Australia is currently facing some of the largest bush fires in the history of the country. The fires have been raging since September but have recently intensified. The BBC reported that at least 24 people have died, dozens are missing and about 1500 homes have been destroyed.  So far, 13 million acres of land has been burned. To put it into perspective, that’s about the size of Leinster, Munster and most of Connacht combined. This is also an ecological disaster and so far, it is estimated that as many as 480 million animals have been killed.

At this stage, the best thing any of us can do is to donate money to those working on the ground. The following organisations need our help:

Liam Hemsworth has been keeping a low profile since news broke of his divorce from Miley Cyrus, and her subsequent relationship with Kaitlynn Carter.

The Hollywood actor definitely needed some time to himself, and flew back to his native Australia to spend quality time with his brother, Chris Hemsworth.

Sometimes we just need some sibling love, and Chris has brought a smile to Liam's face amid his heartbreaking break-up from his partner of 10 years Miley.

The brothers set off on a family holiday to Makepeace Island, just off Noosa in Queensland, Australia, to have some down-time and the pair looked more chilled out than ever.

Chris shared some photos of his time away with Liam and his wife Elsa Pataky on Thursday; "Another little hidden gem in Australia Thanks for the hospitality Makepeace Island!,’ Chris said.

The snapshots show Chris posed alongside Liam and his gang of seven.  Chris jokingly puts his foot on Liam’s head in one moment, so we reckon they're just like every other brotherly pair.

The Thor star has had a turbulent week, with family dog Sunny going missing earlier last week and getting zapped by electric fencing.

The Marvel star's Goldendoodle ran off in Byron Bay, and the actor's family friend Tracey Sparkes shared an appeal on Facebook explaining that Sunny was a ‘very friendly’ pooch who was ‘approaching her third night lost’, Page Six reported.

"She ran off after getting a zap from electric fencing," she wrote, before asking members of a local Byron Bay Facebook group to "please keep a look out for her".

Chris and his wife, who adopted Sunny in November 2014, were reunited with the dog later on, luckily.

Liam definitely needed a holiday after splitting from Miley Cyrus just eight months after their marriage in December of last year.

The Slide Away singer is already dating new girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter just days after confirming the end of her marriage.

Miley was seen kissing Kaitlynn on their trip to Italy and it’s now reported the pair are living together. People claim that the pair have taken the next step, and Miley has "no regrets" about her break-up.

According to The Blast, settlement discussions between the Miley and Liam have been ‘amicable’ since Liam filed for divorce and their pre-nup means dividing their assets is simple.

Many of us have the unpleasant experience under our belt of dating an absolute snake. You know the one; the eternal f*ckboi who most likely ghosts you after slithering into your heart, who can't commit to a relationship and even cheats.

He's fluent in Parseltongue and has been a core member of the Slytherin Quidditch team for years.

His best mate is Draco Malfoy, he calls him 'Malfy' for short, and goes golfing with his dad Lucius every Saturday.

He wears Taylor Swift's snake print Reputation merch, but won't listen to her empowering tunes. He makes you pay for both of you on nights out, and flirts with your mates.

He gaslights the crap out of you, and gives double-handed compliments that are disguised as compliments.

Most likely he says he wants more space, even though you barely see him, and tries to argue that your relationship is casual instead of serious, no matter what the circumstances are.

Sounds familiar? Well, we've got some hiss-worthy revenge for you, best served cold.

A competition is being run by Wild Life Sydney to name their brown snakes after a douchebag ex, and requires the entrants to say why their ex best deserves it. GENIUS.

The programme also asks participants to donate to it's conservation fund, to help Australian native wildlife by funding research and education. It's a Valentine's Day treat, if you ask us.

The zoo's general manager, Mark Connolly, said that the competition could give "someone unlucky in love … something else to celebrate on Valentine’s Day this year."

The winner gets to have a snake named after your slimy ex-conquest, and also an annual pass to visit your trashy snake in the zoo.

How adorable…the winner will be announced on Valentines Day to fit the romantic mood.

We can think of a fair few names to be put forward of men who have MAJORLY hissed us off, what about you ladies?

We could easily spend hours lusting over all of the stunning homes on Airbnb – especially during the dreary throws of January.

Luckily, Airbnb has revealed which of their stunning properties has accumulated the most wanderlusting likes on Instagram over the past 12 months. Unsurprisingly, the most popular community-generated images were dominated by breathtaking views – because who wants to look out the window of their holiday home if there’s no view to see?

