Barbie has just gotten WAY more inclusive, after creating dolls who are more representative of the real women and young children who play with her.

The company Mattel are making strides since they first opened in 1959 with bleach blonde Barbie with high-heels and ridiculous body proportions.

The brand are making new additions to the range which feature Barbies who use wheelchairs and with prosthetic legs.

Barbie has been given high-achiever careers as a vet, computer engineer and doctor, as well as featuring dolls who are diverse, more curvacious and black.

Two new dolls with disabilities will be added to it's Fashionista line on February 11, with the company articulating that it hopes the collection will broaden definitions of beauty.

“As a brand, we can elevate the conversation around physical disabilities by including them into our fashion doll line to further showcase a multi-dimensional view of beauty and fashion,” the company said in a statement.

Mattel’s vice president of Barbie Design, Kim Culmone, explained the latest additions were a response to phenomenal consumer demand.

"We’re going to be introducing a doll in a wheelchair and a doll representing physical disabilities. She has a prosthetic limb," Culmone told Teen Vogue

"There will be additional body sizes — a Barbie with a smaller bust and less-defined waist. A wheelchair or doll in a wheelchair was one of the most requested items through our consumer … hotline. It's important to us to listen to our consumers."

Customers are still requesting Barbies with more impairments or disabilities, such as Down's Syndrome or blindness (hence the service dog).

Culmone also stated that the company worked with a team at UCLA and with 12-year-old Jordan Reeves, who has a prosthetic arm, to make the brand new dolls as realistic as possible.

Reeves suggested that the prosthetic limb should be removable, giving the company one of their “first big ahas”, according to Culmone. "That’s not necessarily something we would have realised how important it would be to someone living with this experience."

Being blonde has it's perks, but staying blonde is another story altogether.

From maintenance to conditioning to frizz, bleaching your hair blonde brings annoyances alongside the shimmering golden fierceness.

Watching those dark roots emerge while checking your bank balance and realising that you can't afford to get them bleached professionally is a special kind of heartbreak.

Seeing those unwanted brassy yellow tones seeping through sends shivers down my spine, as a gal who has white/silver hair. Banishing yellow has been super easy for me since I began using the brand Fanola:

Otherwise known as the purple shampoo GODS, I was stunned at how amazing the results are. It does dry out the hair, but it's worth it if you pair it with a good conditioner, or use Olaplex

Olaplex has saved my bleached barnet by using specialist chemicals to legit bind the hair together and protect it from the damage of bleach.

The salon Cowboys & Angels on South William Street in Dublin SWEAR by it, and for good reason; It really does work.

I've tried using 'big brand' or high street purple shampoos, and normally they're an absolute train-wreck. Their bleach and toners are a pure mess, NEVER use them.

Always go to the profesh gals for bleaching your hair; the cheap ones in Boots will just damage your gorgeous locks and you'll have to pay to fix it anyway.

As someone who had to purge my hair three times to have green hues removed, it's always an imperative idea to go to the salon.

John Frieda, I'm looking at you. Bleach London, y'all need to do some WORK. So I was extremely sceptical when I tried L'Oreal Paris Elvive' new purple shampoo.

Only the professional salon brands like Fanola normally work, but I was hugely impressed by L'Oreal Paris Elvive's efforts. Their new campaign is fronted by none other than Helen Mirren, and they have vowed to banish yellow hues.

Their purple shampoo and conditioner promises to "act as a colour corrector by counteracting and neutralising undesired yellow and orange tones" to leave your hair bright and cool. That's quite the promise…

Purple formulas, often called silver shampoos, are used on white, silver and dyed blonde hair to keep them looking fresh and light coloured. Purple is the opposite to yellow on the colour wheel, and works to cancel out the sunny tones.

I should mention, my hair was bleached blonder than it's natural dark blonde tone, then a silver/lilac toner was used.

My toner unfortunately allows pink shades to seep through, but after using L'Oreal Paris Elvive's purple shampoo, the hair was noticeably less pink. I wanted lilac realness and I got it, so it's a job well done in my eyes.

My hair also didn't feel as dried out, after pairing it with the matching L'Oreal Paris Elvive Purple conditioner.

It's only necessary to use purple shampoo once a week, and leave it in the hair for one to three minutes for excellent results. While still no match for Fanola, my hair has returned to a more lilac tone rather than unwanted yellow and pink.

I would 100 percent recommend the shampoo for bleached blondes, or even highlighted brunettes, as it's far cheaper than Fanola.

Cowboys & Angels sell Fanola's purple shampoo relatively cheap compared to it's marketed price, but you'd struggle to find their no yellow shampoo online for under €20.

At €8.95 each for the shampoo and conditioner, L'Oreal Paris Elvive allows you to get blonder on a budget.

If Helen Mirren is on board, then by GOD so are we; She can do no wrong.

Overall, L'Oreal Paris Elvive Go Purple gets four stars out of five stars from us. Great value without any damage to the hair, and decent blonde results.

