If you’ve ever witnessed a bad breakup, you’ll know that the weeks following a split can be a tad self-indulgent and always require the assistance of Ben & Jerry.

But as weeks turn into months, something incredible happens.

New dresses are bought, hair gets did, and slowly but surely the breakupee begins to show the breakuper exactly what they’re missing.

Well, that’s kind of the situation with Britain and Europe right now, as in the aftermath of Brexit the EU could be about to offer its young citizens one very big advantage over their British counterparts.

MEP’s have proposed giving EU citizens free InterRail tickets for their 18th birthdays in a bid to reignite enthusiasm for Europe.

But since Britain has voted itself out of the union, its teenagers will not be receiving the coveted passes which allow people under 26 to travel across the continent by train.

While it’s still very early days, the FreeInterrail campaign has been greeted with much enthusiasm by European parliament members and, of course, by the teens who could benefit from the initiative.

Did we mention we love Europe?

It was a tense night last night as the EU referendum results were broadcast, which showed the result that Britain voted to leave the European Union.

It was an extremely close vote, with the Leave campaign securing around 51.8 per cent.

England voted overwhelmingly for Brexit, yet, Scotland and Northern Ireland backed the Remain campaign.

But, something we totally didn't expect to come from last night was Lindsay Lohan to live-tweeting about it.

Some topics she brought up for discussion were her insightful views on remaining in the EU, free trade and where Sunderland is located. Hmmm…

She first took to Instagram last night to post a video. She was seemingly advertising a Chanel bag, all the while showing her fans that she was watching the EU referendum results show.

#besmart pay attention and work hard to buy @chanelofficial #remain where's Sunderland? Does Sarah Palin live there? Lol

She captioned the post: "#be smart pay attention and work hard to buy @chanelofficial #remain where's Sunderland? Does Sarah Palin live there? Lol."

Then the actress took to Twitter to share another view:

But then she tweeted the Independent to blame Sunderland for a drop in the UK pound:

Then there was the "small shops" comment:

It was all very confusing…

Irish soccer player James McClean sparked anger when he turned his back on the British national anthem during West Brom’s pre-season friendly against Charleston Battery in the US.

The 26-year-old player was seen turning away from the St George flag as he stood beside his teammates, all of whom were facing it.

This is by no means the first time that the Derry-man has behaved in a politically motivated and controversial way.

Last year, he refused to wear a poppy on his jersey in the days leading up to Remembrance Sunday, the day traditionally celebrated by British people to commemorate British and Commonwealth soldiers who fought in the second world war and later conflicts.

Mr McClean refused to wear the poppy saying that it would have been disrespectful to the “innocent people who lost their lives in the Troubles.”

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has reportedly warned his player against this kind of behaviour.

Twitter fans have responded very unkindly to the manoeuver with some labelling him “scum”. Northern Irish MP Gregory Campbell said that “he should reconsider who his paymasters are or move elsewhere so there isn’t a problem.”

James responded to his criticism by tweeting “I don’t need to say anything or will I either.”

Jessie J has revealed she is leaving Britain because of speculation about her love life.

The singer has sold her house in London and bought a property in Hollywood.

The 26-year-old said she is moving to Los Angeles because her talents as a singer are appreciated more in the US.

"In America they see me as a singer whereas here I feel that people don't appreciate my voice,” said Jessie J.

“I've dedicated my life to singing and I want it to be taken seriously. Here it seems that all people want to know is what I've had for breakfast and who I'm sleeping with,” she added.

The former coach on BBC show The Voice came out as bisexual in 2011 and said she’s had one too many questions about her sexuality.

She said, "Sometimes I don't know when to stop. Sometimes I should just say nothing, but I can't help myself and make some big statement when saying nothing would be much more appropriate."

Well, best of luck in the states Jessie!

Expedia are looking for one lucky person to travel across Britain and blog about the good and not-so-good in food, drink and entertainment. Not only do you get to go on a permanent year long holiday, you will also get paid for the privilege – £105,000 to be exact.

However, if you want this job you better be prepared to fight off some competition – according to s1jobs, who are exclusively advertising the position, 1,943 have applied!

Gavin Mochan, Head of Sales at s1jobs said: ‘This is clearly a dream job for lots of people. When we read the job spec and saw the financial package we knew we would see a lot of interest. However, we didn’t expect quite the level of traffic we’ve seen and what was even more surprising was the amount of people who went past the job spec page to click on the apply button.’

Unfortunately, the position is now closed but Expedia have sought similar  roles to be filled in Spain, Italy, France and Germany so there’s hope for us yet!
