character named Graves.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is based on the 2001 book of the same name which JK Rowling wrote under the pseudonym Newt Scamander and while the story does not actively feature the original Harry Potter characters, it does focus on the magical creatures from the Harry Potter series.

The movie is set in New York in 1926 and tracks what happens when a collection of magical creatures are accidently unleashed upon the city.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for release this November.

It seems like this movie will just never come. And with every snippet of info that's given to us, it feels like the movie debut is getting closer.

But, it's not. We still have nine months to go. *Sobs*.

That's why we were super excited to get this behind the scenes video of what's going on in the wizarding world of Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them

The star of the movie, Eddie Redmayne and other cast memebers give us a little sneak peek to what the film is about and let's be real, it looks deadly.

The featurette was released last weekend as Universal in Orlando held their third annual Harry Potter weekend, and there were a few special guests there to celebrate, too.

It's January 12 and you know what that means! Don't you? Oh you don't? Well you should.

It's the sixth annual Kiss a Ginger Day!

So it's about time you grabbed your nearest and dearest flame-haired friend and planted a big smacker on them.

The day was launched on Facebook in 2009 as a response to 2008's Kick a Ginger day which sparked international outrage. Now in its sixth year, we reckon it's only a matter of time before this day becomes an internationally recognised holiday.

To celebrate, we have lined up some redheaded celebrities that we would love to bump into today….

1) Eddie Redmayne

Toeing the line flawlessly between ginger and blonde, it's only fitting that Eddie's surname is Redmayne – considering that he literally has a red… mane….

2) Ed Sheeran

This one will be controversial as when it comes to Ed Sheeran, you either love him or hate him.

From his talent to his tattoos, who are we kidding? We would definitely not miss an opportunity to plant a big one on him.

3) Damien Lewis

Rough around the edges, mysterious and a total dreamboat.

We are still recovering from his topless scenes in Homeland.

4) Rupert Grint

Who would have thought that Ron Weasley would grow into the tall, hunky looker that he did….

He could singlehandedly make all our childhood dreams come true.

5) Prince Harry

Perhaps the most eligible bachelor on our list, we would take a royal romp with this prince any day.

6) Domhnall Gleeson

How could we do a post on redheads and not include an Irish face.

Domhnall has been on our crush list for years but he really got our attention after holding his own on this smouldering Vogue shoot.

Phwoar.

He may be taking on some of the most challenging roles in Hollywood, but it seems that becoming a father is one challenge that Eddie Redmayne is not taking lightly.

The 34-year-old actor confirmed pregnancy rumours at the Golden Globes over the weekend.

When Ryan Seacrest asked if Eddie's wife was expecting, the Oscar-winning star said: "That is true."

"I’m sweating now – she’s calm I’m not."

Eddie married Hannah Bagshawe in 2014 and it seems that the whirlwind continues for Eddie whose personal and professional life is accelerating in positive ways.

Eddie was met with critical acclaim and an Oscar after portraying Stephen Hawking in 2014's massive hit, The Theory of Everything.

And he has continued to garner support and nominations this year as he plays transgender character, Einar Wegener, in the Danish Girl alongside Alicia Vikander.

The couple's first child is thought to be due in late Spring of this year.

If you are in anyway a muggle in LOVE with all things Harry Potter, you will probably already know that J.K Rowling's 2001 book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is being made into a feature film straight out of wizarding universe.

What you may not know is that the trailer was just released today and well, we can't wait to get back to Hogwarts.

While J.K's Fantastic Beasts reads as a textbook guide to the fantastical creatures that inhabit the magical world of our favourite unfortunate wizard, the book has been adapted into a story for the screen.

The movie centres around Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, who is the author of the book Fantastic Beasts book in the Harry Potter series.

When a magical expanding briefcase containing a number of fantastical and dangerous creatures is opened, it is safe to say that CHAOS ensues.

The movie is set to be released in November of next year.

Forget True Detective, Colin Farrell could be about to embark on his most exciting acting project yet – the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off.

Irish actor Colin is the latest star confirmed for Fantastic Beasts (And Where to Find Them), an "extension" of the hugely successful film franchise based on JK Rowling's Harry Potter books.

The film, set for release in November 2016, stars Eddie Redmayne in the lead role of Newt Scamander, the future writer of a Hogwarts textbook.

Colin will play Graves, a wizard Newt meets on his travels in New York. There go our hopes for a Dublin version of Diagon Alley, so.

Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler and Katherine Waterson are among the other names confirmed for the hotly anticipated film. While this will be Colin's first foray into the Muggle-free world, he has starred alongside other Harry Potter veterans including Brendan Gleeson (Mad Eye Moody), Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) and Clemence Poesy (Fleur de la Coeur).

In fact, the Dublin-born actor has spoken in the past about his desire to work on a Harry Potter film. "I would like to be in something like that, ” he said in an interview back in 2008. “That would be genius.”

Speaking about Fantastic Beasts (And Where To Find Them) in a recent statement, author JK Rowling said it would definitely not involve Harry, Hermione and co. "Newt’s story will start in New York, seventy years before Harry’s gets underway," she confirmed.

We cannot WAIT for filming to get started.

Irish actress Evanna Lynch has taken to Facebook to in order to get young actors in the audition doors this July.

If you know any pint-sized Harry Potter lovers then Evanna, 23, wants you to encourage them to get themselves to London for the open auditions for J.K Rowling’s magical spin-off series Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them. Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne will also be appearing.

According to the MuggleNet website, Warner Bros. has made the announcement that there will be an open call casting for a young woman’s role in London next Saturday.

The character is called Modesty  a “haunted young girl with an inner strength and stillness.” Sounds like someone Evanna is familiar with. Modesty has “an ability to see deep into people and understand them.”

