If your skin is dull and tired and in need of some rejuvenation, the answer could be in your kitchen cupboards!

Rather than splashing cash on some fancy mask you'll only use once, give your skin some natural TLC with a DIY face mask.

DIY masks are easy to make – simply choose your base and work away! Avocado, milk, oats, bananas, yoghurt and honey all work perfectly in face masks – here are two recipes to get you started.

Soothing Mask for Dry Skin

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2/3 small pot natural yoghurt (around 100g)

Method

  1. Mash or blend all ingredients together until they form a smooth paste
  2. Apply to skin and leave for around 10 – 15 minutes
  3. Wash off with a cloth and warm water

 

Toning Mask for Oily Skin

Ingredients

  • 1/2 a ripe avocado
  • White of 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Beat the egg until foamy
  2. Mash avocado until smooth and add to egg white
  3. Add lemon juice and stir to combine
  4. Apply to skin for around 10 minutes
  5. Wash off with a cloth and warm water