First of all, Zac Efron is a human being and can dye his hair absolutely any colour we wants, defying public opinion.

That said, the internet is completely torn over the actor's new 'do, mainly because it's PLATINUM BLONDE. Yes, you heard that right. Like Draco Malfoy-style blonde.

He was everyone's childhood boyfriend after his stint in High School Musical, but it appears fans have become too used to his sweeping brown locks. They've lost their minds at this latest news, literally.

"I might be unstable," says one fan, just so you know that we weren't exaggerating when we said fans had certifiably forgotten their sanity.

Acquaint yourself with the new Zac Efron, while you can. Get your glasses out, and examine it for yourself gals.

See? We never lie to you.

Squint and you can spot him in this Tweet, a 'lil blonde Zac/Draco innocently ignoring all of the fan fever over a hair colour;

The actor is officially a member of the Bleach Blonde Boys Club, and we HAVE to show you fan reactions because they are absolutely hilarious and disturbing at the same time;

The lewk has been sported by Zayn Malik, Ansel Elgort and, em, Pete Davidson, so it's a trend now.

One Twitter user wrote; "Zac Efron dying his hair platinum blonde is something I didn't know that I needed" and we have to agree with her there. Especially with that beard growth.

Another social media member had to use Oprah's face as a reaction, understandably.

"Don't talk to me unless you have more photos of Zac Efron with his blonde hair," another wrote. Amen.

One woman wants the internet to forget about Trump's wall drama in order to focus on what's important; Zac's hairstyle. Logic level 9000;

Some just went straight in with a proposal, which we're not sure we endorse;

Ice blonde really does get a reaction, especially for Zac Efron fans, we have to say.

What do you think of his new Baywatch-style look, Yay-watch or Nay-watch? (We're the only ones laughing at that joke but we don't care)

Okay so, we all have busy lives, and low budgets at the best of times, right?

And with that, we tend to have small panic attacks when we need to get the aul hair done.

ESPECIALLY, if you are blonde, but not naturally blonde (like myself).

Whether you have balayage , ombre or a delicious head of highlights, you'll know that getting blonde into your hair is a lengthy and expensive process.

Well, not anymore.

Recently, I learned about a snazzy new invention by the gorge folks at L'Oreal Pro – Instant Highlights.

Yes you read that correctly – instant.

Can we take a second to examine my RATTY 'before' hair?

Anyway, my curiosity took over, and I simply had to try this amazing new technology for myself.

So, on a wonderful Friday morning in May, I sauntered in to Dylan Bradshaw on South William Street, and got my blonde on.

Special shout out to Brian O'Driscoll, who was getting his mop chopped beside me at 9am – fair play to you hun.

I was a wee bit sceptical of the whole process – how in the name of God could I get highlights done in such a short period of time?

Basically, 15 pieces of my very long hair were separated out and identified as the pieces that were to be lightened.

The formula was applied to these pieces, and the foil was attached.

Then the fun started!

The amazing people in the salon came at me with what looked like a GHD, but it was something VERY different.

The L’Oréal Pro Instant Highlights tool has been uniquely designed with a spacer between the plates to help protect hair from the damage caused during the heat process.

The spacer also has a controlled heat gauge that is designed to regulate the temperature every 0.2 seconds to ensure the safe temperature of 140 degrees at all times – both factors ensure that hair does not have direct contact with heat to prevent damage.

So they simply went over the foils with this contraption, and BAM – I was blonde (well, those pieces of hair were anyway.)

No waiting around for hours waiting for the dye to take – the process took 30 minutes, from application to the rinsing.

Now, as I mentioned before, my hair is LONG, so my blow-dry took a while (it always does).

However, from the moment you sit on the chair, to the moment you leave the salon all blonde and fabulous – you will have only lost about an hour of your life.

That sure beats the 4 hour process that highlights can sometimes take – trust me, I've been there.

And the best bit? It will literally cost you HALF the amount of a normal head of highlights.

Get in touch with your nearest L'Oreal salon, and check it out for yourself.

10/10 would recommend to a friend.

It's a well documented fact that Paris Hilton helped Kim Kardashian's catapult to stardom.

The selfie queen used to work as Paris's personal assistant, and was papped with the hotel heiress at every possible moment.

Paris was the ultimate style icon in the noughties, and now Kim is paying homage to the heiresses' signature platinum blonde look.

Taking to Snapchat, the reality TV star showcased a new icey bob while wishing happy birthday to the inventor of the Juicy Couture tracksuit trend.

“Today’s vibes channelling Paris! Happy Birthday @ParisHilton Can’t wait to celebrate with you soon!” Kim tweeted, in honour of her bestie.

A post shared by Kendall (@kendalljenner) on

Kim isn't the first Kardashian to take their style cues form the noughties icon this year.

Kendall rocked a sparkly, slinky silver mini dress to her 21st birthday, a dress which was almost a direct replica of a party frock Paris wore for her own 21st birthday.