Evanna has drawn comparisons between her own character Luna and Modesty of the spin-off series. She also thinks that the opportunity is there for any mega-fans like her to land the role of their dreams, just as she did.

Saw this on Mugglenet this morning and have to repost!! Warner Bros. are holding an open casting call on Saturday for…

Posted by Evanna Lynch on Monday, 13 July 2015

On Facebook, Evanna wrote a post about the casting call that encouraged all the Potter fans out there to give it a try. She said:

“I was shy, awkward, too-sensitive-for-this-industry, had not one professional credit to my name and I faced many a raised eyebrow and skeptical comment when voicing my dream to audition.”

Evanna says she loved the character so much which was what ultimately got her the role even though she wasn’t a trained actor.

“I only went out of love for the books and a fierce desire to tell Luna’s story the right way. But I was by all means, NOT ready or trained to audition for a role in a mega movie franchise.”

We think she did a pretty good job considering her character became loved by Potter fans around the world.

Evanna wrote that she just wants to encourage any girls who feel like they’re too shy or might not fit the Hollywood ideal to try what they love. “Put all those alleged obstacles out of your mind and just go as you, nothing more, nothing less,” she wrote to her fans.

Nicely done, Evanna.

Harry Potter fans rejoice! Our favourite author has once again given us further insight into the lives of our favourite characters.

This time round, JK Rowling offers an explanation into the deep-rooted resentment that the Dursley family feel towards Harry.

Ms Rowling has released her latest piece of Potter backstory on her website, Pottermore, which is used to interact with fans around the world.

In this post, the 49-year-old author explains how Vernon and Petunia Dursley treated Harry so wretchedly because of their longstanding animosity towards his parents, James and Lily Potter.

She describes the Dursleys as “reactionary, prejudiced, narrow-minded, ignorant and bigoted; most of my least favourite things.”

The author of The Casual Vacancy also explained how she came up with their dreary names. “’Vernon is simply a name I never much cared for. ‘Petunia’ is the name I always gave unpleasant female characters in games of make believe I played with my sister, Di, when we were very young.” She derived ‘Dursley’ from a village near her hometown of Gloucestershire.

Ms Rowling also explains her reasoning behind Petunia’s lacklustre final goodbye to Harry that left many fans feeling disappointed.

While Petunia looked as if she wanted to say something to Harry, she merely cocked her head and left without a word. “She gave him an odd, tremulous look and seemed to teeter on the edge of speech, but then, with a little jerk of her head, she bustled out of the room after her husband and son.”

Petunia’s creator explains that although Harry’s aunt does in fact have a buried love for her sister, her prejudices and jealousies don’t allow her to acknowledge it and “the realisation that she might never see Lily’s eyes again almost struggled out” of her, but she wasn’t able to admit it.

JK Rowling certainly is one author who takes the sting out of losing your favourite series. As well as frequently providing us avid readers with backstory updates, we can also look forward to the upcoming Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, featuring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander.

We can’t wait!

It's official – Eddie Redmayne has been cast to play Newt Scamander in JK Rowling’s new Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

The 33 year-old Londoner won this year’s Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal as Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything.

He will now turn his attentions to playing the ‘magizoologist’ who writes a textbook that will be studied by Harry and his friends in Hogwarts, years later.

Warner Brothers made the announcement saying that Redmayne has “emerged as one of today’s most extraordinarily talented and acclaimed actors”.

The studio said they are “thrilled to welcome him into JK Rowling’s Wizarding World, where we know he will deliver a remarkable performance”.

With Redmayne secured in the role, now we wonder who will play his love interest.

Last year, The Guardian reported that Harry Styles was possibly being considered to star in the film. These reports haven't been confirmed as of yet so we will just have to wait and see.

According to The Wrap, there are two leading ladies in the Harry Potter spin-off. It is reported that director, David Yates, has been eyeing up Kate Upton, Saoirse Ronan, Dakota Fanning, and a few others for the two roles.

We’re sure Eddie will deliver in this role and, starring alongside any of these women in a J.K. Rowling script sounds like a recipe for success to us.

It’s not everyday that Hollywood actors take on transgender roles and when they do it’s certainly something to be praised.

When we heard that Eddie Redmayne was to take on the role of Lili Elbe in new movie, The Danish Girl, we weren’t too sure what to expect – but nothing could have prepared us for this!

The actor, who was recently adorned with an Oscars for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, stars as Lili who was one of the world’s first people to undergo gender reassignment surgery.

Lili, born Einar Mogens Wegener underwent the then-experimental surgeries in Berlin in the early 1930’s. Sadly, Lili died in 1930 when a uterus transplant did not take to her body.

The Danish Girl is set to be one of the biggest movies of 2015 and just from seeing Eddie’s incredible transformation we cannot wait to see it!

Obviously not a couple for a long engagement – Eddie Redmayne is tying the knot with his fiancée in a romantic ceremony in England TODAY!

The actor will wed Hannah Bagshawe in a winter wonderland themed ceremony at Babington House in Somerset later today – how perfect does that sound?

Eddie and Hannah became engaged during the summer and announced the news through an article in The Times that read: “Mr. E.J.D. Redmayne and Miss H.J. Bagshawe. The engagement is announced between Edward, son of Mr and Mrs Richard Redmayne of London, and Hannah, daughter of Mr. Nicholas Bagshawe and Mrs. Caryl Bagshawe, both of London.”

The cute couple made a red carpet appearance at the premiere of Eddie’s new movie, The Theory of Everything where Hannah showed off her stunning engagement ring.

Hannah and Eddie aren’t the only couple who had their wedding at Babington House, as Millie Mackintosh and Professor Green chose the stunning venue for their nuptials back in September 2013.
