4th of july

We're all eagerly anticipating the arrival of Stranger Things season three to Netflix this Thursday, and Deliveroo are helping us celebrate July 4 in a very special way.

The food delivery app and Brother Hubbard have collaborated to create Eggo Waffles in a tribute to everyone's favourite 80s sci-fi show.

The delicious treat will be available exclusively on the platform on July 4, in perfect timing to binge the show.

Stranger Things have inspired the Dublin favourite's new menu, with the gastro geniuses at Brother Hubbard creating both savoury and sweet variations of Eleven's iconic food staple.

Customers can decide between a peanut & jelly waffle sandwich, an shout out to all the times the characters are served up PB & Jelly sandwiches on the show, or get savoury with a dark waffle topped with buttermilk fried chicken, Thousand Island Sauce and Chipotle ‘Slaw.

The incredible creations are priced at €11 each (good one), they'll be around just in time for your Upside Down session in front of the TV screen.

The adolescent-led series has started a waffle phenomenon outside of the show, with Eggos rising in popularity once again as a result of Eleven. Good thing Brother Hubbard caught on to the trend fast…

Garrett Fitzgerald, Owner of Brother Hubbard said:

"Some of our customers love the series and a couple of us in the restaurant do too. When Deliveroo got in touch and asked us to create exclusive treats for the series' return, we couldn't wait.

"They certainly are an homage to the series and the nostalgia of it, but the waffles are also made with Brother Hubbard’s quirky flair and flavour that our customers know and love", he added.

Joe Groves of Deliveroo said, “We’ve been known to place some stranger things on the menu from time to time, hello Creme Egg Quesadilla! So there’s no better time to do so than with the return of this series.

The Stranger Things-inspired waffles will be available on the Deliveroo app or website from the night of July 4 for one week only (excluding Sunday and Monday).

What better way to celebrate the return of one of the world's most beloved shows? Get in the 80s mood, grab a Rubix cube and some binoculars and get ready for some strange treats.

No fair.

Where were our invites, though? Must have been misplaced with all the Christmas post and fan mail…

This is a party we'd KILL to attend. Keep slaying, Taylor. With the Grammy's approaching, the star is sure to achieve even more fierceness in 2019.

After all his antics last week, we can’t exactly say we are surprised.

It has been reported that Kourtney Kardashian and her long-time love, Scott Disick, have called time on their relationship.

The couple, who have been together since 2006, have three children together, Mason, Penelope and Reign.

Sources have confirmed to E! News that the couple broke up over the 4th of July weekend.

“Kourtney has always taken Scott back and been by his side, but now with three kids it has gotten old. Kourtney has to do what’s best for the kids,” the insider revealed.

Scott has been making everyone ask just what exactly is going on with their relationship in recent weeks. It was only one week ago that the reality TV star caused a storm of controversy when he was pictured caressing his ex-girlfriend, celebrity stylist Chloe Bartoli, on holiday in Monte Carlo.

Things between the 32-year-old and the mother of his children seemed even more strained when he was pictured with Ms Bartoli, yet AGAIN.

Throughout their relationship, the 36-year-old Kardashian has remained by Scott’s side. She has endured numerous cheating rumours and stints in rehab.

But according to the source, Kourtney is now “over it.”

“She’s fed up. It’s humiliating and disrespectful. How much more is she supposed to take?”

The insider revealed that the most worrying part of Scott’s recent behaviour is that he “does not seem to care about what he’s doing.” Scott has reportedly been hanging out with a bad crowd recently and is “unravelling.”

“He’s been in trouble before, but this is on another level.”

If you’ve been sporting a pair of shorts or a t-shirt featuring the American flag today to celebrate the 4th of July (why not? A holiday is a holiday, even if it’s not Irish!), then you’ve actually been in breach of the rules set out in “The United States Flag: Federal Law Relating to Display and Associated Questions”. It states:

“The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, RS-7 the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping in front of the platform, and for a decoration in general.”

However, the rule isn’t enforced. Marc Leepson, author of Flag: An American Biography explains:

“It has been part of the U.S. Code … since 1942. But the Flag Code is not enforced, and it’s not enforceable. It’s simply a set of guidelines that carries no penalties for noncompliance; it doesn’t even have enforcement provisions. Think of it as a sort of federally mandated Miss Manners manifesto.”

We wonder how many celebs will be in breach of this code today!