"I wanted something that was part '20s, part 'vintage Paris Hilton vibes,' so I collaborated with the designer Antoine Salameh to create the perfect dress," the model said on her website.

A post shared by Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Kylie has also been channelling the blonde socialite, and rocked the modern reincarnation Paris's signature Juicy Couture look over on Instagram a few weeks ago.

We can just image Paris taking Regina George-style credit for the Kardashian's fame.

I like invented her, you know what I mean?

Bella Hadid recently achieved a major modelling milestone by walking in her first Victoria's Secret fashion show.

Now the star has been seen posing up a storm in the pages of Paper Magazine (the publication that helped Kim Kardashian "break the internet" don't you know) looking a little different.

Getting an out-there hair change is synonymous with a break up, so it's no wonder that while rumours fly about her and long time beau the Weekend, Bella has gone for a dramatic platinum blonde.

A serious departure from her usually raven locks, the model worked her new do on set as she posed for her cover shoot.

The Starboy singer and the super model reportedly split last month due to hectic work schedules, though neither parties have commented on the rumours.

Bella received a mixed response from fans about her new lighter locks.

Some were quick to say how much they loved her new hair look for the edgy editorial shoot, while others hoped it was a wig.

Either way, we think Bella can pull off pretty much any look,as she proved at the VS fashion show when she strutted her stuff down the runway in front of her rumoured ex.

Gossip Girl is still one of those shows that we hold dear to our hearts, and many fans of the show were also fans of Lonely Boy a.k.a. Penn Badgley.

But in his most recent appearance, the actor turned musician looks nothing like his GG days.

Instead of his usual brown curly locks, Penn rocked a new blonde do and beard while playing with his band Mothxr last night at Miami's Art Basel.

We totally love his new look, but then again, it seems like he can pull of any hairstyle.

After finishing up with GG, Penn has mainly concentrated on his band, however he recently told Huffington Post that he hasn't said goodbye to acting just yet.

We're looking forward to seeing him on our TV screens again.

She mightn’t know the date of her best friend’s birthday, but Gigi Hadid is well able to choose the perfect autumnal hairstyle.

The normally blonde model seems to have veered away from her signature Cali style as she has been pictured sporting a notably darker hue.

Bronde has effectively bypassed ombre to become A/W16’s prettiest shade.

And since it suits a variety of skin tones, is easy to maintain and allows wearers to gently transition between seasons, it’s easy to see why.

It’s no secret that Farrah Abraham’s look has changed substantially since she first made her TV debut on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant.

But throughout multiple breast enhancements, a nose job, chin implants and lip and cheek fillers, one part of the reality star’s appearance has remained relatively constant – her hair.

Yesterday, the 25-year-old author took to Instagram to share pictures of her new soft blonde hairdo with fans and – as with all things Farrah – the move has garnered a mixed response.

The controversial TV personality has been subject to much criticism in recent months, with an online petition demanding she be dropped from Teen Mom receiving more than 75,000 signatures.

From Kylie Jenner to Chloe Ferry, at the rate we’re going there won’t be a brunette left by the end of 2016.

And just as Michelle Keegan makes the seriously savvy decision to return to her roots, another notable brunette has traded in her luscious locks in favour of a lighter look.

Ever since she first achieved major fame through Robin Thicke’s controversial Blurred Lines video, Emily Ratajkowski has maintained her glossy brunette mane, but now it looks like the star’s putting the “blondes have more fun” theory to the test, as she’s been pictured with a shoulder-length, platinum-coloured bob.

While the 25-year-old model definitely looks better brunette, we have to admit that she’s well able to work a lighter shade.

And the best news?  Emily’s ‘do is for her role in the new Netflix series Easy so hopefully she’ll be back to her dark self in no time.

Earlier this month Kylie Jenner shocked us all when she revealed her new blonde ‘do to the world.

And since Kim, Khloé, Kendall and even Kourtney have all taken a walk on the lighter side of lock life at some stage, the one remaining Kardashian sibling has decided to give it a go.

In a gas new Instagram post, Rob Kardashian has joked about his sisters’ newfound love for bleach by creating a split-screen image in which each Kardashian-Jenner sibling has blonde hair.

As we finally coax Michelle Keegan back over to the dark side, two more striking brunettes have decided to take a trip on the lighter side of lock life.

But while Kylie Jenner still looks relatively like herself, Geordie Shore’s Chloe Ferry’s next to white ‘do and cosmetic surgery addiction has left her looking totally unrecognisable.

Yesterday the 21-year-old reality star revealed her new look on Instagram and already her long blonde hair has garnered some pretty harsh reactions.

Thankfully for those who aren’t fans of Chloe’s brighter style, her new ‘do is the result of a convincing looking wig so presumably her dark tresses remain intact beneath.

We’re glad Chloe’s used a temporary measure to test this look as it hopefully means she’ll be returning to her roots in the near future.