While we’re used to seeing Mauritian water villas and NYC skylines on the travel-grams of the trends, Airbnbs most popular property is actually based much further afield…

10. The Triangle Siargao – General Luna, Siargao Island Philippines

A-framed cabins were a big hit with Airbnb’s Instagram followers in 2017 and they show no sign of waning in popularity.

With over 45,000 likes, this shot taken by @thetriangle.siargao perfectly encapsulates the authentic, rustic jungle vibe.

9. Exclusive Villa with Private Dock – Piano di Sorrento, Italy

Italy makes makes it’s memorable mark with this sweeping view of the Amalfi Coast.

The image, taken from the terrace of a cliffside Home on Airbnb, was shot by @lizbedor and has already garnered over 49,000 likes – and it’s not surprising that stunning Italian destinations will crop up four times on this top 10.

8. Incredible Apartment & Views Pool – Perledo, Lake Como, Italy

There’s no such thing as a bad view of Lake Como.

But the outlook from Alistair and Vicki’s apartment high above the village of Varenna is hard to beat. Beautifully captured by @sssoph90 and garnering almost 50,000 likes, this view is truly incredible

7. Vintage Design and Contemporary Art – Trastevere, Italy

An urban view this time, and another Airbnb Plus Home made the grade in this year’s review of most liked listings on Instagram.

In seventh position and amassing over 50,000 likes, the image taken by @jonisan is the only urban view to make it to this year’s top ten

6. The Boat House – New South Wales, Australia

Unless you’re an expert swimmer, the only way to reach Susan’s house on the Hawkesbury River is by boat.

The shot, taken by @sarahlianhan, captures the magic of the Home’s splendid waterside setting and has clocked up over 55,000 likes.

5. BEAUTIFUL RIAD Marrakech – Morocco

With just under 60,000 likes, this poolside snap taken by @theresatorp really evokes the spirit of Marrakech.

After a morning spent weaving through the town’s charming souks, this shaded traditional courtyard is the perfect spot to relax and cool down.

4. Joshua Tree Campover Cabin – Joshua Tree, CA

The fourth most liked image on Airbnb’s Instagram account in 2018 was also about rural vistas. This 1950s renovated Airbnb Plus cabin sits on over 22 acres and was the perfect place for @alalam100 to enjoy unobstructed sunrises and sunsets from the comfort of his own bed.

The image was liked over 65,000 times.

3.  Willow Treehouse – secluded, unique, romantic – Willow, NY

This shot, taken from inside a strikingly modern treehouse near Woodstock in New York state, has been liked an impressive 70,000 times.

Taken by @cristinarnieto, the image offers a tantalizing glimpse of an idyllic woodland setting that has made the treehouse Home such a hit with its many guests.

2. Lazzarella Room in Old Mill – Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Italy

The romance of Italy is perfectly captured in this photo taken by @jugglesatparties from the dining room of an old mill turned Home in Ravello, Italy.

Looking out over a heavily forested valley, a mere stone’s throw from the Amalfi Coast, it’s easy to see why this photo amassed almost 90,000 likes.

1. LUC 22 Boutique Alpine Retreat – Queenstown, New Zealand

The most liked photo on Airbnb’s Instagram profile in 2018 shows a bathroom like no other.

With almost 110,000 likes, this stunning Lake Wakatipu panorama, taken by @chachi86 from inside his Home on Airbnb, was a clear hit among lovers of a bathtub soak with a view.

"I love your dirty socks on the floor cause that means YOU'RE HOME. I love when you introduce me to a new band, so when you're away I can listen, and it feels like you're here."

"I love laying in bed late at night looking for new recipes, only going to sleep so we can wake up and make breakfast together while having a hot cup of coffee (almost as hot as you are)," she wrote, listing activities such as eating Chinese food, brushing their teeth together, combing her hair, and being the REALEST person at any party. This bada** rockstar has shown just how tough she truly is. Pink has been released from her hospital stay and has a message for all her fans.

The mum has recently been touring Australia and posted about her forced decision to postpone a concert due to her and her children’s illness.

“What these parasite paparazzi don’t show you, is two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil,

“A screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night, while mama gives him warm baths and tells her daughter everything is fine.”

