Star responds to rapper’s horrific ‘rape threat’

Iggy Azalea has responded to Eminem’s new song Vegas, in which he seems to insinuate her rape.

The Fancy singer took to Twitter to share her shock and disappointment at the disgraceful lyrics, writing: “I’m bored of the ‘old men threatening young women as entertainment’ trend and much more interested in the ‘young woman getting [money]’ trend.”

She went on to say that the incident was especially awful because her teenage brother is such a huge fan of the rapper.

“It’s especially awkward because my 14-year-old brother is the biggest Eminem fan and now the artist he admired says he wants to rape me. Nice!” she added.

Iggy appeared to be keen to put the issue behind her, signing off with one final tweet which read: “Women in music have the bigger b**** anyhow, we endure much more harassment and critique…Off to camera block for AMAs!”

Social media users were horrified when Eminem’s latest song was unveiled, containing the following lyrics: “So what’s it gon’ be? Put that s*** away Iggy. You don’t wanna blow that rape whistle on me. Scream! I love it. ‘Fore I get lost with the gettin’ off.”

The rapper has yet to publicly address Iggy’s tweets from this morning.

It’s a pretty disgraceful state of affairs when two of the world’s biggest rappers have sent such shocking abuse Iggy’s way. We hope an apology will follow.