I don’t need to clear this up, but out of respect for my fans I will attempt it. I scheduled this tour meticulously, trying to do what was best for my children, while also putting on the best and most physically demanding and beautiful show of my life. This break in Byron has been scheduled since 2017, as a way to get outside the hotel and the winter and have some time with my children. I’ve already been sick twice (kids as well)on this Australian tour, but the first time we got sick, I was able to push through. This time, what these parasite paparazzi don’t show you, is two doctor visits in Byron on two consecutive days, antibiotics, steroids, Vick’s, nose spray, throat spray, more steroids, NyQuil, a screaming baby in the middle of the night, every night, while mama gives him warm baths and tells her daughter everything is fine. You can think whatever you want, it’s your right, but I have never taken advantage of any one in my entire life. I have never fucked off while disrespecting hard working people who spend money to come see me play. I have never phoned in a single tour, I have an impeccable record for not cancelling. I mother with everything I have whilst handling all the rest. The snark in this is unbelievable and makes me long for a nicer world. I’m doing the absolute best I can, and you can believe it or not. What they don’t show you in this picture is me drinking water and lying down while my friends try to entertain my 7 year old who is asking me why these creepy men are surrounding us and pacing back and forth and taking pictures of her every move. I will see everyone tomorrow whether I’m better or not, and the postponed show will be rescheduled. As I said, I’m sorry to the real fans who this situation has affected. Onwards and upwards.

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

The rockstar explained how physically demanding her show has been and that she was “doing the absolute best” she could.

Pink, once again, tried to push through the pain and sickness to deliver fans the amazing, jaw-dropping performance they have been waiting for.

However, this time she may have pushed herself too far.

The singer was rushed to the hospital just 20 minutes before she was due to leave for the concert’s soundcheck on Monday due to “excruciating pain”.

According to Live Nation, the mum was admitted and treated for severe dehydration on Sunday. Then was forced to return to the hospital the next day, just before her scheduled concert.

She was then diagnosed with a gastric virus and admitted for treatment until her hospital release last night.

Pink explained how physical her performances are: “I flip, dance, fly, harness, silk, and scream my way through a total shit show of awesomeness (no pun intended).

“I think all of you deserve the full show and me at my best. Our next show will be Saturday, and until then I will be drinking green tea, and spending time with my kids.”

Hi beautiful Sydney people. First, I want to say thank you to all of the kind people out there for your well wishes for my speedy recovery. On Monday, we were absolutely planning on going ahead with the show, and about 20 minutes before I left for soundcheck, I was rushed to the hospital, in excruciating pain. That was the reason for the late cancellation. It was out of anyone’s control, and of course, wasn’t planned that way. I was discharged from hospital last night, and am following doctors orders of liquids and rest. A lot of you know how physical my shows are, and that I don’t just stand in front a microphone and sing. I flip, dance, fly, harness, silk, and scream my way through a total shit show of awesomeness (no pun intended). Therefore, I need to be physically healthy and well in order to perform this show. I think all of you deserve the full show and me at my best. Our next show will be Saturday, and until then I will be drinking green tea, and spending time with my kids. That’s a warning to paparazzi, you might actually see me walking upright outside of my hotel room cage with two little children, and another warning: I might even smile. Not too much, though. I’ll try to control the smiling. My sincere apologies to any of the ticket holders that this has affected, the rescheduled dates will be announced today. Thank you for your patience, compassion, and support. I look forward to rocking out with all of you as we have done for many many years. All of my love. Pink I also want to thank the amazing doctors and nurses at St Vincent’s Hospital for taking such good care of me and getting me home to my kids.

A post shared by P!NK (@pink) on

The singer was  absolutely heartbroken that she could not be there for her fans, but she needs to put her health first so she can continue to finish her tour.

She concluded, “thank you for your patience, compassion, and support. I look forward to rocking out with all of you as we have done for many many years. All of my love.”

The rescheduled concert dates will be announced later today.

We hope the singer and mum continues to recover smoothly. She is a complete rockstar on stage and for pushing through her health issues for her fans.

Katy Perry is officially the nicest human being on Earth. Prepare yourself, this story is an absolute tear-jerker.

The pop singer is currently on tour and had a concert set in Australia, but one fan could not attend.

Little Grace had bought tickets to see the show with her mum over a year ago, but unfortunately, she’s been battling a brain tumour all year.

Her sister, Tiana, immediately took action and was determined to get Grace the concert she had been dreaming of for so long.

“RETWEET PLEASE! my baby sister is meant to attend @katyperry concert in Adelaide this year but was diagnosed with a 6cm Brain tumour and has been battling all year,

“Grace has love been Katy’s biggest fan since she was 3, please help us try and get in contact with @katyperry,” Tiana tweeted on July 24th.

The Internet came to her aid and eventually, the news reached Katy Perry herself.

Just yesterday, the popstar came down to Grace’s house and gave her a private concert!

The Power Of The Internet #helpGracemeetKatyPerry

A post shared by KATY PERRY (@katyperry) on

Katy introduced herself to the whole family, commending Tiana for shaving her head to raise money for her sister’s treatment.

The singer also said that little Grace was ‘the first person’ she had ever given a private concert in their home.

In the video, Katy is seen laughing and hanging out with all the kids and singing her hit song “Firework” while holding Grace’s hand.

Grace and Tiana’s mum thanked Katy and gave her a big hug for doing this for her daughter.

‘The power of the Internet’ that Katy captioned her photo can truly be attributed to the power of sisterhood.

Tiana probably wanted to cheer up her little sis in any way she could, and her constant posting with the hashtag #helpgracemeetkatyperry spread like wildfire.

We wish Grace the best of luck with her recovery and are so glad that she has such an awesome sister and supportive family surrounding her.

Last month, the Australian public have voted to legalise same-sex marriage.

The move meant that the country's parliament could formally begin the process of legislating for the union.

The results of the parliaments' vote was overwhelmingly in favour of same-sex marriage, and in celebration, the entire room burst into song.

Australian MPs endorsed marriage equality and broke into a round of applause, cheers, and began singing.

The officials sang  I Am Australian by The Seekers, and one or two could be seen wiping away tears of joy after the announcement.

Only four MPs did not back the reform.

Their delighted reaction is currently going viral, as the world looked on anticipating their decision.

From this Saturday onwards, same-sex couples will be able to register to get married in Australia.

'What a day for love, for equality, for respect. Australia has done it,' Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said, according to Sky News.

Drake proved himself to be a real-life hero last night after he halted his show to confront a man who was allegedly groping females in the audience.

The Canadian rapper was performing an after-show set at Sydney's Marquee nightclub when the incident occurred.

Visibly frustrated by the situation, the 34-year-old signalled for the music to stop before leaning into the crowd.

"If you don't stop touching girls, I will come out there and f*ck you up," he said.

"If you don't stop putting your hands on girls, I'm gonna come out there and f*ck your ass up."

His threats were met with huge cheers from the crowd, and while it's not clear what happened to the man after this point, we're assuming security escorted him out of the building.

Luckily for us, one member of the audience caught the entire thing on video so we can all enjoy this moment of justice.

Uploading the footage to Instagram, user louisesukari wrote: “I got this close to Drake threatening to jump into the crowd to start a fight with a guy groping a woman in the audience. Violence against women, 6 God says no.”

The Australian public have voted to legalise same-sex marriage, in a result that paves the way for the country's parliament to formally begin the process of legislating for the union.

The historic postal survey saw 79.5 per cent of Australia's registered voters have their say – making the turnout bigger than both the Brexit referendum and the 2016 US presidential election. Of the 79.5 per cent, 61.6 per cent voted yes.

While the results of the vote are not legally binding, it is widely expected that legislation will be passed by the government before the end of the year, with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull saying he wants to make the people's wish “the law of the land by Christmas.”

Australia will become the 26th nation to legalise same-sex marriage, in what is a huge step forward for a country where, in some states, homosexuality was illegal until 1997.

Celebrations are well under way down under, with many happy voters taking to Twitter to express an overwhelming sense of joy.

An Australian Senator has released a rival same-sex marriage bill that could see a number of anti-discrimination laws overturned.

While the proposed bill, sponsored by Liberal senator James Paterson, would legalise same-sex marriage, a number of attached exemptions would give wedding service providers, such as bakers and florists, the right to refuse gay couples.

It comes just days before the results of a nationwide postal survey are released to the public.

Should the survey return a 'yes' vote, the Australian government are expected to debate a number of proposed exemptions to the law.

The Paterson bill,  would also include a clause which would allow government employees the right to refuse to register a same-sex marriage, while parents will be able to remove their child from a class if the content taught contradicts their beliefs.

Paterson, who is a supporter of same-sex marriage, said he thinks “religious freedom and speech are important rights.”

“I suspect 30-40% of Australian will vote no. I don't think their votes should mean we shouldn't have same-sex marriage, but I do think that their freedoms should be protected and I think my bill is a bill that best does that,” he said.

The proposed bill has been heavily criticised by supporters of gay marriage with Alex Greenwich, co-chair of Australian Marriage Equality, claiming it has the potential to “divide Australians.”

“Australians have been voting not to entrench discrimination in legislation. That is what senator Paterson's bill seeks to do,” he said.

Adding: “Are we going back to a time in Australia where there were signs outside a shop saying who they would serve and who they wouldn't?”

The results of the national survey on same-sex marriage are expected on Wednesday, November 15.
